Servants With A Modern Weapon

Chapter 17 - On The Way To Costellia

A black carriage with a chrome alloy wheel appeared in front of us. Although, this carriage didn't have any horse. This carriage was powered by a 6.2L EcoTec3 engine. In front of the carriage, there was a symbol similar to a "plus." The carriage had a black-tinted window all around it. On the back, there was a plate with random numbers and inscriptions; "Suburban" and "Premiere."

"It's a car. The name is Chevrolet Suburban. I will teach you how to drive it other times, but for now, let's just think of ourselves first," I said to Maria as I finished the summoning.

I grab the key from my pocket then opened the baggage door. After I opened the door, then I flip the third-row seat. I commanded everyone, "Garth, Cecile, help me moving the luggage to the back!" I said

We split between the broken cargo and the unbroken one. Luckily, most of the fractured cargo was food, so we didn't care too much about it. We moved the cargo from the carriage to the car back and forth. After that, we were thinking about what we should do with the dead bodies and the broken carriage.

"We should burn them," I said as I put my right hand on my chin.

"With the dead bodies?" Cecile asked as she pointed her hand at the dead bodies of the knight.

"Yes, I don't want to raise suspicions," I said as I started to pill up the dead bodies besides that wagon.

"Roger that Wilson," Garth said while saluting to me.

We spent some time to move the knight bodies to the carriage. Maria looked at us who were moving the body back and forth. She supervised our work. After all, she couldn't do all the dirty work even the fact said that she could.

"Ok, everything is done, everyone let's get in the car," I said as I opened the black door of the car. Everyone entered the vehicle, Garth sat on the front, and the girls were sitting on the second row. I entered last since I'm the one who was going to burn the remains of the carriage and the knights.

"[Flamethrower]," A blast of flame appeared in front of my hand. The fire burned the carriage and the dead bodies. I made sure that all of the remains burned well. After that, I got in the car. I pressed the brake pedal then hit a button to start the engine.

"The chair is so comfortable," Cecile said from the second row.

"Yes, it's far even from my everyday carriage," Maria added.

"You ain't see nothing. This car has an armor that can withstand .50 bullets and an armored glass too so arrow won't be a threat anymore longer," I said proudly as I tilt my head backward.

The armored plating was made from a special alloy that very lightweight, but stronger than steel. The glass had no difference from regular glass because the glass was made from a special alloy so that it retains its thin appearance and more armored than standard ballistic glass.

"Wow, something more comfortable than a carriage and armored too. You never failed to surprise me, Wilson," Maria said as she chuckled.

"There is something more," I rotate the air conditioner button. A cold breeze started to blow from multiple holes of the car.

"What with this cold breeze?" Garth asked me curiously.

"It's the air conditioner," I said as I put my hand in front of one of the holes.

"What does it do?" Cecile asked as she leaned her body back to the seat.

"Well, it can make the air cooler or hotter," I said as I turn the knob back and forth.

Spots of water begun to fall down to the car. I turned on the wiper. The flow of water being distributed to the side of the glass. The rain started to fall down to the ground. We could hear the sound of rain hitting the roof.

"Wow, the outside is raining, but we are parched," Garth said as he put his hand on the glass.

"I know for the fact that carriage doesn't protect us completely from rain," I said

"Wilson, can you turn the conditioner lower?" Maria asked me from the back seat.

"You see the button in the middle of both of you. Rotate it to the blue side, and it will be colder," I told her.

She spun the button then listen to my further instruction.

The air got colder, "Nice," She said.

I nodded to my right and saw Garth already fell asleep, "Garth must be tired, he protected you from the arrow haha," I said to Maria.

"Well, Cecile has fallen asleep aswell, [Tornado] cost a lot of mana," Maria said to me, and I saw Cecile's s beautiful face leaning at the seat.

"The seat can be heated as well, just press the button near the middle of both of you," I told her.

She pushed the button and had that surprise face because the heat was so hot.

"Press it again until you find your setting," I told her.

She pressed the button multiple times, then found the best setting for her, which was the medium setting.

"Wilson, may I go to sleep as well?" She asked me.

"Sure thing, I could drive alone," I said to her, "Goodnight Maria," I turned on the radio.

The radio has a signal which was surprising, I turned it off again since the rest of them were sleeping. Wait a minute that means that I could summon a smartphone that functions as a regular one.

"[Ultimate Summon]," I said.

A smartphone appeared on my hand, it has a full 8G signal and a Google function aswell. The battery didn't show any percentage; instead, it showed an infinity symbol.

"Goddamn it, why I didn't think about it earlier," I said to myself as I surfed on the internet.

I grabbed an earphone from the compartment of the car and plugged it in. I watched some videos while being accompanied by the ambient sound of the rain. I watched so long until I realized by reading the clock.

The clock said it was already 10.30 so it is even not close to midnight, but it is relatively common for a teenager to sleep at that clock.

I put the transmission and hit the pedal gas. As I thought the car could handle bumps better than a carriage. I hold the steering wheel with my left hand then turned on the GPS with my left hand.

"Wow, it's working," I looked at the GPS.

The screen said the trip was 60 km to go. I turned on the seat heater then leaned back to my seat while driving with the cruise control set on 40 kmh.

The kids were sleeping very comfortably on their chairs. The bumpy cement block road didn't annoy the suspension of the SUV.

I used headlights for lighting. The road was relatively safe for our trip, and Maria wasn't lying. The road was getting better and better.

The road was empty mainly because road traffic was relatively light on this road. I saw the clock, and it's read at 11.45. The road view was pretty dull; only grass, and occasionally I saw a tree.

"Zzzzzzzz," That was Garth' s snore.

"Did he has an allergic reaction to cold," I ignored it.

The road bumps almost nonexistence thanks to the Soft suspension of the SUV. In front of me appeared a wall of a city on the horizon. From our last trip, I could say that that town was the Costellia town.

I drove the SUV until we finally arrived at the city gates. The city guard approached me with a sword on his hand.

"Goodnight sir. How may I help you?" He said while holding a lantern on his right hand.

I opened the window, and it slid down automatically.

"I'm this wagon driver, in the back, there is Duke Alex's daughter," I said even though I knew that this is far from a wagon.

"What is your purpose of entering? "He asked, coldly.

"She entered the academy this year, lucky girl," I said to him.

"Yeah, the rich one, may I see the invitation?" He said as he put his hand near the window.

I grab a light brown envelope with a blue candle stamp from the compartment, "Here you go sir," I handed him the envelope.

"Hmm, looking legit, what is your name?" He asked me coldly.

"Wilson, may I take back that letter please?" I asked him politely.

"Sure, here you go, GUARDS OPEN THE GATE!!!" He shouted.

The gate opened, and the guards do a hand salute to me. I closed the window then drive through the city wall. The town was already dead only inn and bar that were still shining. Most of the city road was full of drunk people.

The clock read 11.55, which means its almost midnight. Well, I didn't dare to wake them up, so I went searching for a parking space.

The engine was switched to quiet mode. The engine used mana instead of gas in this mode. I drove around the town looking for a place to park my car.

I looked around and found an empty land near the inn. I parked the car there and relaxed for a second. I went out of the car while I left the engine turned on. I walked to the front of the inn.

"The Pillowood," I murmured as I read the sign.

I entered the inn and got greeted by a beautiful elderly woman, "Welcome to the Pillowood. How may I help you?" She greeted me.

I looked around the interior. The light brown round table was placed near the window, and near the window, there were lots of small plants in a pot. The reception desk was placed in the middle of the room.

"How much for a room?" I asked her politely.

"The low-cost room cost 2 copper coins, the standard one cost 9 copper coin, and the luxury one cost 2 silver coin," She said while smilling.

Exchange rate in this world works like this:

1 platinum coin= 10 gold coin

1 gold coin = 10 silver coin

1 silver coin= 10 copper coin

Simple right?

"How many beds does each option has?" I asked her again.

"The low cost has one large bed, the standard has 2 medium beds, and the luxury one has 2 large beds," she said.

"2 luxury room please," I said as I handed her a gold coin.

"Thank you, here is your change," She said as she put 6 silver coin on top of the table.

"Where is the key?" I asked her.

"Oh, almost forgot, here you go," She handed me two keys.

The keys had a keychain that shows the room number.

"Room 15 and room 16," I read the keychain.

"Thank you," I put the key into my pocket.
