''You want to send ME there?'' She first started chuckling then laughing and then waved her hand and went out of the dream, stunning The Ruler.

''Impossible... No one ever could escape my power... Isaa...'' he glanced at the girl that just yawned and shrugged.

''You just pissed her off. I don't think your idea of about five years was feasible or us separating. Those stories you can tell other children, not us. I think you should watch the shields a bit more. They are wavering... It seems you have more people working against you than you think and it's better if we don't involve ourselves there. About this world, we will take care of it for the next ten years... Don't you worry and enjoy...'' Then she disappeared as well making him rethink about his own power.

Since when did his power become this weak?

He had no idea that she just needed to wake up. That's it.

It had nothing to do with power than her own ability to control her own bodily functions, among them actually our own body. She pinched herself awake and Isaa got awake as Kendra pinched her as well.

With teary eyes, she glanced at the red spot on her hand and pouted. ''Sis...''

Kendra gently blew the spot and patted her head. ''Sorry, but we definitely can't get involved now. I rather he becomes careful and even suspicious. They went there to the other worlds and harmed many living forms and I fear that he had no idea about it.''

''You checked his mind?'' Isaa paled suddenly.

''The moment he tried checking my mind he opened his mind and that is his weak point. So I could check even his darkest secrets. he did get involved in killing many but only when they deserved it. But he never caused a whole bunch of living forms to be turned into dust and nothingness. The next ten years will be the only time when we can rest. It will take us quite some time to find the real problem behind the real trouble and how come they suddenly attack the outer lines? What is the real reason and why do I feel uncomfortable about the phoenix story...'' Kendra was always honest with Isaa.

Isaa jokingly suggested. ''You might be the mother and I might be the chick or the other way around.''

Kendra thought about that possibility and shook he head. ''No. We would have remembered just like we remembered other reincarnations. There must be a larger story behind it all.''

Isaa was just joking openly but actually had that idea when she felt Kendra's energy fluctuating. What if Kendra is reincarnated small phoenix that was left all alone and had a grudge like Kendra has? Maybe is Kendra angry with all their parents because of that reason and doesn't want to become grown-up and fall in love for fear to become like that as well?

But Isaa was overthinking. Kendra was actually not angry at parents that took care of their children or punished them for being naughty, then at those that thought it was easiest to give up a child than to work hard to grow it steadily.

She didn't hate Eni's parents just feared that they will change their minds and use the poor girl and her ȧssumption was not far.

Artesy stood outside for some time and when he heard them finally getting ready to sleep he acted like he just arrived. He hid his angry eyes from his wife and mother behind the tired expression and went to sleep not long after,

Neither of both dared to touch him and just put a few more branches on fire to keep the steady temperature.

What both forgot was that usually Eni held the fire on the whole night and would rekindle fire before everyone woke up. But this time they all went to sleep and all three woke up before the first light rose over the gray sky.

''Eni, you damnable girl, why didn't you make a fire?'' Tasa growled as she shook under the thin blanket they made. They didn't make thick blankets as Kendra told them then two thin ones and most of the cotton was left for the baby.

Arsety snorted and stood up. ''She is at that house, where else?'' .

Hearing his words the old woman became angry. ''No matter if she apprentices or not, it's her duty...''

''Mother, do you know what that contract means?'' He calmly stopped he rin cursing and cleaned the ashes and then restarted the fire.

''Documents? Do you mean that piece of paper? It's just a paper, burn it.'' She shrugged it off.

He sighed and shook his head. ''I can burn it but can the one in that house be burned, what about the one in Village Head's house, City Hall or Royal Library?''

''What a humbug. Who would believe that?'' She stubbornly refused to accept the facts.

''You don't have to believe. Xar has special birds that he uses to send messages to the City Hall and the Royal Place. If he said he will send contracts, that means contracts are already sent. Those that break contracts can be punished from being beaten up to death.'' He calmly explained and added first thinner branches and then two larger logs to hold the fire.

Both women glanced at him in disbelief. Like something came to her mind she jumped from the bed. ''Does that mean I have no right to take that brat back?''

''That child is my daughter. Stop calling her brat. Yes. She cant come back or listen to our words for the next ten years. That is what apprentices do. I suppose to be an apprentice as well when the war started, but I became a soldier and I was bȧrėly thirteen. Mother, she now belongs to them and afterward, we have no right to speak about her own private matters as I agreed to it. The two girls will arrange their life as they want. Don't make troubles. If you do Xar might get angry and we might get kicked out of here. Where to go then? To Capital and beg?'' His voice became colder and colder and made both women shive even if the room was now cozy warm.

He stood up and went to relieve himself when it downed to Tasa. Her granddaughter won't come back and won't help when the time comes than work for others. But sneaky light passed her eyes. If that girl worked then she gets paid... right?

She stood up and went straight to the house without Arsety's knowledge and made the trouble that he just warned her about...
