Second Chance: Overlord

After Quinn Ni had followed him for a while Xion called him over and startled him. Xion told his Uncle Ni that they should find a place to eat since he was currently hungry and had no money whatsoever!

Hearing the Xion was as hungry as him, Quinn Ni took him to a very well-known restaurant in the Sunlight Market Square. It was called 'Monster Restaurant'. The cooks and staff from the Monster Restaurant were dedicated to cooking Beast and Demon Beast meat. Sadly they could only bring the taste potential of Demon Beast meat out by 30%.

Eating Demon Beasts meat while raw, with zero preparation can cause death because of the corrupted aura circling the meat. But, there are cooks who can cook Demon Beast meat and bring out up to 50% of the taste potential and even some good buffs but the success rate was 50-50!

The chef came out of the kitchen personally to apologize to Xion and Quinn Ni. It seems like the Beast Hunter they had hired found a better job with benefits and quit. Meaning, there was no Demon Beast meat or Beast Meat. Deep in thought Xion suddenly had a 'light-bulb' moment.…

"I'll make you a deal Mr. Chef, ten thousand Q for three Beasts and another ten thousand for every Demon Beast.…" Xion said with a negotiators smile on his face….

His family needed money for when they went to the Moon Branch. From what Xion understood ten thousand Q in Rain is like 1,000 dollars on Earth. Beasts are dangerous and hunters put their lives on the line to capture them in the best condition just so people could enjoy some of it. Adding to the good deal Xion just made, the chef also noticed that the child hadn't asked for benefits and Prince Ni was with the kid too. It's a great deal!

"Alright, I accept your terms! May I have your name Young Man?" The buff Chef asked politely. Xion thought it was because Quinn Ni was with him, but, alas, this chef seemed like a good person so why not leave his name for the chef to remember?

"Xion, Quinn Xion…" Xion said a gentle smile on his face. As soon as the chef heard Quinn he bowed even more. The name truly carried influence inside the Sun Branch of the Wave of Life Sect…

"It is a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e for me to meet yet another member of the Quinn Family, I am known as Chrome 'The Demon Chef', I truly hope you are not bothered by the task…" The chef spoke with such politeness that Xion could only smile. He had never received such respect from anyone. But the last words he spoke were filled with anxiety and nervousness, so Xion answered accordingly….

"Of course not Chef Chrome, it'll be a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e if I get to see you cook the meat and then have the honor of tasting it! Let me do this for you, where should I go to find the beasts?" Xion said happily and very nicely making Chef Chrome loosen up a bit.

Chef Chrome was too tense earlier, Xion didn't want anyone to look at him by status so he made an effort to relax Chef Chrome. As Chrome finally calmed down he explained everything about the area where they usually hunt. Quinn Ni was very familiar with the area so he decided to accompany and guide his nephew there!

….Forest of Kai….

The 'Forest of Kai' was outside the Sect Walls on the Sun Branch's side of it. It's a place said to have some common beasts like 'One-Eyed Gorillas' and 'Giant Rabbits'. But from what the Chef and Quinn Ni told Xion there are also some hidden beasts that are of the Demonic kind such as 'Horned Snakes' which apparently are quite agile and as big as a human a.d.u.l.t with powerful skin and very venomous, sometimes Horned Snakes are even bigger than humans, but, Horned Snakes didn't have much meat so ignoring it was possible.

The one Demonic Beast they needed was called 'Demom Wolf' it is dangerous because it's ferocious and ruthless, extremely fast and smart. It's a very cunning beast!

As Xion and his Uncle Ni walked deeper into the forest the first beast they met was the one they were supposed to ignore. First thing Xion did, was to analyze the target. He even came up with a 'Subject Name' for the Horned Snake to record it on his first 'Bestiary Version Rain'. It was a function of the System, the Bestiary Records inputs every single information of the beast, demon beasts and other types of wild enemies such as those formerly mentioned that the owner of the System encounters.

It was a couple of levels higher than Xion. But, that was all it had on top of him, Xion had his 'One Slash Death Lv. 1' technique and was dying to try it on something. This Horned Snake was perfect for practice.

"Uncle Ni, leave this little snakey to me!" Xion said as he punched his left fist into the right palm. He was ready to have a piece of this Horned Snake and raise his cultivation level and even maybe his Body State!

"Are you sure? Xion, you don't have to carry so much of the tasks burdens! Let me give you a hand..." Que Ni proposed. But Xion was ignoring Quinn Ni's words. Xion was just about ready to One Slash Death this damned Horned Snake, the Exp blinded Xion with greed!

It was like everything around him had disappeared he set his Wooden Sword on his hip as if it were sheathed in it's scabbard and stretched his legs a bit and got into the Demonic Sword Stance 1 which he learned a few days ago and Aura began to insert itself into the Wooden Shortsword through his hands. As the Wooden Shortsword was finally enveloped with the purple and gold Demonic Aura Xion crouched as if he was getting ready to run and with a sudden burst of speed in the blink of an eye Xion cut the Horned Snakes head off.

Quinn Ni was shocked… Xion had just killed a Demon Beast whose Realm Rank was four times higher than his! How could a child be so strong?! In all his life he has never seen children as strong as his nephew! Not even Demon Race children are so strong….

*Boom*

The head of the Horned Snake landed hard on the ground. It was like a boulder had fallen from the top of a mountain. It snapped Quinn Ni back to reality and he started searching for Xion.

"Heh, that wasn't even a warm-up! I wonder what's the big deal with the Demon Beasts here, maybe, this one is just weak…"

Xion said dusting of his trousers and frustratingly looking at how the shirt his mother bought for him was also tattered! Damn, he has to take care of his clothes more or he'd have nothing left.

Quinn Ni Saw Xion Lost in thought and was thinking that maybe Xion himself didn't expect to be that strong. He is a child after all, maybe Quinn Ni should teach his nephew how to control his strength!

But, after the next scene unfolded Quinn Ni pushed those thoughts out!!! F.u.c.k.i.n.g crazy!!!

While Quinn Ni observed Xion, the Epic One noticed the System's notifications and smiled. He had leveled up his cultivation state from Warrior Realm Lv. 2 to Lv. 4 and his mental cultivation state evolved from Mind Over Matter Lv. 10 to Mind and Soul Lv. 1. The reason being how he controlled his aura and inserted it into the sword not only enveloping it outside but making it four times more sturdy than steel by reinforcing it from the inside as well!

Impressively his Potential also rose from E to C how f.u.c.k.i.n.g epic was that?! Only Xion could do such an incredible feat in a week!

As he was enjoying this moment of achievements and level ups Quinn Ni yelled…

"Xion! WATCH OUT!" Quinn Ni began running to push Xion out of the way. But, it was too late that damned Demon Wolf was too close already, it was too fast for Quinn Ni.

But when Quinn Ni Saw the Wolf's head sliding down he was stomped. What the f.u.c.k just happened?! He was completely lost, the Demon Wolf was already above Xion it was as huge as a giant bear and yet without even moving his nephew had slashed its head?! What the f.u.c.k kind of shit is that?!

"Ha ha ha, I wonder why I haven't seen anybody train this manual but, I was lucky to had been able to learn it so well…"

In Xion's eyes everything happened in slow motion. His Sensory Lv. 1 leveled up as well and was now Sensory Lv. 3, so Xion had felt the presence of the Demon Wolf. As the Demon Wolf saw its prey it began sprinting like crazy, worthy of a non-intelligent but agile beast. As it was finally gonna eat Xion whole the boy sliced his sword upward with a bit of Demonic Aura enveloping it and cut the Demon Wolves head.

And just like that once again Xion leveled up by two, he was almost at the peak of the Warrior Realm! Nobody his age will be able to compete with him or even inflict fear in his heart.

Xion's [Sensory Lv. 5] picked up at least 20 more wolves surrounding him. Apart from the level up notifications there were others as well, but Xion didn't care right now! All he wanted was to kill all these Demon Wolves and level up, he even forgot the reason why he had come in the first place.

The twenty furiously crazed Demon Wolves were running around in circles surrounding Xion trying to confuse him with their speed. Angry to have witnessed the murder of their pack leader they started clawing at Xion who stood in the middle of them all without moving an inch. They tried to stab and slash with their huge claws but missed, even though the boy stood there and did nothing.

'What the hell?!' Quinn Ni thought to himself. The pack of Demon Wolves completely threw him to the side and ignored him entirely. He wasn't bothered by it, he was actually a bit relieved that they weren't trying to munch him. The only thing was the guilt, he was sure that even though Xion had defeated the first Demon Wolf he wasn't going to be able to defeat a whole pack alone.

The only thing Quinn Ni could do was join the battle and give Xion some back up….

But….

As he was going in the wolves movements abruptly stopped. Xion had grabbed all of them with his Demonic Aura using the new skill he gained when Mind Over Matter evolved into Mind and Soul! [Aura Control Lv. 5]. By using it once to form a bunch of hands made from his Demonic Aura the skill leveled up allowing him to now have amazing control over his Aura.

As the Demonic Aura hands aggressively held the Demon Wolves in place Xion got in the Demonic Sword Stance 1 'One Slash Death' and began reinforcing his Wooden Sword again….

"To think that I would be able to enjoy such a massive Exp income…." Xion said as he attacked flawlessly using his One Slash Death! In an instant every wolf who jumped at him got either their heads slashed off or were cut completely in half. Quinn Ni shook at the scene.

He could not believe it. What the hell?! Would he ever grow used to seeing a twelve year old child be this strong?!

….Monster Restaurant(Sun Branch)…..

The amount of Demon Beast and Beast meat Xion brought back stunned the Chef and the Staff at the Monster Restaurant! In total Xion and Quinn Ni brought back ×40 Giant Rabbits, ×25 One-Eyed Gorrillas, ×10 Horned Snakes and ×45 Demon Wolves.

After the first few Demon Beasts Xion killed he broke through to the King Realm and his Rank was already 3 after finishing the rest.

Even though the Horned Snakes meat couldn't be used to cook because of the poison, it had other great properties for weapons so the Monster Restaurant did the favor of selling the Demon Beasts over to the Blacksmiths in the Sun Branch.

"Here your are Master Xion, 1,200,000 Q, I hope this is enough, you are also always welcome to eat at the Monster Restaurant without having to wait in queue ever…" Chef Chrome was incredibly excited and so after gaining so much money they also got a free Demon Meat course meal.

The Demon Meat was tender and had a particular taste that made it sweet. Xion had never tasted something like it before, he was sure that if his mother knew how to work with Demon Beast meat she'd be able to make even more amazing dishes!

After their meal night fell. And Xion headed to Quinn Lu's hideout to investigate a bit. He had to find that herb which was all bought by that Quinn Lu. Without that treating his Gramps condition would be impossible….
