RWBY - Fall Of Grimm

Chapter 35 - You're Late.

""AAAAAAAHHHHH~!!!""

Echoing off the walls are the wails of what seem to be the empty caste of skin that wish to let out their agony upon the world. Here in this dark location they can let out their suffering in the form of a scream that will forever bounce off the corridors in an endless loop of howling wind filled with horror never ending as if even the abyss dares not to swallow the noises which come from the environment of this area.

This is a Godless zone of where no angels or divine beings exist. And even demons and devils will call out in fear.

Looking up I stare at the walls of concrete to find stick figures drawn in fresh blood as if it were just painted on, they displayed but a single figure who sat on a mound of corpses that towered over a battlefield.

It was filled with blood, both the battlefield and the mouth of the man who sat on the mound.

Pushing myself up and off the wall, the strength in my legs is so little that I simply cannot even dare to stand on them. The pain is great and energy is so little.

Collapsing several times, I almost gave up.

Yet I knew that I must stand.

Listening to the screams echo off the wall and enter into my ears to only bound back out as if afraid to stay any longer, I feel the fear course through my veins alongside my blood once again.

Hell is my only redemption. This place is far worse.

*Punf!* I instantly go falling to the ground, smashing face first into the cold hard concrete flooring that padded this cell.

It hurts…

Lifting my head up I feel a warm liquid run down my chin and to the floor with a *pit, pit, pit* sound as it destroys itself upon hitting the ground.

Seeing the red liquid I look back at what is holding my arms to where they are and what I find is what seems to be some clothing that restrains my limbs inside of its sleeves. A straight jacket.

Now I can feel anger gurgle its way through my mind and fill my head with an endless rage.

'I have to get out of here!!!' was the sole thought that dared to run across my mind.

Stepping off the floor I bounded forward.

Smashing my way into the opposing wall and smearing the unreasonably fresh bloody stick figures on the wall to my face. I can finally somewhat regain my balance on my feet by using the wall and my face to balance myself.

Turning to my left I see it.

My exit.

A steel door that was riveted along the edge and had a single bar in place to hold me tight where I'am from the outside. Rusted over and dripping with a dark liquid I can only find that it was the only thing that blocked me from freedom.

Somebody didn't want me to escape from here.

With the almost endless rage and fear that coursed through my veins from the fact of being held like an animal in this asylum filled to the brim with the stench of death, I can only think of escaping and escape I shall!

Lowering my head down, I let out a roar of a beastial creature and this loud roar seemed to have instantly dwarf the sound of any other within the area as no other sound could be heard. Almost as if it were afraid of the noise which exited my mouth and filled the atmosphere to the brim.

And then it was silent.

With my mind ready and body in position, now was my chance.

So I took off…

Sprinting with all the might contained in my body, I smashed head first into the steel door that had for some reason seemed to have already weathered a storm of similar attacks.

Due to the blood that ran down it as if it had only just appeared like the figures on the concrete walls and floor.

"FUWAAH!"

S.u.c.k.i.n.g in the air as if attempting to swallow all that I can with several short painful gasp, I had once more awaken from that devilish nightmare that left me with many sleepless nights.

What was it?

Perking my ears and looking around I find myself in a rather familiar environment.

With [Back In Black: AC/DC] blasting through the air of an indoor steel incased room that was slightly rocking about without care, inside along to the sides can be found several men seated and one other that had stood out the most.

Five of which are found to be inside black colored tactical armor known as ODST BDU with the standard issue CH252 helmet that was modified for EVA use, a set of armor specially designed to allow for specific troops to be dropped from extreme heights into the most testing of environments. Equipped with M7S CSMGs, MA5C ICWSs and M6C/SOCOMs while one of which carried around a SRS99D-S2AM and another had M41S SRMAV/AW… All of this firepower can show off to many that this group is ready for war whenever or wherever it may come for them.

These soldiers were meant to deal with only the most hellish of situations, yet at the moment these troops that could walk through battlefields unimpeded were placed as bodyguards for a single individual.

This individual was seated on the most rear seat on the left side of the room, wearing armor that didn't match that of the others it was made of several pieces of red painted steel plates in a similar style to that of the ancient samurai that were long lost in time.

On his right side can be found his weapon of choice, it was a large blade that was three meters in length when the handle is taken into account and had a hole in the middle with a piece of leather that attached to the end of the handle within, the blade at his side seemed as if it could cut through anything and even had half a circle along the blade that seemed to assist with the decapitation of whoever it connects with. A monstrous weapon for only the most dangerous of individuals.

"Drop-zone ETA: Two Minutes" A voice spoke out over a radio system installed within the roof so that all members in the metal room can prepare to leave.

Hearing the voice over the radio all six figures prepare to leave, though one seemed rather upset with this act.

Standing up and looking over at the ODSTs who were prepping their gear, he seemed to want to put a quick end to it.

With a deep voice that seemed to crash through the room with a dark tone said out "Hold it you five, your next mission is elsewhere and not at this location. Only I'am to disembark at this location." The one who spoke was the one who wore the older styled armor and yet it can be felt from the tone of the soldier who responded that they understood his authority.

Standing at attention the leader of the team who was closest by quickly responded in a clear and loud tone "Yes Sir. But may I ask why it is that you do not need my squad to protect you?" The squad leader actually seemed rather confused at the fact that he was being told to leave behind the person he should protect.

Hearing the simple question a single line was said out by the man he saluted towards "That is very simple Gunnery-Seargent…"

The man who wore his red armor looked into the helmet of the armored unit before him and blinked once, after reopening his eyes the iris can be seen a bloody red with a pattern that consisted of three hollow tomoe connected and circling around the pitch black pupil. The Gunnery-Seargeant could feel the sweat pour down his back as he stared into the eyes that appeared before him as the man slowly said in a deep voice that practically spoke to the soul "…Do you think I need your protection?" This returned question was said in a manner that was as if he were questioning the intelligence of the ODST Gunnery-Seargent in front of him, it was deep and filled with sarcasm that made even politicians want to look for a trash can to throw their lunch out inside of.

Swallowing down his saliva that pooled in his mouth the Gunnery-Seargent stood straight as an arrow and saluted while shouting out "NO SIR!" He fully understood that the man in front of him will only be dragged down by his squad being in attendance.

Stepping off of the lowered platform I continue forward on my walk and ignored the D77-TC which had just dropped me off at my chosen location.

Currently it was just a walkway that acted as the docking station of the area that was graced with my presence.

Looking up I see the stairwell that led upwards to the main focal point of the Amity Colosseum that was to mainly act as the location of the Vytal Festival tournament held once a year.

But today, this colosseum was the location of a very special test of Beacon academy.

The Freelancer Entry Test.

Here is where those without any recommendations from any schools will appear and attempt to enter Beacon Academy in an attempt for a better environment to learn the ways of the hunter/huntress.

Naturally I came here for the test.

Taking my time to walk up the staircase that is only accessible by those participating in the main area, I ascend them and make my way to the ground level where the battles usually take place at.

Seeing a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel I would be lying if I said I didn't have the urge to run away 'I've seen this light twice before', but I steeled my resolve and pressed forward out onto the field.

Letting my eyes adjust to the brightness of the sun I decided that this would defiantly be a waste of my time.

Nobody worth mentioning was here.

… All of those participating in today's exam looked my way with what seemed to be disdain and provocative looks and even those that dared to examine my capabilities.

Forming the thought of thinning out the competition I reach to my top right shoulder with my right arm and grabbed at the handle of Kubikirbocho. Only to be stopped.

A voice was heard from the speakers that were contained within the entire colosseum.

The voice said only but two words "You're late."

Focusing my eye sight on the stage that was in the center of the field I had only one thought cross my mind 'Nobody worth mentioning…'
