"Let's be heroes."

When I heard what Max had said, I was shocked,but looking at his face,I didn't have the courage to decline his words.

"Max...now that you gained some strength , you need to be careful. You can't become a hero immediately."

"I know,but I will train and then I will help you protecting the city."

"It's complicated. I'm not a normal hero. I will kill bad guys if the situation demands.

"But,you save lives right?"

"Yes. I save lives , but with a price. You can't be a hero in Gotham without blood on your hands.(Batman can do it) So if you want to be a hero like me you need to learn how to fight with the intend to kill."

My words shocked Max , but his determination grew bigger.

"I decided to become one. I will follow you . Alex, I can help you. We can help the city. I know we can. It doesn't matter if I have to kill. I'll do it,maybe you should know something about my past."

"I'm listening."

"When I was adopted by that couple ,I thought that I'll be in a normal family,but I was wrong.

They were mercenaries.

I was trained to join their band of mercenaries. I'm prepared for this type of life.

Plus ,I... killed them when they tried to use me as a puppet for their own enjoyment and when I found that they sold my sister to someone just to pay their debt"

Hearing his story,I was shocked , angry and sad , but now I know that Max suffered a lot more than me.

"Max, let's do it. Let's change the city.

After we left that apartment , we decided to eat somewhere in the city. As we sat at our table, we heard the news on the TV.

[Dear viewers, we inform you that Gotham Museum is currently robbed.Please stay away from it]

Hearing the news , I looked at Max and he looked at me. Nodding at each other, we paid the bill and rushed towards Gotham Museum.

Running at full speed , we managed to reach the museum in five minutes.

When we arrived there,the GCPD was fighting with some thugs and they were losing badly.

As seconds passed, more and more police officers were injured.

Seeing that his people were injured ,Gordon decided to finish this fight once for all.

"Stop at once or we will shot to kill."

Hearing his words, the thugs lough at him.

Meanwhile Alex and Max arrived at the scene. Alex was in his costume while Max was wearing a mask , which was bought while they were running.

Approaching the police officers,Alex was thinking about a plan, while his shadows were ready to attack.

Looking at the two masked people approaching them , the officers were getting anxious. Why would be more people involved in this mess?

Seeing that the duo was walking towards him ,Gordon aimed at them.

"Stop! This is a dangerous zone. Please return to your home."

Looking at him , Alex spoke.

"You don't need to be so anxious. We are here to help."

"You?No chance .I can't take the risk.."

Without waiting for him to finish the sentence, Alex jumped at the thugs followed by Max.

When they were five meters away from the thugs, the shadows attacked, binding the thugs in place while the duo punched them.

One thug managed to escape from the shadow grasp and shot at Max.

When Alex heard the gunshot,he was already too late to respond.

Max was shot in the c.h.e.s.t.

Seeing his sworn brother injured, Alex vision become red and he ordered the shadows to drag the thug to hell.

When the shadows received the order ,they rushed at the thug and dragged him in a alley.

Approaching his friend , Alex was scared and he blamed himself for this accident.

"Don't die on me buddy."

"I won't ...die ...so easily. I will be fine after some rest. Trust ...me."

From the side , Gordon and the police looked at the scene with his eyes wide open.

"He's alright?"

"I hope so."

"Who are you people?"

Without waiting for Alex to respond , Max raised his body and spoke.

"I don't have a name right now, but you can call me Alpha."

"I'm The Shadow."

'What? How can you sit up? You were shot!'

"Magic?"

"Magic my a.s.s. We're leaving."

Without waiting for Gordon respond, Alex picked Max and disappeared in the night."

Looking at them , Gordon sighed and ordered the police to take the thugs to the police section.

Meanwhile Alex and Max were sitting face to face.

"Explain?"

"What?"

"You were shot , but you are healed . What's happening?"

"Do you remember when I was injected?"

"Yes."

"Apparently that serum was some sort of gene modification . I got a healing power, super strength and super reflexes."

"We need..."

Before I was able to finish my sentence, Max start twitching and he start growing fur, yes fur no hair ,but fur..Two minutes later, his transformation was completed. Max looked like a wolf, with fur over his body, sharp fangs and claws. With this appearance he would surely scared almost any human (racism detected).

Raising his head, Max looked at me.

"I'm a monster no?"

"You're a mutant , not a monster . You have a power that would help you save lives."

Looking at his hands , Max screamed.

"I'm a f.u.c.k.i.n.g werewolf. That's amazing. I'm a superhero like you."

Seeing that his happy , I decided to play along.

"Yes you are . Let's go home."

"Let's go. I need to find more about my power."
