RWBY: The Phantom Of Remnant

Chapter 30 - End of the First Day at Patch Pt 2

Magna hastily put up his arms and attempted to block the incoming attack. But he majorly underestimated the strength behind Yang's punch.

Her stance was solid and her attack was quick, once her fist landed on Magna, he was instantly sent flying.

Argo and Luna's eyes started glowing as their fur stiffened. 2 huge claws made from fire and ice flew towards Yang.

Seeing the incoming attacks, Yang smirked as she sent out a flurry of rapid punches. The punches carried alot of power as they slowly shattered the 2 claws coming towards her.

Her hair seemed to become wilder as the fight continued. With a loud laugh, Yang dashed towards Emerald as she noticed her trying something.

Unlucky for her, that was exactly what Emerald was waiting for. There seemed to be a split moment where the world around them stopped before continuing on as if nothing happened.

Before she could make heads or tails of what just happened, Yang felt a shock travel through her body as a wave of unimaginable pain assaulted her foot.

Yang started hoping around while crying, rubbing her feet in an attempt to stop the pain. Ruby suddenly appeared next to Yang, panic written all over her face as she tearfully asked, "Yang? What's wrong? Are you gonna die? Please don't die, Yang!"

Emerald almost burst into laughter hearing Ruby. She dusted her clothes off before saying, "Don't worry about her, little red. Your sister just so happened to step on a l*go."

Her words seemed to calm Ruby down as she stopped tearing up. However, she was still worried as Yang continued to cry.

While all this was going on, Magna watched them from the shadows in ghost mode with an intrigued look on his face. He saw how an ordinary pile of sharp rocks suddenly became a small mound of l*go blocks.

Magna knew what her semblance could do and couldn't help but feel his mood fall. He frowned when the thought of her using her semblance on him, tricking him and his family, using them for some agenda. But then, the memory of when they first met popped up.

He could feel the fear and panic radiating off her, the despair when she realised she was about to be sullied and he knew that there was no way in hell for someone to perfectly emulate those feelings unless they had experienced something truly horrible.

While Magna continued to watch on, Emerald suddenly turned her head towards Magna's direction. Her lips curved into a gentle and bright smile as she said, "Magna, you okay back there?"

Deciding not to overthink it, Magna flew over towards them and said, "I'm fine Em, don't worry."

Emerald's chocolate cheeks became a bright red as she softly asked, "E-Em? D-do you mean me?"

Magna didn't feel anything wrong with what he said so he asked, "What's wrong? Do you not like the nickname I gave you?"

Fl.u.s.tered, Emerald flailed her arms around as she shook her head and yelled, "NO! no no no! Nothing's wrong! I love the nickname! I was just… surprised, that's all."

Nodding his head, Magna turned towards Yang, who now had trails of snot and tears running down her face.

Transforming back to normal, Magna started cleaning her face with his clothes. At first, she struggled to get away from him but Magna seemed adamant about cleaning her face. As time slowly went on, Yang suddenly found herself growing sleepy as Magna continued to gently clean her.

Magna could feel a burning gaze aiming directly at him but he ignored it as he tried to calm Yang down. He honestly didn't expect her to cry this hard as she seemed like such a bad badass in the anime that he assumed she'd still be one as a child.

However, Magna quickly realised that he needed to change his way of thinking. Just because they are going to become badass huntresses that save the world doesn't mean they are one right now. They still need to experience the challenges and trials that helped them m.a.t.u.r.e.

Seeing Yang calmly sleeping in his arms with a foolishly smile and drool dripping down her chin, Magna chuckled as he softly said, "Let's head back."

No one disagreed with Magna as everyone started feeling tired. Argo and Luna looked a bit tired as their fluffy tails drooped to the ground while Emerald just cutely yawned as she slightly swayed side to side.

Even Ruby was affected by the atmosphere as she leaned against Magna as they made there way back. However, everyone was suddenly jolted awake as Taiyang and Qrow, followed by Magna's parents burst into the clearing.

Panic and worry was written all over there faces. But the moment they saw everyone was fine and accounted for, the all let out a big sigh of relief.

That relief suddenly became anger as Taiyang glared at Ruby and the half-asleep Yang who still rested peacefully in Magna's arms and yelled, "WHY DID YOU ALL SNEAK OUT!?! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED WE ALL WERE!?! YOU ARE ALL GROUNDED!!!"

Emily hastily tapped Taiyang's shoulder and said, "Tai, you can't just ground my kids…" Magna, Argo, Luna and Emerald all had hope that they weren't grounded. But their hope disappeared as soon as it came as she continued, "Only I can ground my kids. MAGNA!!! GIRLS!!! YOUR GROUNDED!!!"

Magna knew better than to argue with his mother, especially when she was enrage. Just as they were about to start the trek back home, Taiyang glared at Magna with a burning gaze and angrily said, "Yang, now that your awake, I think you can walk back without Magna carrying you, right?"

Yang just returned Taiyang's glare with a pout as she swiftly turned her head and said, "No!"

The fire in Taiyang's eyes grew as he wanted to separate his precious daughter from Magna. Not wanting things to become difficult, Magna carefully let Yang go and said, "Yang, you should listen to your father. He only wants what's best for you."

Hearing Magna's words, everyone stood stunned, especially Taiyang. He even began to feel a bit awkward as he was trying so hard to separate the two while being equally as hard against Magna, yet when his daughter didn't listen to him, the first person to stand up for him was Magna.

The way Taiyang viewed Magna changed slightly as he smiled softly and said, "You know what? Yang's probably still tired. Magna, could you do me a favor and carry her back?"

Taken back, Magna just absent-mindedly nodded as he caught the little girl that leapt back into his arms when her father said it was alright.

Seeing the amused looks coming from his parents, Magna tiredly sighed as he slowly made his way back home.
