Chapter 36 – Rika’s Preserves

“Do you have class this afternoon?”

Shen Yu and Asaba Rika walked together on the school path, naturally attracting the attention of many students as they were accompanied by the young and beautiful girls.

Shen Yu was uncomfortable at first, as it used to be the female students who would gawk at him, but now even the male students were gawking at him.

Asaba Rika shook his head, “No class yet, Shen Yu is going to class?”

“Not taking the electric car today?”

“You can’t remember the way until next year if you take the electric car every day, I’ll walk you through it and you’ll remember it quicker.”

With classes in the afternoon, Shen Yu planned to walk back on her own in the afternoon and take the car back after class, otherwise it would be too much of a hassle to have to carry the little idiot with her every time.

From her observations of Asaba Rika over the past few days, Shen Yu has learnt that there is no way to make her memorise the roads by explaining them in a data-based manner, unless, as she says, she walks them ten or a hundred times, and then she will remember them.

Shen Yu has come up with a more efficient way of getting Asaba Rika’s attention with something she is more interested in, and then her memory is naturally better than ever.

The two men had already walked out of the school gates.

Shen Yu pointed to the stall vendors on this side of the back door and said, “See? There are a lot of snack vendors here, every day, what do you want to eat?”

Asaba Rika’s eyes lit up and he happily looked around the place before pointing to a sugar cane vendor off to the side.

“I want to drink sugar cane juice!”

Other snacks around the area smelled good too, but I was just full and couldn’t eat for a while.

Shen Yu then took her to buy two glasses of sugar cane juice, freshly peeled and pressed through a grinder, which tasted very refreshing and sweet.

Rika is holding a cup in both hands, sipping a straw with her mouth, her expression is very relaxed, she is always smiling, especially smiling, when she is happy, her big eyes will be narrowed like a crescent moon, sometimes Shen Yu is not paying attention, she will unconsciously be caught by her smile, feel like the world around her is quiet.

She looks at Shen Yu and smiles much sweeter than candied fruit.

Shen Yu was going to say no, he wasn’t keen on sweet things, but Rika loved the sweetness, like a little girl who hadn’t grown up.

Puffs also has a sweet tooth, and when I think of Puffs, I can’t help but see her with her mouth puckered up on one side, holding some kind of hard candy, and talking sweetly.

“What’s so sweet about it?”

Shen Yu whispered, but his body acted honestly, extending his fingers to take the preserves.

The preserves are so big that Asaba Rika squeezes them with two fingers and Shen Yu catches them with two fingers.
