RWBY: The Black Reaper

The news of the attack on Haven academy spread throughout the kingdom and the rest of the kingdoms. How a group of students fought bravely alongside righteous faunuses in order to protect the academy and to stop the purge against humans. How the evil adam died during the battle. In addition to this news, the events of Menagerie and Blake's speech were spread. No one knew the source but regardless of it, it painted the faunus in a positive light as it drove thousands of humans to join the equality protestration for faunus rights. All in all, Adam achieved part of his goal at the end.

A week later, Qrow led his juniors and Oscar to the train station for their next stop before Atlas. As they wanted to deliver the knowledge relic to a safer location.

Inside the train, in one of the wagons. Qrow and the rest were sitting and talking on different topics. It was a little joyful specially after winning something after the effort the put.

" So professor, what can the relic of knowledge answer exactly " Pyrrha asked

" It can give answer to any question as long as it doesn't include people thoughts or future events " Ozpin who was occupying Oscar body answered.

" Ummmm… So if I asked it about the location of Mesa, it can tell me ?? " Pyrrha asked with hopeful eyes.

Her question brought others attention, as they want to know the answer as well with the except of Blake who seemed a little irritated at mentioning his name.

Ozpin gave a sigh and answered " Yes, it can. But as I said previously, it can be used 3 times each 100 years. I used it once decades ago, and Mesa's brother did few years ago. So we have a single question left. I understand your feelings, but I'm sorry , we can't afford to waste the last question to find Mesa "

" I think we should look for Mesa. With him on our side, we will be able to fight Salem. You said it yourself, Mesa probably is stronger even than the maidens. With his help, battle like haven won't be even hard for us " Ruby said positively

" I agree miss Rose, but the issue with Mesa is him being unstable. His actions are unpredictable and too dangerous. You saw for yourself how he attacked Winter. If we were to find him and give him the feeling we are trying to control him. He might turn against us and attack with no reservation. I don't wish for something like this to happen" Ozpin explained patiently

Reminded by Winter's incident, Ruby slumped down in defeat.

" Don't be down kiddo, we will find him later " Qrow said earning a node from Ruby.

" Aside from depressing topics why ….." Yang was about to say something when the entire train shock followed with roars.

" … and grims are attacking " Yang said

Qrow looked out of the window and said " Griffins grim !! why are they here? They are not suppose to appear in this area "

Ozpin was silent for a moment before informing the others " Probably because of the relic, the grims seem to be attracted to the relics"

" You are telling us that now !!!" Yang and Weiss screamed at the same time

A hard fight broke at roof of the train, Ruby and her group in addition to two clumsy huntsmen fighting army of flying griffins.

" What should we do? I can't see the end of them? " Blake screamed as she shot more bullets.

" The relic is attracting them. In addition the passengers fear worsening the situation " Ozpin said

" Ren you can't mask emotions, can you? Why don't you mask the train? " Weiss asked Ren

" I can't do that, I can mask few people at most not the whole train !!!" Ren replied

" What should we do then? " Weiss asked

" Keep fighting !!! " Qrow said

The group kept fighting and holding their ground till an alpha griffin grim joined the fray. The grim fired a huge fireball toward the train separating 3 carriages from the rest of the train. On top of them, Ruby and the rest were standing with the exception of the two clumsy huntsmen. This resulted with the grim focusing on them while few of them following the main train.

" It's okay, few of them only went there. The two idiots can take care of them, beside the cannons can still do some damage " Qrow said

While Qrow was talking he didn't notice the huge alpha grim approaching from behind. The grim breathed fire at Qrow, causing the later to fall. Ruby seeing her uncle get hit hard in the face activated her eyes. A powerful light light spread from her eyes hitting all the grims. The small grims died instantly while the alpha turned into a stone and crashed toward the train. The impact of the alpha caused the whole train to drop down the cliff.

Few minutes later, down the cliff. Everyone was fine with Ruby being slightly tired because of using her eyes. Qrow found them right after they fell as he used his crow form to move faster.

" What was that? " Blake asked, Weiss seemed curious as well. The two of them were the only one not hearing the story of the silver warriors.

Yang gave them a brief explanation, then looked toward Oscar and said " I believe you owe us an explanation "

Ozpin took over Oscar body and said " I'm sorry about the incident, I hoped nothing will happen. I will give you a more explanation later, this is not the right place for us to talk "

Yang didn't seem okay with his answer, she was about to say something else when a noise came from the carriages. It didn't take long before a short old lady appear before them.

" Well, that was not what I expected when I entered the train " The old lady said

" Are you okay? " Ruby asked the old lady

" Could the day get any worse ? " Yang said with slight anger

As if answering her question, strong wind started to circulate around them with black clouds gather in the sky.

" We have to find a shelter, keep the talk to a later time " Qrow said

It didn't take the group a long time to find what it seemed a deserted farm. By the time they reach the closest building. The weather was already at its worst.

The group entered the building, since the door was open and none was answering.

" why none is living here? It doesn't seem it was attacked by the grimms or bandits " Blake asked

" That's indeed weird. Well, as long as its sheltering us. I don't mind it, we can always check that later " Qrow said

" So Ozpin, I think you have an explanation to do " Yang said while staring at Ozpin, she felt like something is wrong with Ozpin and he is hiding something. So, she was bent to find what he is hiding.

" We can talk later, I don't think it is suitable now " Ozpin replied as he looked at Maria. This made Yang reluctantly stop pursuing him for now.

" We are sorry, but it is kinda important topic to us " Ruby apologised to the old lady

" I like you already little girl " Maria said with a warm smile

" So what are we going to do? It is boring to sit around doing nothing. " Yang said

" I know !!! What about story telling " Ruby suggested

" Really?? " Weiss rolled her eyes, obviously not liking the idea

" I have a story book here. Actually, I forgot about it totally ….. Mmmm that's weird, I don't remember who gave me the book. It seems I'm really old that I started to forget huh " the old lady sighed at the end

" What is the book about? " Blake asked curiously

" I don't know, i didn't have the chance to read it before. Let me see …. It is title 'The Truth Of Ozma & Salem'. That is a weird name" Maria said

Ozpin who was on the side took over Oscar body arbitrary. He looked with wide eyes toward Maria before saying " Can I have a look ??!!! "

These words got the attention of everyone, even the clueless Maria who didn't know about Ozpin. Yang narrowed her eyes hearing that. She looked toward the old lady and said " Can you read the book for us please "

Maria nodded and started reading with a loud voice " Dozens of centuries ago, before the birth of dust and the appearance of faunus and aura. Two powerful beings commanded the world. They were called god of light and god of darkness, they were brothers. In that era, Human wielded magic, a power gifted to them by the two gods. At the end of that era, A young hero raised among the humans, his name was Ozma ….. "

For the next hour Maria continued reading the story of Ozma, how he met Salem, how he died and how Salem did everything she could to get him back. How she was punished and the human civilization destroyed. The story talked about relics and Ozma's mission. His reincarnations and his current name which was Ozpin.

The group looked silently at Oscar who was still holding Ozpin. Qrow asked in an angry voice " Is that true? Were you lying to us all this time? What about Salem, is she indestructible? ANSWER ME !!! "

Ozpin answered weakly " It is "

Qrow wanted to bash Ozpin when he heard his answer, but Maria started talking again which made him stop for now.

" The book still not over, there is more pages " Maria said

Ozpin looked up at her, wondering what else there to talk about. His question was answered almost instantly by Maria " Decades and centuries passed, while Ozma still kept trying to take down Salem. In these years, he sacrificed the life of his followers, those who entrusted him with their lives. He sent them to their death knowing the result of his action. But he didn't mind it, it was all to fulfill his twisted self satisfaction. Of those he sent to their end, was Hazel's little sister. The guy you met in Haven a week ago. Another example is related to some of you…. Summer Rose. She died hoping to give a better future to her family not knowing it was all a big lie. In the end she was another sacrifice for Ozpin. To say he tried, to say he put the effort. The guardian protecting the world from the evil is biggest reason for meaningless death "

By this point, Ruby was tearing as she looked angrily toward Ozpin. She spoke with cracking and angry voice " You sent my mother to a mission, knowing she will die ??"

" SHUT UP !!!! …. You took my mother from me …. " Ruby was crying harder. Yang hugged her sister while looked at Ozpin with red eyes. On the other side, Qrow already pulled his weapon out. He truly wanted to kill Ozpin, in a moment of anger, Qrow slashed toward Ozpin with all of his strength. Luckily, Pyrrha noticed him and blocked him.

" Get out of the way. I will kill this bastard!!!! " Qrow said in anger

" You will kill only Oscar !!!!. You heard the story, you can kill him like that " Pyrrha said urgently

Qrow pulled back and roared with anger. The current situation was really depressing. The group was now doubting why they were fighting and if it was worth anything. While Qrow was angry beyond belief and Ruby crying hard.

" There is more written here " Maria said histatingly

" What else left there " Qrow said with dark tone

Maria coughed and continued " For centuries, you convinced yourself that you sacrificed for the greater good. While you only caused more harm. You shielded yourself with your twisted morality and your undying soul. You are nothing but a hypocrite and shameless immortal. When the time comes, I will turn your immortality and morals into your eternal hell. That is the retribution of your hundreds years worth of sins. This is my word and I always keep my words!!!! ... That was the end "

Qrow was silent now and ruby stopped crying. For some reason they felt, whoever was speaking now will truly do what he promised. It was a weird feeling they all had, with the exception of Ozpin who felt fear. A true fear toward the unknown, a fear toward whoever did this.

" when and who gave you this book ? " Qrow asked

" I had for 2 weeks now, I don't know who gave me the book…. Wait!!! I just remembered. He was a young man with a very handsome face and weird eyes. His eyes were extremely beautiful and gave me a feeling like he could see through everything "

Hearing this, they all remembered the monstrous brothers with red eyes. Nora then noticed something on the book, she spoke out " Look at the book cover!!! It says written by M.U "

" Mesa Uchiha ….. " Pyrrha said with a low voice, but everyone could hear her as they all shared the same name

" Wait a moment, you said he gave you the book 2 weeks ago?? We fought in haven academy 1 week ago. How did he know that? Is he working with Salem ?? " Weiss said loudly

Here words brought a dreadful feelings to them. Mesa working with Salem was not a joke. He could pretty much wipe them all out by himself. A fight were Mesa on the opposite side is a hopeless fight. Even without his semblance, he is still strong enough to fight them all at the same time and crush them badly. They s.u.c.k.e.d a deep breath thinking about the possibility of fighting against Mesa.

Yang walked toward Oscar and took the relic and Ozpin didn't stop her. She said " If there is something is worth asking about. It should be this "

" So how do we use this thing !!! Should we just ask or what " Weiss said

The relic started glowing and floating on it own, leaving yangs grip. Yang took a step back as something seemed to come out of the relic.

Light green figure of a woman with a revealing clothes appeared in front of them. She said with a light tone " It is been a while, so what question do you have for me? "

Yang hesitated a little before saying " I want to know …..."

But she was interrupted by Ruby " Wait Yang!!! "

Yang looked at her sister with questioning look when the later walked forward toward the green woman and said " We would like you to tell us everything about Mesa"

Yang the rest were stunned, they didn't actually think about asking such a question.

" You are greedy, little girl. That's a lot to ask about. Well be prepared, this is going to be a long story " The woman said

No one made a sound, only listening carefully. Even Ozpin in his distressed state also wanted to know.
