"MEOW"

[Hey sleepy head. How long are you planning to hole up in this room?]

Mu Lingxi stirred on her bed as she extended her arms hidden beneath the soft layer of her blanket. She grab her tactful cat and pull it under the sheets as she wrestled it.

"J-A-N-U-Ssssssss.... It's so embarrassing! What to do?!!"

"MWARRR"

[Little lass,... leave me alone!!!]

Janus try hard to wriggle his way away from Mu Lingxi's arms.

When the little black cat resurfaced from under the pile of blankets, its fur was ruffled.

He licked it back to place and gaze back at the blanket with eyes full of annoyance.

"MEOW"

[Geez Lingxi! Quit that sullen act of yours, c'mon! It been a week since that happen... and besides it's not a crime to fart every now and then???!!]

"Yah, have you tried farting in front of Luna???"

"MEOW"

[ Why would I do that????? That's embarrassing!]

"Then you said it! It's embarrassing. How can I face Long Fuzi next time???"

"MEOW"

"NO!"

"MEOW"

[Then problem solve?! You won't meet him anytime soon? He lives in the palace and you are miles away from him.]

"Yes,...you're right. I think so..."

Out of the blue, a knocked followed by Yanyan soft voice interrupted the squabbling master and cat duo.

"Young miss, clan head would like to meet you this instant"

"Uhrrrggg... Yanyan, tell grandpa I'm not feeling well"

and to even spice up her drama, Mu Lingxi did not forget to do some dry cough loud enough for Yanyan to hear.

Yanyan was torn between following the order of their clan head or following what her young miss just said.

"But young miss, His Majesty just arrived this morning and I heard that He was personally requesting for your audience. I'm afraid but you have to come with me this time"

Upon hearing that the emperor was actually looking for her, Mu Lingxi's heart almost jump outside her c.h.e.s.t.

"WHAT?!!!!!"

She scramble on her feet and hastily fixed her hair, her bed and everything around her room. She was running like a headless chicken unsure what to do.

Due to trepidation she did not even notice that she pick up the lying black cat and tossed it together with her dirty laundry.

Janus was caught off guard and unceremoniously get tossed before he even realize what was happening.

"MWARRRR"

Janus tried to utter some words of protest but his voice get muffled as pile of garments buried him deep down.

"Janus? Janus! Where are you??? Stop hiding.... help me... we need to talk.."

The sudden visit of the emperor was too alarming for Mu Lingxi since she knew that she just had a fight with its youngest son last time at the banquet.

"Young miss, can I come in???"

"Yes,. yes of course"

Mu Lingxi never treated Yanyan as a servant. For her she was akin to a friend. Although she could not get close to anyone especially she was still afraid that her transmigration will get discovered.

Yanyan was tasked to prepare Mu Lingxi to meet the emperor so the first thing that she work on was the bubble bath so her young miss can clean herself.

After a while, Mu Lingxi was dressed in a beautiful silk dress with flower embroidery at its hem.

When she was about to reach the entrance to the main hall, she met Mu Yanxiao.

Mu Lingxi thought that she was having a bad day but it seems that this cousin of her had it worst. She try to rub her eyes upon seeing her cousin's appearance.

Her elegant and warm aura was nowhere to be seen. Instead she was akin to someone under the state of withdrawal from substance abuse.

When they met at the hallway leading to the main hall, Mu Yanxiao glared at her.

If eyes could kill, Mu Lingxi might be dead on the spot at this moment as Mu Yanxiao stare daggers at her.

"This was all your fault!!" that all she said before she walked away.

"MEOW"

[Is she an addict or something??]
