Chapter 17 – Masked Men and Women

It was a beautiful day on the first day of school and Shen Yu’s room was lit up by 6am.

Bai Xiaomeng is nestled in the crook of his arm, and Shen Yu’s breathing is even, his eyelids fluttering gently as he begins to wake up.

When you first wake up in the morning, your hearing is at its best throughout the day.

Shen Yu, in a daze, also heard the faintest sound from outside the door of his room, and there was the sign of an additional girl in the house that had always been occupied alone.

Asaba Rika woke up early and slept much better after a hot bath last night, and the annoying mosquitoes were gone after using electric mosquito tablets.

Girls are certainly much slower to get out of the house than boys, and while boys can sleep in until 7.50am, girls have to get ready at least an hour and a half earlier.

It was the first day of school and Asaba Rika had never been to school and didn’t know how to get around. Shen Yu promised to take her to breakfast at 7.30am, so Rika got up at 6am.

Tiptoeing around, washing up, changing clothes and putting on make-up for fear of waking Shen Yu.

When she was ready and waiting for Shen Yu in the living room, Shen Yu yawned and pushed open the door.

” Shen Yu! Good morning!”

Shen Yu gave her a look, he never seemed to see Asaba Rika in bad shape, she always looked so full of energy, her face was delicate and lovely, her clothes were clean and pretty.

“Hmm.”

Shen Yu responded indifferently and went to wash up with a towel and toothbrush.

The face wash is a real treat.

After washing, I felt like my cheeks were breathing freely after being bored all night, and I felt much more refreshed.

Shen Yu is already a sophomore and there is nothing special about the start of the school year, just bring your campus card and your books for today’s classes, stuff them in your backpack and you’re done.

Bai Xiaomeng could refuse the beauty of the girl, but she couldn’t refuse the food, so she patted the bag of cat food and meowed twice, telling her that she wanted to eat beef today.

Asaba Rika didn’t know, so he went to open the chicken-flavoured bag.

“Meow wow?”

Asaba Rika apologised to Bai Xiaomeng, poured him beef-flavoured cat food and took the opportunity to pet him on the head, before Bai Xiaomeng glanced at her with disgust and took his cat bowl elsewhere.

” Xiaomeng, you’re so bad! You didn’t treat me like this yesterday when I was reading the comics” grunted Asaba Rika.

“Meow.”

“What’s the comic?” Shen Yu strokes Bai Xiaomeng, jerking him from head to tail root, and Bai Xiaomeng responds affectionately, his big tail sticking up high.

“No, no, no,” Asaba Rika hurriedly denied.

“Have you packed all your things?” Shen Yu asked, looking at the time.

“Put it all away!”

Asaba Rika carries a beige canvas tote bag over her shoulder, containing study abroad materials to take to school and the mug she bought yesterday.

Japanese girls don’t drink hot water, so it’s filled with cool white water.

“Let’s go then.”

“Mmmmmm!”

Asaba Rika jogs over to Shen Yu and follows him down the stairs.

Asaba Rika’s nose is very good and he smells Shen Yu’s scent today, which seems to be different, with a faint smell of vanilla.

” Shen Yu, isn’t the cleanser super nice?”

Shen Yu paused visibly on his way down the stairs, turned his head to look at her, saw her little nose twitching, and asked, “Are you a dog?”

“No! You smell especially good today.”

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard Shen Yu complimented on how handsome he is, how smart he is, how tall he is, but today is the first time someone has complimented him on how good he smells, just like a puppy.

“It’s hard to use.”

“I don’t believe it.”

Asaba Rika was very proud of herself, as if it was a big deal to be able to get the tough as steel Shen Yu to use a face wash in the way she lives.

How about giving him an encore mask later?

There are many men’s masks that are also superb, Shen Yu will love them after using them

” Shen Yu , is that agreement from last night cancelled?”

“If you don’t want to talk, then that can come back into effect now as well.”

“No no no.”

Asaba Rika waved his hand quickly and said, “I’ll suffocate if I don’t talk to you, I can only say ten words a day and all of a sudden it’s gone.”

Shen Yu was also a bit baffled, Asaba Rika was the most talkative girl he had ever met, could it be because she was just learning? Like a child who has just started talking, she always wants to talk?

After all, he had seen many girls who were interested in getting close to him, and after seeing his almost always cold response, he basically stopped making a fool of himself.

It’s about a ten-minute walk from home to Suzhou University, but the university campus is huge and it’s another ten minutes or so from the entrance to the classrooms of the different faculties.

Usually, Shen Yu rides his motorbike to school, driving is not suitable and too high profile.

Arriving at the courtyard and looking at the only electric car, Shen Yu realised that he had overlooked how Asaba Rika got to school.

Asaba Rika didn’t think too much about it, standing next to the electric car with a curious look on his face, how to get to school?

Of course Shen Yu will take me there!

She had never been in an electric car before and her heart was full of anticipation.

“Do you know how to ride a bike? There are a lot of shared bikes out there.” Shen Yu asks.

Asaba Rika shook his head: “I fell once when I was a kid, it hurt so much that I didn’t dare to ride anymore”

“Tell you what then, I’ll drive slowly on my electric bike and you walk beside me.”

“?”

Shen Yu, don’t your conscience hurt when you say such cruel things to a lovely girl!

” Shen Yu ”

Asaba Rika said pathetically, “I want to take the electric car”

Shen Yu is back with what she said last night: “It’ll be misunderstood and delay you from finding a date.”

“It’s okay, I just have to keep my head down and not look at them so they can’t see me.”

“???”

Asaba Rika got bold, she was going to take the electric car today, so she sat on the back seat sideways on one hip, squeezed her little skirt, gathered her white and beautiful legs and refused to get up.

“Don’t.”

“You’re mean, aren’t you.”

There’s really no rule of law

Shen Yu ignored her and turned around to go back inside.

Asaba Rika’s little heart was pounding, it was just so exciting, it felt like dancing on the edge of a cliff.

As she wondered what Shen Yu was doing back in the house, Shen Yu came out with two helmets.

“It’s okay if you want to ride a bike, bring a helmet.”

“”

Asaba Rika compromised with Shen Yu wearing a large helmet, she sat behind with a small helmet and Shen Yu pulled her reflective visor down to prevent being recognised by others.

Otherwise, he would have been bored enough every day just answering questions like who is your girlfriend and you’re in love.

Shen Yu’s own helmet has a reflective visor pulled down, so unless you know him well, you won’t recognise him.

The two looked like a masked warrior.

Asaba Rika feels excited about why going to school is so exciting, it feels like the hero and heroine in her comic sneaking off to the grove.

“Gone.”

“Ah!”

The electric car starts, Asaba Rika shakes a little and wraps his arms around Shen Yu’s waist.

“You let go!”

“No, no loose!”
