*Ring* *Ring* Ring* *Ring*

Ila heard a ringing noise coming from one of the consoles on the bridge. It seems that someone was hailing him. The last thing that Ila had experienced was feeling a huge explosion that rocked the Invictus as he was entering hyperspace. Then just darkness.

Ila was exhausted and a bit disoriented as he answered the hail. Then a deep, (maybe) soothing voice said, "This is Colonel Steven Caldwell of the Earth ship Daedalus, are there any survivors on board?"

Ila was a confused for a second as from what he knew, the humans from Earth in Milky Way shouldn't have this kind of technology and he also didn't get an order of abandoning Atlantis.

Ila opened a channel and replied, "This is Captain Ila Ultum, of the Lantean warship, Invictus. There should be only one survivor if the Wraith on board have succ.u.mbed to asphyxiation. And if I may ask, what do you mean Earth ship? The Earth I know shouldn't have this level of technology."

McKay, along with the others that heard the message on board the Daedalus were stunned when they heard who the person on board was. They were quite surprised when they detected a hyperspace window opening while they were in orbit above the planet Doranda.

They had come to Doranda when they discovered its location in the Ancient database, as it had hinted at an Ancient outpost working on something big. McKay had discovered that it housed Project Arcturus on the planet and reported it back to Weir. McKay convinced Sheppard to speak up for him in-front of Weir. They had a meeting and decided to try and finish the work that the Ancients left behind. Weir almost didn't approve but with Caldwell talking about using its power to defeat the Wraith she reluctantly agreed.

Sheppard, McKay, Zelenka, along with some more Atlantis Expedition scientists on board the Daedalus were about to head down to finish Project Arcturus when the Daedalus' sensors picked up a hyperspace window opening in orbit. They were beyond speechless when they saw a huge 3500m long, 1000m high Ancient looking ship show up.

The sensors on the Daedalus picked up one life sign on the huge ship. It also picked up a faint signal that seemed to be a nearly depleted zpm on board. Colonel Caldwell opened a channel to the ship and waited for a response. After a few seconds, they heard a charming but clearly exhausted voice replied sending them into an even bigger shock.

McKay looked like he was on cloud nine when he heard the voice of a possible Ancient. Before he could do anything rash like beam himself over to the Ancient warship, Caldwell replied to Ila saying, "It may be a bit shocking for you to hear this but Earth has changed in the last 10,000 years from what you probably remember. The reason I say this is because the last sighting of the Ancients in the Pegasus galaxy was 10,000 years ago before they abandoned Atlantis and came to Earth."

Now it was Ila's turn to be speechless. From what he understood, the unbelievably once in a billion years shot that came from one of the hivesh.i.p.s caused his hyperspace window to also send him forward in time. He also noticed that the Potentia on board was nearly depleted while powering the shields to prevent the ship from succ.u.mbing to the huge explosion that occurred because of that once in a billion shot.

Ila was fl.u.s.tered as he was hit with a massive blow, he was now 10,000 years into the future. Ila bitterly smiled and said, "I see, so we lost the war with the Wraith, huh? Otherwise, my people would have never abandoned Atlantis."

McKay couldn't keep calm anymore as he quickly had Hermiod beam him over to the bridge of the Invictus. Hermiod could be seen thinking about something. What it was only he could know.

Ila was still bitterly smiling when he saw a flash of light and saw a man appear from the light. Ila was startled at first before saying, "Asgard transporters?!"

McKay had just beamed to the bridge and saw a good looking man sitting in the captains chair looking at him with an exhausted look on his chiseled face. McKay was about to reply when three other flashes of light appearing on the bridge.

Out of those flashes came out Sheppard, Caldwell, and a surprise for the Atlantis Team, Hermiod. Hermiod also had a piece of paper he got from one of the Daedalus crew for some reason. Hermiod stared at Ila for a few seconds before rushing over to him and saying, "Captain Ultum, I am Hermiod of the Asgard! I am a big fan of your works from 10,000 years ago. Your work on genetics, as well as other technologies, was used as a base line for trying to cure the Asgard's genetic disease. Could I have your autograph?"

Ila said, "Sure. But afterwards I'm going to need your help with understanding what happened to me and my ship and how I got here."

Hermiod replied enthusiastically, "Of course, Captain Ultum!"

Ila said, "You can just call me Ila, I'm not a captain anymore. I was sent 10,000 years into the future where my people are no longer around."

Ila turns to McKay, Sheppard and Caldwell. Ila says, "You were saying?"

McKay immediately responds, "So you are actually a living breathing Ancient?"

"Ancient? What do you mean?"

"Oh, it's what we call your people."

"Is that so... Alright, now can someone tell me what the situation is with the war with the Wraith?"

Sheppard answers Ila before McKay can, "The Wraith have been terrorizing the galaxy over the past 10,000 years and go into hibernation for a few centuries after culling worlds all over the galaxy. This time they came out of their hibernation earlier than normal because of... us and started terrorizing the galaxy again."

Ila's face turns grim and says, "Well, now that I know the tactics of my people didn't do much to stop those horrible things I guess I need to change my way of doing things."

McKay asks Ila, "Do you have a zpm on board? When we scanned your ship we detected a faint energy source coming from the engine room."

Ila was confused and replies, "What is this zpm you speak of? The only energy source on board that I can think of would be the Potentia on board that boosts the Invictus' capabilities. All newer class warsh.i.p.s should have them."

"A zpm stands for a zero point module. It's what we call the power sources that your people build to power things. Like the Atlantis shield or its star drive. I guess you would call it a Potentia."

"I see..."

Sheppard says, "So Ila, how did you get here 10,000 years into the future?"

"I was ambushed by the Wraith while I was checking out a distress beacon coming from one of our mining colonies. My whole crew was culled by the Wraith. I took out the Wraith inside the ship. And as I was entering hyperspace one of the five Wraith hivesh.i.p.s fired and hit the hyperspace window as I was going through. The shot caused a huge explosion, and if I didn't have the zpm, or whatever you call it, powering the shields I would have been destroyed along with the Invictus. It seems that it took most of the zpms power for the shields to hold up against the devastating explosion."

McKay, Sheppard, and Caldwell were disappointed to hear that the zpm was nearly depleted as they were in need of more zpms. The one they had in Atlantis was enough for now but that could change in the future. But they were still excited as they now met a living breathing Ancient who knows where everything is and how everything works.

Ila asked the group a question, "So where are we right now? I had set coordinates for Lantea before I was sent to the future."

"We are over the planet of Doranda. We originally came here because there was apparently a thing called Project Arcturus. But it seems like the project succeeded and failed. There are multiple Wraith ship debris caused by a weapon on the planets surface but there is also no sign of life on the planet."

"Ha, those stupid scientists. Both Janus and I had warned them of the dangers that it could cause and look at what it caused."

McKay chimes in, "Janus?... Are you talking about the Janus who created the time jumper and the failsafe mechanism that made Atlantis rise?"

"Janus finished his time machine? Damn! Just when I thought I won the bet, he goes and finishes the damn thing! Oh well, good for him I suppose. Oh and yes, I am talking about Janus, we're cousins!"
