The Mechanical Dragon

※Bummel’s point of view※

“Kakka, kakka! Don’t look at me like I can help you.”

The iron box, which had attacked so vigorously earlier, was suddenly quiet.

The magic attack with the arrows of light had also stopped.

‘It seems to be working. ……!’

Bummel thought that once the enemy was caged in the iron box, a heat steaming attack might be effective.

He then directed attacks of the Red Dragons(Medium), normal dragons and other types that could breathe fire, which he deployed in the sky above.

The number of large dragons summoned alone was considerable.

It would be difficult for one of them to keep spitting out breaths, so he used the fire breaths from the dragons in turn and in sequence.

The resulting sea of flames incessantly burned the land below.

The Red Dragons, Normal Dragons and Lesser Dragons under Bummel.

The various types of dragons spit out their specialised breaths in rotation and…

Pow! a bursting sound.

As if that sound was a signal, bangpapabang! a series of popping sounds were heard.

The source of the sound was the top of the iron box, the lump of iron that Nasser was holding up.

Seeing an opportunity to destroy it, Bummel fired more dragon breaths in rapid succession.

As he continued to fire as constantly as possible, the black iron cylinder protruding from the top of the iron box stood up in rapid succession – papa-papa-pan! and finally crumpled with a popping sound.

It was then melted limply and bent by the heat.

‘Kukuku……. After all!’

It was still ──── iron.

There was no way the flames wouldn’t work.

“Well, it’s about time you got steamed up …… hmmm ────???”

Bummel was in a good mood and smiling, but suddenly noticed a strange noise and a strange presence. Then he  looked up at the sky.

Yes, it was Bummel in the sky that looked up.

Further up in the sky was────.

Guoooooooooooooon ……!

‘What’s that? Is that a beast’s… , roar?’

Something was blocking the sun.

It was a black silhouette.

The sun’s rays spilling from the silhouette shone on Bummel’s retinas – they seemed to glisten.

“Whaaat?”

Bummel couldn’t figure out what that black silhouette was but something was blocking the sun.

‘A dragon ……?’

It was the first thing that came to Bummel’s mind.

Something that he himself summoned and ordered to protect himself – that was  what he thought of.

He was so used to it that he knew what a dragon looked like.

The most powerful species that controlled the sky. Dragons. ────.

But it was an unknown dragon that Bummel had yet witnessed.

“Did Nasser call you out…? No.”

Guoooooooonun ────! !!

“────But that’s not a dragon!”

It emerged from the sun, spreading across the field of vision and approaching until it covered the sun with its shadow.

Its silhouette was not a ──── dragon!

It was not a dragon!

Not a dragon!

“What the hell is that, ──────!!?”

‘It’s like a bird. No, a sword. ────?’

The sword had a brim that filled the sky and a blade that extended to the hips. The tip facing him had a windmill-like thing on it, and behind it was a glass window. ────

“W-what!! There’s a man on board?!”

When Bummel realised this, the storm of destruction came.

── DoDoDoDoDoDoDoDoDoDo!!!

As soon as the tip and brim of the weapon seemed to flicker, a band of light or rather an arrow of flame, like a volcanic eruption, rained down from above.

“Khhh! Evade!!”

Zubaan! The black silhouette, neither a sword nor a bird, passed by, and a dragon caught in the flames was shot down and disappeared.

“…Ridi..culous..”

The Frost Dragon that Bummel rode also seemed to have taken a few shots of fire because of its huge size.

It was not as powerful as the attack that the iron box had given earlier on the ground, but it was powerful enough to pierce through the thick skin of the dragon and tore its wings to shreds.

“Ku….! What is that? It’s like a dragon!”

This was the first time for Bummel to see an enemy who had killed out a pack of dragons in just a single swoop.

But it would not be the end of it.

“It’s coming back!”

Woooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

From the dragon’s point of view, while turning at a heavy angle, its speed and climbing power were not half bad.

But that thing was still maintaining the same speed  ──────!

“Ridiculous!!! Fight back! Burn! Freeze it! Bite it down!”

The dragons followed Bummel’s orders and try to release their power breath, but the thing roared from far, much faster than the dragon’s breath.

Zudododododododododododo ────! !!

“Gooooouuu!”

The Frost Dragon, which was supposed to be in control, twitched in fear of the volcanic eruption-like attack.

Then the thing rushed in and knocked the Frost Dragon and its packs off.

There was no thought of counterattack.

“W-what the hell is this monster!”

Bummel screamed, but suddenly felt a floating sensation when he huffed…..

“Hyo?”

Bummel looked down at his own dumb voice only to find that the Frost Dragon he was astride was nowhere to be seen!

He only saw glittering light particles caused by his dragon being unsummoned. – …….

“Hyooooooaaaaaaaaa!!”

Bummel felt fluffy and weightless, and then he felt a floating sensation as if his internal organs were being pushed up.

“D-drago-ooooon!”

Bummel reached out for help.

Ground level was just around the corner!

He was so panicked that he could not even think about calling up a new one.

Just in time, a small dragon with  lvl 1-2 came to save him.

Not much of a force to be reckoned with, but for him it was good enough.

But somehow, Bummel successfully missed the impact and he continued to wobble and crash towards the ground.

On closer inspection, the dragon was also wounded.

The dragon started to show glittering light particles that were shining, as it must also be at its limit.

And as soon as Bummel crash-landed on the ground, it disappeared.

‘Sorry – ……’

Bummel  got up and looked up at the sky.

The scene that unfolded there was a hellscape for him.

“M-my dragons …..”

Bummel, who was called the Dragon Master and was feared and respected, no longer existed.

The only one who was here was an old man, dressed in tatters.

Beyond the sky, a group of dragons were being torn to shreds by the enemy and disappearing.

Now there was only one left and ────── it too had disappeared.

“Unbelievable……..”

‘What kind of enemy could do this?’

Bummel thought only ancient dragons and legendary beings were capable of such tricks.

‘Nasser ──── you …….’

“—That didn’t take long.”

“Nasser!?”

Nasser Virginia himself was approaching Bummel, who was slumped to the ground in a sticky mess.

“What the hell was that? I’ve never heard or seen a dragon like that!”

“….That’s..a Messerschmitt Bf109G.”

The Nasser  in Bummel’s eyes was no longer the  dragon summoner who was once considered the strongest.

He was ──────.

Nasser Virginia, whose mouth was twisted.

His dragon roared powerfully as it danced in the sky to answer the darkness in his heart and the fire of vengeance -.

Guuuuuvuvvvvvvvunun!!!

‘That’s… a Messerschmitt …………?’

Nasser stood in front of Bummel, who crackled.

He declared in high spirits.

“This is ──────.

Nasser took a deep breath..

───── my dragon!!!!”
