Servants With A Modern Weapon

Chapter 66 - Heather Base

Tuesday, 1300 hours.

As usual, I tried to move my hands, and I feel something soft on my hand. Just like I expected, the thing that I held was the hospital bed. Garth stood by my side, apparently. I tried to open my eyes wider and saw him was reading a book.

He noticed me and approached me while putting the book on the table near the sofa.

"Heya Wilson, welcome to the Heather base. Apparently, you were making a fountain of blood right after summoning this base," he said to me.

"Fountain of blood? What do you mean?" I asked him.

"Right after you summoned this base, blood pouring from every hole of your body, including your mouth, nose, and ears. Well, your uniform is in the laundry as we speak. You've been sleeping for 1 day," he explained as I looked down at my hospital clothes.

"Don't worry, though. I brought you another one," he said as he handed me down the combat uniform.

"Thanks," I said.

"The nurse will come soon to remove that IV bag from your body. Don't worry, the nurse only transfused blood to your body," he said as he pressed a red button.

A nurse came soon and removed the catheter from my hand, and bandaged it. I got up from the bed and headed to the shower because my body was stinks of blood.

After I took a shower, I changed to a CADPAT uniform. Garth wore the same uniform too. He also held a car key on her left hand. He opened the hospital door then I followed him from behind.

"Wow, how deep are we from the ground?" I asked him while gazing at a plate that reads "B15". It also had the same meaning as floor minus fifteen, but I just want to ask him.

"Well, about 40 floors down from the ground and 30 floors from the ground. It also includes several huge utility lifts, which could hold the An-225 Mriya. Some lifts were available for the personnel, and there are a lot of ramps for a car to move here and there," he explained to me.

"How big is this place actually is?" I asked Garth again.

"Bigger than our AFB obviously since this base also has manufacturing plants. It also has 4 main runway for our big cargo jets and our jet fighters. The underground consists of manufacturing plants mostly and power plants. It also has storage for our armored vehicle. It also adds several more divisions in our ground forces. You also add the two highway that connects between Heather base and our AFB. Both are 100 km long and has 26 lanes each. The first is above the ground, and the other is below the ground, in the B18 actually," He further explained to me.

"Wow, Nice one," I said as I walked out of the hospital and entered a room like a parking bas.e.m.e.nt but has a higher height than usual. About 30 meters, I think. The units had an exercise here and there, but the air was colder than outside because of the improved NBC that this base used. There were a lot of luxurious cars and military trucks moving on a road in front of us. Even an MBT was moving on the street in front of us.

"Garth, is that the car? Could I drive it?" I said as I saw the Alpina B7 that was parked in a parking spot in front of us.

"Sure, Wilson, just be careful not to hit the MBT in the front," He said as he entered the car from behind and threw me the car key.

"Sure," I said as I entered the driver's seat and started the engine.

"Where are Maria and Cecile?" I asked him.

"They've gone back to the AFB. We are the only one that still here," Garth said as he grabbed a smartphone from his pocket.

"Where did you get that?" I asked him while pointing at the smartphone.

"From the manufacturing plant below us, I get it since this base is like a maze without a map. Don't worry, I know how to operate it, though," He said as he operated the smartphone.

"Ok," I said as I put the gear to "D" and switch the driving mode to comfort mode. I hit the gas and headed to the nearest ramp to go to B18. I want to head back to the AFB since we had to do an op today.

"Wilson, Why don't we pick up Alexa first, she is in the B16 floor," Garth said to me.

"Sure, where is she?" I asked him.

"In the officer's quarter, though her personal quarter is on the third floor," Garth replied to me.

"Ok," I said as I turned right around the corner of an MBT parking spot.

In front of us, there was a ramp for going down. I headed to that ramp and led to the B16. The cars rolled down slowly in that parking lot bas.e.m.e.nt ramp. An MBT passed by us on our left, and the commander waved his hands at us.

I turned left after the ramp and headed for the officer's quarter, which was a large building near the ramp and contained a parking spot with a lot of luxurious cars on it. I saw Alexa was relaxing in the park in the living quarter.

I parked the car in front of her and asked her, "Alexa, want to go back to the AFB?"

"Sure," She said as she entered the back of the car, and at the same time, I saw a black Ducati 1199 parked on the parking lot of the living quarter.

"Whose bike is that?" I asked them.

"It's no one, you want the key?" Alexa said as she showed a key from her pocket.

"Thanks," I said as I took the key from her hand and got out of the car. I headed to the receptionist and ask for a helmet, jacket, and protector for riding that bike.

The receptionist gave me all of the things that I need then I wore it and got on the bike and turned it on. I rev up the engine, and with a comm kit in my helmet, I challenged him, "The that arrive at the AFB will have to pay for the beers."

"Sure," Garth said as he got to the driver seat and rev up the engine while putting the car into the sport mode.

We revved up the engine and did a wheel burn on our vehicle, then we started to accelerate as fast as we could and started to move our vehicle as soon as we could.
