Secret Wife Is A Crazy Beast

Chapter 169 - She got what she deserved (TW: mentions sėxuȧŀ ȧssault)

Mana had been trying to maintain a low profile. She had been working cases that required her to travel more and ȧssist instead of lead. She also moved to a smaller apartment outside the city and changed her cellphone number.

She knew without a doubt that Lila had forsaken her. She had been used. Her jealousy towards her own best friend had been used. How could she have been so stupid?

Despite knowing that, her heart still burned in anger towards Lina instead of Lila. Why was her rage so misdirected? She hated them all, all of them who had it so easy.

She looked down at her phone, as she received a text.

It was from an unknown number.

*I know what you did* the text read.

Mana's heart sped up. The text was definitely a threat. She suddenly felt light-headed. What if she had just picked a fight with the one of the biggest tycoons in the world - Shen Moshi?

She had tried to get his precious wife defamed and humiliated...she could have also been rȧpėd. That was not just a horrifying personal attack but also a huge criminal offence.

As a lawyer, how could she not know that? Now what was worse, rotting in prison or being tortured personally by Shen Moshi - and who knew what that would mean?

She quickly jumped into her car and called her boss.

"Hi boss, I am ready to take that pro bono case in Country L. Yes, the one in the slums in their district C....no it's alright, I can go as soon as possible." she mumbled into her phone.

Could Moshi Corporation have tapped her cell provider and be listening in on this call too? They found her new phone number, didn't they?

She quickly hung up and rushed home to pack her stuff. She let out a scream of frustration and slammed on the steering wheel of her car in anger.

Earlier, to get ahead in her firm, she tried to take up as many cases with the bigger clients, or ȧssist the star big shot lawyers. She had done her best to avoid the pro bono, charity cases in poor countries. They were all slogging and hard work with no recognition.

She had been trying so hard to get ahead unsuccessfully and then watched her best friend effortlessly wake up from a coma and suddenly be married to the most doting, prince of a husband.

And now once again, she was being chased out because of Lina.

The seed of hatred in her heart had been long nurtured and its thorns continued to grow.

Back at the Moshi Corp Capital Offices, Ayu laughed humourlessly as she tossed aside one of the many burner phones in the telecom department as she walked out.

She didn't plan actually doing anything to punish Mana yet, but the psychological torture she would inflict on her would be worth it.  .

Mana would keep running and trying to get away in fear, not knowing when revenge would be exacted upon her. If Ayu was good at anything, it was getting the job done. But the devious idea had come from her boss, the devil himself.

As much as he enjoyed punishing those who hurt or so much as looked at his wife wrong, he was adept at playing mind games and enjoyed inflicting fear. Mana had got what she deserved and she had nowhere to hide from him.

And most importantly his wife was safe from a poisonous snake. Besides, Ayu was more than happy to give Mana what she deserved for trying to hurt her precious Lina. Although that was the one and only thing in this world Shen did not have a clue about.

And Ayu intended on keeping it that way.

~at the Lim Villa~

"Son, please tell me it wasn't you. This is not the way we do things. I taught you that" the old master Lim pleaded with his son, wishing with all his heart that the terror attack was not part of one of the younger Lim's schemes.

Loren Lim looked at his father with darkness in his eyes. His old man had promised him that the business would now be his, and he wouldn't interfere. Even though he was still in the know, there were some things his father was not supposed to have a clue about.

Especially these attacks that had been orchestrated for the sole purpose of creating unrest between the two countries.

"What are you talking about, father? Are you sure you aren't confused? It tends to happen in one's old age..." Loren said jokingly, although his father could see the dangerous look in his eyes.

In that moment, he knew, Loren knew exactly what he was talking about.

"It was you, after all..." he said quietly. His poor wife, she would toss in her grave. She had left this world, making him promise to raise their children well. But he had failed.

No doubt, Magnolia Holdings did most of their business underground and he himself hadn't stopped to think twice when it came to hurting people to achieve what he wanted.

But this had gone too far. This was outright mass murder.

"Father, please come to your senses and talk straight to me. You sound delusional." Loren's voice was cold as steel.

"There were women and children there, Loren..." he whispered, his voice shaking.

"You, there!" Loren beckoned a maid, as she hurried over at her master's order.

"Take father back to his chambers. He needs rest, and isn't feeling well" he said shortly, as the old master Lim stumbled slightly, still reeling in shock.

"I'm fine!" old master Lim bellowed as he stormed away, his heart pounding at the realisation that his son was truly a monster.

Loren had inherited the worst of the Lim genes. The branch families that he had suppressed, they all were the same.. Ruthless, and without conscience.
