Stardom - Logan Williams

It had been 3 days since Logan had started hearing the beep sounds. He still saw darkness. He thought ,that was because he hadn't recovered enough to see light. The most terrifying thing was that he couldn't feel his extremities. Logon thought," Great. I ended up as a paraplegic".

Today something new was happening. He could hear people talking.

"This here is our VIP patient. Anyone would like to present":spoke a m.a.t.u.r.e voice.

"Patient Logan Williams had a Road traffic accident 6 years back and has been in a vegetative state since then. No signs of improvement from the current condition. No Deep tendon reflexes seen as well". This voice seemed young.

WHAT THE HELL. RTA 6 years back. What's up with Logan WILLIAMS. His surname was Summers.

What the f.u.c.k was happening. Multiple thoughts started swirling through Logan's mind. Maybe this was a organ harvesting facility he thought. Damn, these people were going to sell his body as spare parts.

"Professor Adams, isn't this bed being occupied without a cause. The patient has been in a vegetative state for 6 years with no signs of improvement. Shouldn't this bed be used for a better cause"

"You may not know this but this guy here has been blessed with really good family. His parents have donated a lot of money to the hospital. So he gets to stay as long as he can" ,said Dr. Adams.

WHAT IN THE WORLD.. BLESSED WITH A GOOD FAMILY?? They had clearly mistook him for someone else, thought Logan. He started to panic. This was just too much false information. Where the hell am I?

"Sir, his pulse and BP are spiking."

"Get a crash cart in here. The patient is going in a cardiac arrest. You, start CPR. Push one of epi."

"Charge to 120. Clear... Charge to 240. Clear."

"We have sinus rhythm. Vitals back to normal."

"Phew...."

While this was going on... inside Logan's mind..

DING.

[Host is undergoing a cardiac arrest.]

[Taking preventive manoeuvres]

[Starting regeneration on myocardial tissue]

[Host is gaining consciousness]

[Congratulations host. You have been endowed upon a system by a higher being. Use the system to your utmost to achieve all your ambitions]

"Dafaq. Is this like the novels?" thought Logan.

" I actually died. Is this like a transmigration story?"

"Hey System. Why me?" asked Logan.

"The higher being took pity on you. And... pfft... hahaha. He found it amusing that you died due to a banana peel. Hahahaha.." replied the system hysterically.

" Dammit. I really did die due to a banana.. so what now. What's happening on the outside?" asked Logan.

The system replied:"You went into a cardiac arrest. Doctors are trying to resuscitate you as we speak. The system has its own regeneration capability which has been activated now. It's acting at maximum capability. This is only a onetime favour. Don't go on thinking you are invincible because of this."

Logan contemplated on what the system said. He asked the system:"Hey, shouldn't I get a status window? And what about the memories of this body's previous self? Shouldn't I gain the memories if I am to stay in this body now?"

[Due to decreased brain function host cannot access his status window.]

[Host will be able to access this only after after your brain function has completely recovered.]

So that how it is. I guess this will have to wait.

[Host has regained 50 percent of the original capability.]

[Host has gained minimum hold of this new body]

"Sir, I think I just saw the eyelid of the patient move"

Dr. Adams rebuked:"Do not talk nonsense. He is in a vegetative state. He doesn't have motor ability."

"Sir. I think I saw it too"

Logan moved his hand to gesture the doctor. Dr.Adams couldn't believe his eyes. His expression was as if he had seen a ghost.

"Page the Director ,911."he said.

"Do it faster, you dimwit"

"Logan. Hi. I am Dr Adams. Can your hear me?Can you see my finger? Follow my finger please."

"Sir, I think he is trying to say something." said a resident.

"Wa..t..er"

"Nurse get him a cup of water. Let him use a straw to drink".ordered Dr. Adams.

"Director" Everyone stood up. An old doctor came up to Logan and said:"Logan. Child, do you know who I am? I am one of your mom's best friends. Do you remember me? My name is Dr.Matilda Jones."

How I am supposed to know? I don't even know who I am now, thought Logan. He thought it should be safe to play amnesia.

"Where am I?" he asked.

"You are in a Hospital. St. Anne's Tertiary Care Hospital. You must be overwhelmed and must be suffering a bit of amnesia which is totally normal. I am going to call your mom. She would be so happy to hear this. Take rest son! Everyone one leave, let him rest!"

Everyone left leaving Logan to see his surroundings clearly. This should be pretty high end hospital suite. His parents must be well to do. So this is my life huh.

This is going to be one hell of chance to restart and get what I didn't in my previous life. Lets do this!!!
