Sonia: Legends Of Eternal Darkness

In the teen-centric clothing store, Jacob's, the girls shop around, scroll through the store's many offerings, searching for fabric, shiny party materials, and anything else that would contribute to Mellisa's fantasy theme. However, as Sonia rummaged through a Clearance section, a red light begins to shine from her top. Sonia uttered a disappointed/surprised, "...Oh no…" quietly while covering the light so it doesn't look noticeable. Sonia snapped her head around, thankfully finding Mellisa being distracted by some time-wasting toys. The ginger dropped her things and gunned her way to the nearest mall bathroom and through the quiet halls of an emergency exit. There, she pulled out her amulet and emerged from it was a tall, beautiful goddess wielding a crystal staff.

"Goddess Feliferi…" Sonia introduces before bowing down, "I-I, what seems to be the trouble."

"My dear Champion," the goddess informed with an angelic, loving voice, "My powers have warned me that Solaria's dark sorceress has unleashed a new abomination into the planet Earth. I cannot indicate what type of it is or what it can do, but you must find it and destroy it at all costs before it does Orujinshinaka or its citizens any harm. I highly advise that you investigate immediately." The last few words made Sonia do a head-take as she tries to reiterate the goddess's command.

"I-... immediately?" Sonia asks, showing some concern.

"Yes, and not a moment sooner," Feliferi confirmed.

"Yes, majesty, but… Well- I uh-.. You see… I- I have a classmate that… well…" Sonia fumbled. But the goddess saw through her student's fumbles and simply smiled. The angelic being gently lowered her hand onto Sonia's head and the ginger instantly stopped talking. Somehow, Sonia ran out of words to say as the goddess immediately understood Sonia's dilemma without having to even say a word. Feliferi rubbed Sonia's head gently and softly states, "The beast is likely challenged. It does not seem to have a prime directive commanded to it. It will allow time for you to complete your fruitful human activities with your companion. I will have your guardians investigate for the time being." And with that, her glowing finger then gently touches Sonia's nose, causing it to glow as well. Sonia bowed to the angelic goddess, and Feliferi smiles before knocking the bottom of her staff into the ground and then absorbing herself back into the amulet that Sonia wore as a necklace. Sonia then heads out of the bathroom hall and looks around her to make sure the coast was clear.

"Sonia!" a cheery voice called out among the other mall-goers. Sonia turns around surprised, seeing Mellisa carrying bags of clothes and goodies.

"Where'd you go? I got a lot of stuff for our costumes AND some neat clothes for other fun days!" Mellisa smiled as she held about eight bags on both her arms, "Say, are you hungry? I think if we wait any longer, my tummy's gonna find food on its own!" The cheerful girl giggled while Sonia helped carry some bags, agreeing with Sonia that if tummies could walk, we'd be nothing but husks for skin and bones, making both of the girls laugh. Our two protagonists were hungry, and what better place to go for lunch, or dinner for that matter, than the Food Court. The food court was a decent walk, and as Mellisa carried her bags with glee, Sonia struggled and dragged her bags across the floor. The ginger girl tied her hair in a ponytail then reattempted to pull the bags, but to no avail. It's as if the store owners put the clothes in first, then filled the rest with rocks! Sonia pulled and pulled until the bags get caught on something minuscule, rendering it immobile. Mellisa walks up to Sonia and asks, "Do you need help, friend?"

"No…!" Sonia lets out with a strain, "I got it…!" The ginger goofs up and accidentally lets go of the bag, slipping on a milkshake spill in "WET FLOOR" area and into the janitor's tandem bucket of cleaning water. The bucket is then rolled straight down the halls of the mall, crashing into a vendor's booth and covered with plush toys. Sonia tossed off some of the toys, only to then scream when she found herself careening towards loads of mall-goers!

Sonia screamed at the top of her lungs, "LOOK OOOOUUUTTT!!!!" as the janitor's bucket flies across the entire mall. She grabbed the mop and steered the bucket around every man, woman, couple, child, and family that were in the way! Trailing behind her, Mellisa trotted with all of her belongings, searching for something she could use to stop the bucket from crashing.

"HOLD ON, SONIA! I'LL SAVE YOU!" Mellisa exclaimed. However, the bucket was rolling faster and faster, leaving our cheery friend behind as it goes down a long slope. Mellisa tuckered out as she couldn't keep up. Her curiosity peaked as she searched for anything that would halt her ginger friend's speedy descent. Mellisa spotted places like a toy store, a tea shop, a china shop, a tea & china shop, a game warehouse, an arcade, and a vendor that sold knick-knacks from around the world. Delving further, one of those knick-knacks happen to be a-...

"A boomerang!" Mellisa perked. She then dashes by the knickknack vendor, snatching the boomerang (and paying for it), then runs to the top of the slope to find Sonia roll.i.c.k.i.n.g towards a nearby "Cleares." And in front of that is one of those Kid Carousels! Mellisa gasped wildly! But with determination, the goofy latina took the boomerang, aimed with precision, stretched her arm like a professional baseball player and HURLED the boomerang across the mall! The boomerang jettisoned its way over heads and hats alike, cutting through offending haircuts, careening past mall security, and ricocheting off every pillar, wall, and escalator it came in contact with. The boomerang zoomed its way into the wheel of the janitor's bucket, stopping the plastic object in its tracks.

The same couldn't be said for Sonia as she was flung high up above the mall's upper floors. Her body glided across the glass boards that allowed the sun to shine. The tops of three overhead lamps zapped her body furiously before ultimately landing on a giant elastic flyer. Sonia, with burn marks all over her, gulped when she realized the length that the flyer stretched for itself. She is then suddenly cannoned forwards across the mall. The burnt ginger crashed into the food court and slid through tables of food. Many patrons were shocked and disheveled until Sonia finally struck into the Smoothie Shack. The vendors of the Smoothie Shack are alright if not a bit dazed. Though, a dazed and confused Sonia g.r.o.a.n.e.d as her injuries finally got to her. Her upper body is stuck in the smoothie mixer, leaving her lower half exposed to where her legs kicked around.

"Ow…" Sonia uttered, "My head…" The ginger girl raised her arm to soothe her pain but ends up tipping one of the juice levers, spilling a river of red slushie mix and fruit juice all over the poor girl's face and hair as well as in the mixer. As if things couldn't get any worse for the poor ginger…

"Sonia! Sonia! Are you okay?" Mellisa shouted with concern as she hopped through all of the chaos. The little Latin girl excused herself through the vendors to aid Sonia from her predicament. Mellisa rubbed her hands together, grabs Sonia's derriere and PULLED as hard as she could until… POP! Sonia is free, but she definitely was a mess! She was such a mess that her hair ends up dying itself from ginger to red due to the slushie mix! Sonia groans at all of the food and slush that permeated her clothes. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a whole crowd of mall patrons erupt a huge burst of laughter. Everyone, except Mellisa and a few concerned people, laughed at Sonia's expense. Cindy, along with her no-good diva cronies, even commented, "Looks like SOMEBODY had a baaaaad accident!"

"She should go from Potato-Face to The Bloody Red Queen!" one of Cindy's cronies insulted, causing everyone to laugh even harder. Mellisa pulls some of the fries from Sonia's hair and is about to ask Sonia about her issue, but Sonia puts a finger on the cheery girl's lips and shuts her up immediately, clenching her fist with anger, tears and humiliation. Sonia took one of Mellisa's shopping bags with new clothes and stomped angrily to the nearest bathroom. Mellisa picked up the other seven bags and followed her as well. Vexed, she ordered Mellisa to sit on the bench next to the ladies' room and wait for her. Mellisa silently complied, not wanting to stir more trouble.

Sonia hid in one of the bathroom stalls, trying to wipe off all the food and food condiments that were stuck on her clothes. She stood there to let her thoughts compile.

"How does anyone even hang out with that… Mellisa!?" Sonia thought to herself as changed to one of her newly-purchased outfits, "It's like SHE'S an accident-prone freak! And what's worse! I have serious work to do, and another monster to destroy who's probably wreaking havoc as we speak! Keeping this a secret is bad enough, but to juggle both of these lives is a nightmare… Ugh, I need a way to get out of this…" She also tried to get the red out of her hair but to no avail. The ginger walked out of the stall to check out her new clothes. Sonia now wore a black, shoulder-less top with dark grey leggings. Shocked, Sonia exclaims, "Oh man! This must be Mellisa's outfit!" Sonia struggled to find words as she clenches her face and waves her fists halfway in the air. Her mood was seemingly interrupted by the sound of her cell phone vibrating in one of her messy clothes. Sonia quickly answered the phone and a scratchy voice called, "Sonniyer! We need help!"

"Scruffles? Scruffles! What's wrong?!" Sonia called out quietly.

"There's these…- GET OFF'A ME YOU FREAKS!!- spiky gremlin things multiplying like rabbits out in town! Ya' gotta gets yer' b.u.t.t out here now!" Scruffles screams out, being suddenly bitten on the tail. Sonia's face was in panic mode. Deciding there's no time to change, she grabs her necklace from Mellisa's bag, and powers it up, unleashing her crown and her sword, a bright light shined from the bathroom stall. Sonia's amulet abruptly teleports her from the bathroom and out to where the danger occurred. Mellisa, however, sat down… waiting for Sonia to come back out.

"Hmm… I do hope Sonia is alright…" Mellisa said to herself, "I just didn't want her to get hurt…" The worrisome girl poked her chin as she sat in her thinking position. She pondered and pondered until suddenly, an idea popped into her head.

"Ooh! I know!" Mellisa said to herself, "Once she comes out, I'll give Sonia a present for being such a nice person!" A cheerful smile grows on Mellisa's face as she sits in a poised position, hands interlocked with each other and finally waits for Sonia to come out.
