I’m in an Introductory Programming Class.

I finished my task quickly and looked at some trends on Twitter.

Basically, there are no fixed seating arrangements in university classes.

However, Miyu always sits next to me.

I was curious, so I peeked at her monitor to my right.

Once again, I saw an unimaginable sight.

Miyu was making and playing a shooting game.

[When did you make that shooting game?]

[In the internet, I saw an article about “Make a shooting game with the minimum number of lines”]

[Ahh… I see.]

How can you imitate it so quickly? That’s what I was blurting out in my mind.

Perhaps they had heard her venomous tongue last time, but since then, no boys have approached Miyu, or maybe a rumour spread.

◇◆◇◆

It was time for lunch.

There is a cafeteria in the Department of Computer Science building, and you can fill your stomach for 300 yen per meal.

“I think it’s time we should do something about it…”

I started to talk, as we ate lunch.

“What do you mean?”

“Your venomous tongue. If you keep this up, you’ll end up like you did in high school.”

“Ugh, I don’t want that to happen again…”

Miyu’s face turned bitter as if she remembered the incident in high school.

“Right?”

“…But what should I do?”

“How about joining a club?”

“The people in the club might not like me…”

“That’s what I’m talking about.”

It’s difficult to know what to do.

“Can I sit with you guys?”

I heard a voice behind me.

He must be a few years older than us. He has that kind of ambience.

“Yes, please go ahead.”

“Well then, excuse me”

The person sat down across from us.

When we looked at him suspiciously, he held out his business card.

“This will tell who I am.”

【Kawaguchi Toshi, Editorial Director of Byte.】

“Byte, huh? I read it before I entered the university. It helped me a lot.”

Byte is the official publication of the Department of Programming and Computer Science.

It seems to be published regularly and was distributed in front of the computer room right after we entered the school.

It was very helpful for us new students because it contained a lot of useful information.

“So, What does Kawaguchi-san want from us?”

Miyu and I have never met him before.

“Sorry. I heard a rumor about your Computer Practice. I’m just curious to see how good you are.

“What kind of rumors?

“I heard there’s a girl who draws in Excel. And there’s also…”

“My name is Asakura Miyu. So, what is it?”

Miyu was very curt. I’m a little nervous.

“The way you aren’t afraid of older students, and your technique are Interesting. If it’s alright with you, do you want to come over to our place?”

He made such an abrupt invitation.

“Eh… Me?”

Miyu was surprised by the unexpected invitation.

“Fortunately, we have a lot of people who are like Asakura-san, and they don’t mind if you talk too much. So, how about it?”

He said that Miyu had a bad mouth, but he didn’t feel bad about it.

In addition, he was not at all interested in Miyu’s appearance.

A lot of guys are interested in her looks, after all.

“Well… I can’t decide right away.”

A puzzled Miyu managed to reply.

“Then, how about a visit for now? Of course, you can bring him along.”

I can’t read Kawaguchi-san’s intention.

(Why don’t we just look for now?)

(Okay… )

With that said.

“Please take care of us, Kawaguchi-san.”

Miyu bowed.

“Me as well, Asakura-san. So, what should I call that guy over there?”

“I’m Takato Ryuji. You can call me by my first name or my last name, whichever you prefer.”

“Well then, Nice to meet you, Takato-kun.”

We decided to visit the mysterious Byte Editorial Department.
