RWBY - Fall Of Grimm

Chapter 9 - Ruby is born.

The procedure was well over sixteen hours, about three times longer than Raven. The reason I think that it took so long was due to her rather small figure that I do not think is meant to actually carry a child.

She is such a small and precious thing, even though she is in her twenties… Never has her or Taiyang's age been directly addressed. Don't think it ever will as they might be very s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e about it.

Though I myself am now two years four months old. I was older by four months than Yang though I can tell that both me and her will still be in the same year in school as we're so similar in age.

Anyway back to Summer. She is currently in labor and the process was much smoother than before because Taiyang got some experience on his shoulders. Though he was still hollering until the roof flew off due to Summer crushing his hand. She wasn't exactly quiet herself as she was screaming her way through the process.

I'm just happy that I'm not in the same room as the one who is giving birth this time as last time I couldn't get any training in, neither could I do so this time as I'm stuck playing with Yang. Were playing a cooking game and house at the same time with some plastic toys and stuffed animals like a small golden Dragon, green Monkey and purple Phoenix.

Luckily they decided to put us into a room a decent distance from Summer and Taiyang who were screaming in pain for two different reasons. So hearing them scream is no real problem… For Yang as I still have a high Perception.

"Brudder, here food." Yang was still getting used to talking "Mm, thank you. It's delicious." I of course played with her as I pretended to eat whatever came my way, it warmed my heart as I played with the hot headed and childish Yang.

Treating her as a sister is very nice in itself, though at times my a.d.u.l.t side comes out and I act like her father.

"HmHm!" She was happy I said it tasted good and pushed out her c.h.e.s.t. She was truly an innocent child. 'I will make Raven understand that she should have never abandoned you.'

Yang deserved better than this she deserved a complete family, though I have no clue on what job Summer will die on. All I know is that in several years she will leave and never return.

But I have no idea when to try and stop her, but what if I do and she doesn't heed my warning? Then nothing will change so for now all I can do is help my adorable sisters receive the warmest of homes before and after Summer leaves.

"Brudder?" As I was in my depressive state I hear a bight and curious voice, looking up it was Yang and she was wondering wants wrong "Brother is fine Yang…" I placed my hand on her head but felt it wasn't enough so I held her close in a hug and said "I love you" as her head was on my c.h.e.s.t.

Though she was confused, she was happy "I love you Brudder" and she hugged me back; Yang is such an angel!

I'm gonna have a hell of a time adjusting to the future you.

And so like this we played together for several more hours as everyone was caught up in some situations. The only reason we were left together was because we had a somebody come check on us every hour or so, we had snacks and ate our meals alongside napping and playing. So all was well.

But finally after sixteen entire hours, I can tell everything is okay, Summer and Ruby were completely healthy. Thank the Gods!

I feel like I'll cry out of joy…

After two hours of rest, everyone started to move about once more of course that excluded Summer because she was still sleeping.

As for Ruby? Well, she was awake and Taiyang decided to show off his new daughter.

"Yang, Darian c'mere" Hearing that we were called I grabbed Yang's hand and walked with her to Taiyang who was sitting down and holding Ruby in his embrace.

"Daddy?" Yang was the one who did most of the speaking, I only listened in as I walked to Ruby.

"Yang, Darian this here is the new member of our family. Your baby sister, isn't she beautiful?" As he asked his very obvious to answer question he removed the red blanket that Ruby was wrapped up in, there with her eyes completely shut and hair like a black buzz-cut I saw Ruby who was barely more than a couple hours old.

She was adorable, yet in her own way she was very bright you could say.

As I stood their admiring her, Yang went forward and leaned on her Father's arm to get a better look at Ruby. Her eyes were sparkling and you could tell that she was more than just happy but rather ecstatic.

Nothing could ruin her mood, she was as happy as any older sister should be.

"Name?" I rarely talk in Taiyang's presence so he was sorta surprised that I said something but after he calmed down he looked at his second daughter in his embrace and said out "Ruby. Ruby Rose, that is her name Darian"

"Mm, cute." Complementing her name I smiled and came forward beside Yang and looked at Ruby, I then held her hand that was about half or a little less than my own. It felt as if I were to put to much force I could easily hurt her.

I'm sure of it now.

I'am very happy with my new life.

"Mommy~ we came to play~!" Yang was dragging me around as per usual, she was far more active than me so that is natural.

Summer who was nursing Ruby looked up and found both me and Yang coming in though Yang was running "Is that so, then you can come on the bed and I'll read you two a book alongside Ruby."

Summer was a good mother she really had the motherly aura around her at almost all times.

"Mm-Gah!" "Yay~!" Yang interrupted my head nod and thew me onto the bed with her. Though it has been barely a month since Ruby was born the entire household adjusted to the change of pace in an instant.

"Okay then I guess today I'll read-" Yang grabbed Summer's sleeve as she reached for a story book, this was cause Yang had her favorite in hand "This one? I guess I'll read it then."

It was a book that suddenly appeared from nowhere and by that I mean I spent a System Point on it, this book was Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and many more children stories in one. There were even some Hero stories that were included as they were appropriate for children.

Of course I only wanted the best for them as I also bought The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe alongside Wizard of Oz. All of which were read countless times throughout the past two years and it seems that neither Summer Rose or Taiyang Xiao Long were upset with rereading them.

The entire family loved them and that included myself as it was just a wisp of my past life when I myself read them and many other books such as Monsterologist and Harry Potter. Books and Light Novels with Manga and Anime were basically my life outside of the war I was forced into by those damn nations.

Wielding my sword and what skills I learnt I managed to make a name for myself, though I could never match the greats and I never even got to see the end of the war.

Life was good then before the war and at the side of my friends, but it is even better now. I love this life of mine.
