Spiderweb

9 Visit with Bella

"I.. think I should say things first," Regan interrupted taking a step towards Bella, "I really appreciate you and all you have done for me."

A blush spread on Bella's face, "T- thank you."

"And as much as I want to embrace you with all my might," Regan grinned, "I also want to find out just how quickly it takes for all the blood in your body to drip out."

"What?" Bella asked, taking a step backwards.

"I want to know just how warm your blood is, how the scent of it mixes with that special perfume you put on today, how pretty you look when your life slowly drifts away and," Regan began her hands caressing the metal pole she held, "how beautiful your voice will sound as it screams for help and mercy."

"Have you lost your mind?" Bella asked, her voice shaking in fear as she slowly stood up from her spot in the grass and began to walk away from Regan.

"I don't think so," Regan smiled, "Amnesia only lasts for a few days in my body you know. Sooner or later, the memories will resurface. And I will be reunited with my blessed hobby."

"Regan, listen to me. This is all a delusion, you are ok right now, no one is hunting you, nobody will kill you," Bella reassured Regan.

"What if I don't want to listen? In fact, you are the one who should be listening," Regan grinned, "Think about it this way. You're helping the friend you always felt special with, by giving her an artistic experience. Just, a bit more bloody than you'd prefer."

"Please, stop," Bella begged.

"Haha," Regan grinned, "you know, I think this might actually be more colorful than what happened to Ella."

"You…" Bella stuttered, taking 4 steps backwards, "you, killed Ella?"

"I mean, I know you're dense but honey… you should have realized this quicker. Damien left, only me and Ella remained. Who else could be the killer?" Regan grinned, running her bat along the grass.

"Why would you do that?" Bella asked.

"Why? Because she was drifting away," Regan frowned, "the days where we smiled together and talked about our memories had turned into hours talking about her life without me. Memories we cherished were replaced with her memories without me."

Regan lifted the metal pole and stared into it, "if I can't have my best friend to myself," Regan looked up at Bella,"now one else can."
