Saving the overbearing CEO

Having logged back into the game with no issues, Wen Qinxi prepared to leave the Lin family home for the capital. Though had been absent for only two weeks in the game two years had passed and everything had changed. Lin Mingxu had grown a few inches taller experimenting with his now sprouting facial hair. Madam Lin had lost a bit of weight possibly worrying about her troublesome rascals. Master Lin had obvious stress lines which made Wen Qinxi wonder what Jolie made his character do while he was away.

The entire Lin family and servants except Lin Mingxu stood in the front yard bidding their family's young master farewell. Wen Qinxi was pulled into Madam Lin's bosom as she wailed like a paid mourner at a funeral. "Wuwuwuwu my little Jin Jin what is mummy going to do without you? Wuwuwuwu don't leave your poor mother with these people," she said squishing a helpless Wen Qinxi till he could barely breathe.

Master Lin having been insulted by his wife couldn't resist defending his honor, "These people? Sweet heart haven't l been good to you?" with a wronged expression.

Madam Lin cried even louder saying, "Yessss but you can't make wonton noodles like my Jin Jin wuwuwuwu."

'So all her wailing was for food?' thought Wen Qinxi as he managed to free himself and scan around looking for Lin Mingxu who hadn't returned yet. Since he couldn't afford to wait any longer Wen Qinxi decided to leave a message for him before entering the carriage in preparation to leave.

Just as the carriage set off, Master Lin who had been standing by the gate suddenly noticed the storage chest creakily open a little bit before abruptly shutting itself. He slapped his thigh realising where his second son was and yelled after the coachman to stop the carriage. A confused Wen Qinxi stuck his head out of the window about to ask Master Lin if he forgot something but held back when he saw the man open the storage chest behind the carriage.

Wen Qinxi curiously disembarked and took a look at what Master Lin was glaring at with a black expression. Lin Mingxu was curled up in the tight space covering his face with one of Lin Jingxie's books while holding his breath hoping he wouldn't be found out. "Stupid child!" yelled Master Lin dragging him out by the ear.

"Ah ah ah it hurts! Jin-ge save me!" said Lin Mingxu with a pained expression. Wen Qinxi couldn't help but snicker, the stowaway wanted to go to the capital with him without their parents' consent. It was just too fuckin hilarious.

"Ming Ming, I will see you in two months," he yelled after the poor boy being dragged by the ear back to the Lin Mansion. Wen Qinxi got back on the carriage as they set off for the capital.

Thinking of the stress lines on Master Lin he just had to ask what the system made his character do while he was away so he asked and this was Jolie's response, "I didn't do anything you wouldn't do. Did some bungee jumping, rode a bull once, made a paraglider and paraglide around town, you know, the usual. It was so much fun!"

"That's fuckin hardcore and not in a good way! Were you trying to kill Lin Jingxie and start the world all over again? Such an asshole," said Wen Qinxi reprimanding the system.

"Aiyo....you can scold me all you want but my misdeeds weren't as bad as Qie Ranzhe's. That man is a hundred times crazier than l am hahaha," said an excited Jolie. It couldn't wait to shook Wen Qinxi to death with Qie Ranzhe's dangerous escapades. As per instruction, Jolie had spread the rumour that Lin Jingxie of the Lin family was in a relationship with Lee Jienjie of the Lee family. That rumour not only reached Zhao Huangzhi ears but also Qie Ranzhe's.

This piece of news reached his ears just two months after separating with Lin Jingxie. Feeling like a pathetic man who had been forced to wear a green hat, Qie Ranzhe wanted to go confront Lin Jingxie and clarify his feelings for him but couldn't leave the Ye Lang guild no matter how hard he tried. Having won the fight. he was about to walk out but his path was soon blocked by Ye Lang guild's Grandmaster aka Old Chen. Thinking he could just beat the old man and leave, he launched an attack but was soon struck by reality, the old man subdued a berserk Qie Ranzhe like it was nothing.

The boy had finally encountered someone more powerful than him. As long as he didn't surpass this old man they would always be someone who had enough strength to stop him. The old man told him to stop using his anger to fight otherwise he would never surpass him. Like a good student, Qie Ranzhe took his words to heart and kept his anger in check.

Determined to surpass his master, Qie Ranzhe grew stronger and smarter at an alarming rate leaving the rest of the guild powerless. He was a master strategist approaching each task with great wisdom. It was a well-known fact that as long as you follow Qie Ranzhe's plan you will never fail. In under a year, he was ranked second falling under Old Chen.

His greatest achievement that finally caught the emperor's attention was when he single-handedly snuck into the borders of their northern enemy who had been terrorizing their border towns attempting to expand territory into Qingsong country. The emperor was fascinated by the person surnamed Qie and so invited Qie Ranzhe to the capital to ultimately take over the guild station that directly served the emperor.

The system detailed everything except for the part that Qie Ranzhe wanted to leave the guild because of the rumor. Wen Qinxi was struck dumb by this revelation, he didn't expect Qie Ranzhe to leave for the capital earlier than him. According to the previous plot he had estimated that he did get to the capital a month earlier than him and help him deal with Prince Anzhie. He just hoped nothing big happens before he gets there.
