Chapter 17: cross the lake

  Chapter 17 Crossing the Lake

In fact, children living in the wizarding world are usually very boring. The Burrow of the Weasley family is just south of the village of Ottery-St. Catchpole among the hills and trees. However, most Muggles have never even found it There is a house there.

There were only four wizarding households in the vicinity, and Digory's was the closest, but still a few miles away.

Both parties can only ride brooms or use other methods to visit each other. In fact, the children of the four families basically have no contact with each other.

Weasley's children hardly ever go to Ottery St. Catchpole, let alone hang out with common Muggles.

However, the twins stated that their brother had a Muggle friend who was a pretty girl.

"General Muggles are more difficult to get along with. They always think we are weird, and they usually can't hang out together, and... my family is far from the town."

Lee Jordan's situation is even worse. He is the only one in his family, so sometimes he doesn't have any playmates.

Albert is much better than them. He has a younger sister, a pile of books, and occasionally plays ball with others. However, I usually don't play with a group of little kids, it's boring after all.

Although he doesn't have any real good friends, Albert is quite popular at school. After all, he has excellent grades and is very good in all aspects. He is also a type who speaks well, and he also knows how to manage interpersonal relationships.

Albert asked the three of them that children in the wizarding world don't actually go to Muggle schools.

It's really hard to imagine that a family like Malfoy would send their children to Muggle schools?

   Obviously not.

Of course, some wizards are exceptions.

However, the twins have never been there, and their initial knowledge was taught by their family members.

"By the way, is there any family named Smith in the wizarding family?" Albert asked, his grandfather's original family was Smith. Later, following his Muggle relatives, he casually changed his name along with it.

It can be seen how much he hated the guy who abandoned him back then.

"I haven't heard of it, how about you George?" Fred looked at his twin brother.

"I haven't heard of it either." Li Qiaodan shook his head. "Is something wrong?"

"It's nothing, I still don't know where I heard this surname." Albert moved his gaze out of the window, the visibility was very low, and the sky was gradually darkening.

In other words, he didn't realize that Li Qiaodan was a talker, this guy likes to talk non-stop.

The three of them wouldn't feel bored, anyway, the cubicle is also very boring. Listening to him nagging about things is like hypnosis.

Albert reopened his eyes, and he felt that the train seemed to slow down.

"Five minutes later, the train will arrive at Hogwarts. Please leave your luggage on the car, and we will send you to school." A voice echoed on the train through the loudspeaker.

"Merlin's beard has finally arrived." Fred stretched lazily, sitting on the train for too long, and he was not in a good mood.

George helped clean up the snacks on the table and put them in Albert's suitcase.

The train finally stopped, and the four of them walked out of the compartment. Following the crowds of people on the train aisle, they rushed towards the door.

When I got off the car, it was really a mess. They went down to a dark and small platform, and the cold rain was pouring down, and the chill of the night made Albert shiver.

"I hate rain." Albert muttered, took out his wand and cast a spell on the peaked hat, "Water and fire will not invade."

"First-year freshmen! First-year freshmen come here!" A loud voice shouted from the platform. He raised the oil lamp above everyone's head and shook it to attract the freshmen's attention.

"What are you doing, follow up quickly." Fred stretched out his hand to give him a hand.

"Wait a minute." Albert also said fire and water to the robe on his body. He didn't know if the spell would work, but it was better than nothing.

"Hurry up, Albert." Lee Jordan urged.

"Don't worry, it's coming. Fluorescent flashes." Albert held up his wand and walked towards Hagrid. He was really a tall man with a long beard, and he looked quite scary from a distance.

If you don’t know, you might think it’s some kind of dangerous person, the appearance is really scary.

"Are there any first-year students? We're all here, let's go!" Hagrid led them away from the platform, losing the shelter of the platform. The cold rain hit him, making the freshmen get goosebumps all over their bodies.

"Watch out for your feet." Hagrid shouted, but it didn't help at all. Because of the rain, the path was muddy, and many people fell down several times on the way.

Albert pulled the pointed hat and robe on his body, wrapping himself tightly. Fortunately, the water and fire inviolability spell worked, so he didn't become a drowned chicken like others.

Why didn't I learn how to conjure an umbrella with a magic wand? No, Albert remembered that he had a folding umbrella in his suitcase.

He's kind of annoyed, mad at himself.

Albert decided to take the time to learn that useful magic, so that he won't have to worry about not bringing an umbrella when it rains.

"Are you okay?" In front of him, another unlucky guy fell down.

"Thank you, this journey is really exhausting." The girl who was lifted up said gratefully

"Let's go." Albert let go of the opponent's hand, explored the way with his wand, and walked forward slowly.

This is definitely the worst freshman class. Many people fell down and were covered in mud.

He also heard Lee Jordan, whom he didn't want, swearing in a low voice, who had just been brought by the people around him.

Albert suddenly felt that it was a wise decision for him to stay behind, at least he would not be brought down.

"Be careful, it's going downhill." Hagrid shouted ahead. After he went down, he waited by the side to prevent students from slipping and falling while walking this steep slope.

Facts have proved that this is indeed a wise decision. There were indeed three unlucky people who almost fell down. Fortunately, Hagrid caught them in time.

"Be careful, we will be at the lake soon."

After everyone went downhill, Hagrid stepped forward to lead the way again. They made a bumpy turn and finally arrived at a black lake.

On the hillside across the lake, stands a castle, that is Hogwarts Castle.

There are lights flickering on the windows of the castle, which are particularly conspicuous under the rain of the night.

"No more than four people per boat. Remember, no more than four people!" Hagrid shouted to the newcomers, pointing to the boat on the shore.

"Albert, this way." One of the twins waved at him, and Lee Jordan was also here. They were all covered in mud and looked very embarrassed.

"Are you all right?" Albert couldn't help but get on the boat.

"It's bad, I fell once and got carried over twice."

"Get in the boat" Hagrid shouted, and after making sure no one was overloaded with a light, he took a boat by himself, "Very good, then...go on."

The boat is automatic without oars, and drives forward across the lake.

Albert looked up at the castle ahead, feeling vaguely inexplicable excitement, Hogwarts, here I come.
