I'm in the Westward Journey

Chapter 20 Xuanzang, What Are Buddhas and Demons

"I don't know what the third prince has learned here!" The old monk Qian'an asked very humbly.

"It's nothing, I just ask Master Xuanzang to clarify my doubts." Li Ke said it lightly. "

The old monk Qian'an looked at the third prince of the Tang Dynasty, first of all he was surprised,

Because there are many temples in the capital city of Chang'an,

There are quite a few eminent monks who don't go there to explain their doubts,

On the contrary, it is unreasonable to go to a temple in such a small place to seek solutions.

This one is also strange.

The second is that he came here, not looking for the elders here,

Instead, go directly to Chen Xuanzang, which is the second oddity.

My apprentice Jiang Liu'er has always kept a low profile.

It is rare to go out of this place, and it is impossible for his reputation to spread to the capital Chang'an.

Not to mention that the third prince came here admiringly.

The old monk Qian'an knew that his apprentice would definitely be famous in the future,

But now he is unknown, how did the Third Prince find this place?

But this old monk from Qian'an has sharper eyes,

He saw that Li Ke had no malice towards Chen Xuanzang,

don't say anything anymore,

Instead, the space was left to Li Ke and Chen Xuanzang,

He went to find another meditation room to practice meditation and recite scriptures.

Only Li Ke and Chen Xuanzang were left in this meditation room.

Both of them are about the same age, and they are both young and full of vigor.

Li Ke looked at Chen Xuanzang with the eyes of the soul of two lives,

It was found that Chen Xuanzang's eyes were as clear as water.

These eyes reminded Li Ke of the phrase "There is nothing in the first place, where is the dust!"

Sure enough, in the real Journey to the West,

Only then did he realize that the Tang Monk in front of him was not like the one on TV.

"I don't know what doubts Your Highness has, do you need a poor monk to clarify your doubts?" Chen Xuanzang smiled and invited Li Ke to sit down.

"I also read some books when I was young, and as I grew older,

I became more and more confused, what is a Buddha and what is a demon?

What is a demon again?

Demons cannibalize people just like people eat chicken, duck and fish.

People can eat chickens, why is it wrong for chickens to eat people? "Li Ke cut to the chase.

"Whether it is a Buddha, a demon or a demon, all in one thought,

As the saying goes, all appearances are false,

If you see all appearances and non-appearances, you will see the Tathagata. "Chen Xuanzang explained lightly.

"What do you mean?" Li Ke wanted to dig deeper.

"Buddhas, demons, demons, and immortals are not Buddhas, demons, demons, and immortals.

It is called Buddha, Demon, Demon, Immortal,

All sentient beings have the roots of wisdom and can become immortals.

Everyone can become a Buddha, and everyone can fall into a demon or a demon.

But in the heart, the key lies in how to subdue the heart. "Chen Xuanzang started his conversation with Li Ke at the beginning of citing scriptures.

"If I see someone who wants to kill a woman and child, I won't stop it. Is this heart a Buddha or a demon?" Li Ke countered directly with an example.

"The desire to kill is a demon, and seeing death without saving him is also a demon." Chen Xuanzang said.

"If the husband of the woman, and the father of the child, killed his whole family,

What about his revenge?

If I stop it, won't it make that person angry and let the murderer go free,

Great revenge cannot be avenged..."

"There is no right or wrong in the world, only cause and effect,

My father was murdered, my mother was humiliated, if I feel angry,

I must kill the thief with my own hands,

Even if it is hacked into pieces, it cannot change this cause and effect.

It's better to let go. "Chen Xuanzang also gave an example.

"Let it go? How to let it go? If I behead you now,

It is said that this is the cause of what you planted, so that there is such a fruit,

How about you? "Li Ke retorted.

Faced with this rhetorical question, Li Ke was stunned for a moment,

"Every effect of action has a cause,

The two of us have no grievances or enmities, and the third prince has no intention of killing me.

There is no cause, let alone effect. "Chen Xuanzang found another way and didn't answer directly.
