Slayer Of Babylon

Chapter 14 - Tempest

It was noon and sunrise landed on Eric's eyes. Eric grunted and tried to turn to the right to sleep peacefully but he felt a soft sensation on his body.

Eric opened his eyes and tried to find the force of the sensation. 'Ugh. Sleepy' thought Eric as his eyes blur fading.

When he saw the reason for the sensation, he looked at the ceiling blandly. "Ugh, what a night. I do not feel my lower body at all" he said quietly.

A red beauty was sleeping on his c.h.e.s.t with a satisfied smile on her face. Eric laughed when he saw the stupid smile on Irene's face as he started to stroke her hair.

"Okay, sleepy head wake up. It's noon already," said Eric with a sweet voice. After a minute or so, Irene opened her eyes a little. She yawned and tried to stand up but fell on Eric's c.h.e.s.t again. "Just a little more," she said quietly. "Come on, we already late," said Eric as he pinched her cheeks.

Irene grunted and stand up. Her n.a.k.e.d body was on Eric's view while sunlight streamed towards her godly body. Eric dazed for a while then shooked his head. 'No. I can't take round two right now,' he thought.

After they take a little shower with each other while Irene was still trying to wake up, they dressed and went to Irene's office.

- 1 week later -

Eric was in the library. After the war between kingdoms end, he started to search for a way to win against dragons from the west. He started to learn enchantment from Irene whenever he can, even though it's still lacking. 'She seems to be busy to complete her magic. I rather want to see it's full power.'

While he was thinking that, he also thinking about how can he be strong enough to protect Irene and his kingdom. He found an interesting book. 'Even I can't say that I can win against a dragon,' he thought. 'So, maybe this book may help,' he added.

The book was about the ruins. 'They were even here before the dragons, at least it's what the book says,' he thought and started to read.

'Matherda Ruins were here even before the first dragons themselves. They were the ruler of the land and sea until one day they made a mistake that anger the god. They broke one of the biggest taboo that it still unknows today's time and day.

After god's wrath they almost faced extinction, God left two people; one man and a woman. They somehow managed to rebuild their city and got their numbers again.

But even though they already faced the god's wrath, Matherda people did not learn their lesson at all. New generations thought it was a legend to scare people to learn the powerful magics and laws so they tried what their ancestors tried to do.

When they broke the taboo again, God did not give them a second chance and released his beast from his dimension on them.

After their destruction; god left his beasts here and they started to live here. Nowadays they are known as Dragons. As for the god; there is no name or a clue what it is but because it is the reason why dragons here, we called him The Dragon God Ejder.'

'Woah' thought Eric. "I can understand magic, but laws? Are there laws in this world?" he thought.

'Their ruin is at The West Continent, next to the Mount of Vulcans. After a serious attempt to plunder the ruin there seems to not too many things left by thieves. They were either stolen the artifacts and scrolls or died to the Vulcans and dragons while tried to do so.'

After a serious thinking process, "It's better than nothing. Dragons have the numerical advantage so we have to have an advantage of the magic.' he thought. 'I don't even sure all the dragons who friendly with us now, want to fight alongside us instead of their kin.' he added.

"Ah, other magics are too weak for dragons. It seems this is the only way I can find for now," he sighed and heard footsteps.

"Eric-sama, Irene-sama wants to meet you," said Sebas with a bow.

"Alright, I am coming," said Eric then put the book in its bookshelf and went to The Throne Room.

When Eric went to the throne room he saw Stone. He was kneeling while sweating nonstop. Meanwhile, Belserion looking at him with a 'what-a-f.u.c.k?' expression.

"Ugh, Eric. We healed him, but he seems to scared of the dragons," said Irene. "It can be understandable because of his backstory but it's rather... hard with us since we live with dragons," said Irene with a sweatdrop.

Eric looked at the giant. 'Ah, great,' he thought. "Hey, stone!" he yelled. Stone looked at him with his eyes he was still kneeling in front of the Belserion and said "Guraah?"

'Yeah, I guess that means 'yes?'.' he thought. "You don't have to afraid all of the dragons. He was the one who saved you, you know?" said Eric.

Belserion this time looked at Eric with a 'What-a-f.u.c.k?' expression. 'I did not heal him' he thought while Eric continued, "Not all of the dragons are bad. We, humans, are the same. Didn't you know that in the first hand?"

Stone looked at Belserion and his fear started to vanishing. There was still fear in his eyes, but not as much as used to be. 'I guess, motivating a single-mind is easy,' thought Eric.

"Okay, anything else?" asked Eric with a smile.

"Ah, yes!" said Irene suddenly. "I almost forgot," she added.

"We have to marry."

Eric looked at her for a while. "I really want to marry you, Irene but I cannot do it right now," he said.

"What?" said Irene with a frown. "I hope you have a proper explanation," she said with a scary voice.

Eric looked unfazed as he continued "I have to go to The West Continent to go Matherda Ruins," said Eric with a monotone voice.

Belserion looked at him and started to think somethings while Erina had a shocked expression on her face.

"What do you mean Matherda ruins!? I cannot let you go there!" she yelled, completely forgot about the marriage.

"We need magic!" yelled Eric. "We both know Irene, we would lose here if we don't do something. I will not let you either our kingdom suffer," he added. "So please, let me go."

After a minute later he added again, "I can't marry you, right now. If I marry you then I have to be king. As a king, I can't go there as my wishes either do the thing as my wish," he said with a pout. "So, after I came back. Let's marry," he said the last part with a smile.

Irene looked at him with a pout. 'Damn you stubborn,' she thought. 'and I know exactly a king like that too' she thought. "Alright... but if you think I let you go there alone, you are hardly mistaken," she said with a sigh. "Belserion, I guess you understand my intention," said Irene to the Belserion with an exhausted voice.

Belserion nodded and closed his eyes. 'Dragon communication? I am going to escorted by a dragon?' he thought. "I will provide you a dragon. He is... a little odd one but I guess you will like him. Ah, before you forgot, you will have Stone too," she said with worry in her voice.

"Guraah?" said Stone as he pointing himself. Irene merely nodded and walked closer to Eric. "Be careful and please don't die," she said sadly and hugged him. "I can't handle if someone important to me dies again."

Eric looked at her and smile "I won't die, that's a promise," he said and hugged her back.

- One Day Later -

Eric was at the country yard and sitting next to Irene. Irene had a little worry on her face and she was very closed to him. They were enjoying the schene that dragons and children playing with each other while Stone was looking to the scenery with a shocked expression for a while, then Belseiron and a white dragon landed to the country yard.

"So that's the fellow, eh? Nice to meet ya!" said the white dragon. He was as tall as Belserion but he looks like a bird-dragon hybrid than a dragon he saw until now. He had feathers on his wings, c.h.e.s.t and his head. The mouth seems to be like a dragon at least, but his legs seemed like bird talons.

Belserion looked at Eric and said "Eric, meet the one of my dearest friend, Tempest. The Sky Dragon King."

"Eh?"
