Study Days at Hogwarts

Chapter 63: Hagrid

  Chapter 63 Hagrid

"What's its name." Albert stuffed the sandwich in his mouth and ate it, stretched out his hands and gently rubbed the hound's head and asked.

   "Yaya." Hagrid replied subconsciously.

"Yaya? It feels like the aura of this big dog has disappeared all of a sudden. How about calling it Spike?" Albert casually gave Yaya a new name.

"I think it's good to be called Fangya." Hagrid stopped cleaning the mink fur, shook his head and rejected Albert's kindness.

"My name is Albert Anderson, are you also a professor at Hogwarts?" Albert asked knowingly.

"No, I'm the gamekeeper." Hagrid continued shaking his head.

"Does the hunting ground refer to the forest over there?" Albert raised his finger and pointed in the direction of the Forbidden Forest. Before Hagrid could answer, he continued, "I heard that there are werewolves in the forest. Is this true?"

"Are you a Ravenclaw student?" Hagrid asked uncertainly.

Albert glanced sideways at the three of them, and replied, "No, we are all Gryffindor students."

"Oh, Gryffindor students." Hagrid suddenly said seriously, "I won't let you go into the woods..."

"Ahem, Albert, how do you know this dog will rub your dog's head, I just thought it was quite fierce." George quickly diverted Hagrid's attention.

The three of them leaned over and started rubbing Yaya's dog's head.

"Intuition, probably. I have a cat myself, but I just didn't bring it to school." Albert casually found an excuse, "By the way, Mr. Hunting Ground Warden, you don't mind letting me take a photo some other day!"

"You can call me Hagrid." Hagrid didn't refuse, he just suddenly recalled some past events.

"Well, Mr. Hagrid. Well, Hagrid..." Albert quietly drew the relationship between the two parties closer.

"What are you taking pictures for?" Hagrid asked.

"I want my family to know about my life in Hogwarts. They are Muggles and they don't know anything about Hogwarts." Albert explained.

"It's best not to reveal too many things about the wizarding world to Muggles, or you might get into trouble." Hagrid reminded with a frown.

"Oh, I see." Albert looked at Hagrid, thought for a while, and then retorted, "Because of the secrecy law?"

"You know this?" Hagrid was a little surprised how Albert knew about the Secrecy Act. A Muggle wizard who just entered Hogwarts should have very limited understanding of the wizarding world.

Albert briefly told Hagrid about Truman's bad luck.

The hunting ground guard was stunned after hearing this, and he said softly: "I don't know much about the secrecy law. I only know that underage wizards will be warned if they use magic in front of Muggle family members. In a residential area, using magic in front of Muggles is a crime under the Act and will result in direct expulsion."

"Is there any case of expulsion from Hogwarts?" Albert found that he had indeed cheated Truman. No wonder it was an expulsion letter instead of a warning letter.

"As far as I know, there shouldn't be any." Hagrid wasn't very clear either.

"Your case is a special case." Fred cleared his throat and explained, "It can only be said that the unlucky Truman bumped into you by accident."

"Hmm!" Albert knew the reason after thinking about it. There should be some Muggle wizards who received warnings, but they were usually intimidated by the letter, so they didn't dare to use magic again at the risk of being expelled.

"By the way, Hagrid, are there any dangerous creatures in the Forbidden Forest? Why doesn't Dumbledore allow new students to enter the Forbidden Forest?" Albert pulled the topic back and started talking about the topic that everyone is interested in now.

"There are many dangerous magical animals in the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid nodded.

"Like a werewolf?" Albert asked with raised eyebrows.

   "Yes, werewolves."

"Didn't it mean that if you are bitten by a werewolf, you will become a werewolf? Dumbledore actually allows students to be neighbors with werewolves?" Albert raised his doubts.

"Werewolves are deep in the Forbidden Forest, so they won't easily appear around the school, and..." When Hagrid spoke, his eyes averted a little, obviously guilty.

"Hagrid, have you ever seen a unicorn?"

  …

  …

"How many questions is this?" The three whispered next to each other.

   "Ten...or twelve?"

However, the three still admire Albert. They have all noticed that Albert almost made the situation in the Forbidden Forest confusing by asking.

They also discovered that Hagrid had a soft spot for fire dragons. When Albert talked about fire dragons, Hagrid was very excited when he introduced fire dragons.

As for the forest outside the Forbidden Forest, it is actually not dangerous. Students will occasionally attend classes there, but if you continue to go deeper into the Forbidden Forest, you may encounter various magical creatures such as horsemen, werewolves, and unicorns in the Forbidden Forest.

Seeing that Albert had a soft spot for unicorns, Hagrid gave him a small bundle of unicorn tail hairs, and before they left, Hagrid warned the four of them not to try to enter the Forbidden Forest.

Albert stopped in his tracks, and suddenly turned his head and asked, "Hagrid, is there a guardian tree in the forest?"

"Warder tree? You mean the Sorbus tree?" Hagrid asked puzzled.

"Yes." Albert nodded and said, "This tree is mentioned in the Herbal Medicine and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. It can really ward off evil spirits...I mean drive away dark magic creatures?"

   "It's really useful." Hagrid nodded.

"That... can you help me... I mean I want a small dead branch of a sorrel tree."

"What do you want that thing for?" Hagrid asked suspiciously.

"I'm going to make a gift for my sister. I heard that the guardian tree has a protective effect. I can pay some Galleons." Albert said shyly.

"No, I'll go into the woods to help you take a look when I have time, but don't expect too much, Bowtruckles generally don't let people touch the sorbus tree casually." Hagrid understood Albert's meaning.

  Sorbus, shelter family?

   That's great.

"Thank you, Hagrid." Albert said gratefully, and he began to think about what Christmas gift to give the other party.

"You're welcome." Hagrid scratched his head, feeling embarrassed.

Like Fang, Hagrid is clearly not as ferocious as he looks.

"you are great."

On the way back to the castle, the three of them gave Albert a thumbs up in unison and praised.

"Do you want it?" Albert asked as he took out the small bundle of unicorn tail hair from his pocket.

"Forget it, what do you want this for?"

"Give it to my sister as a birthday present, she must have never seen unicorn tail hair!" Albert has already figured it out, if there is no wood from the sorrel tree, he will use unicorn tail hair to weave a bracelet for Nia makes a birthday present.

"Birthday gift?" Several people looked at each other in dismay.

"By the way, what birthday present did we give Ginny this year?" Fred suddenly asked his twin brother.

   "Licorice Wand."

"What about Ron?" Fred asked again.

"Fudge flies and cockroach clusters," said George without thinking.

Albert suddenly felt that it was not easy for Ron to have such a brother.
