She purses her lips when he enters her again. He rams into her furiously, making her feel like she would break under him anytime. Her next words turn into gasps and m.o.a.ns. He bends down and bites into her b.r.e.a.s.t, making her bleed, l.i.c.k.i.n.g and teasing the wound. It's painful, but she doesn't understand why her body is inflamed. She wants more of him.

She opens her mouth to ask him to stop, but the words that she utters are opposite. She begs desperately, "Faster, please, faster."

Sei moves with inhuman speed. Dark bruises form on her t.h.i.g.hs. Blood leaks out along with the warm fluids, dripping on the bedsheet. Wakana curls her toes, panting for air. Her body still wants more of him, though it is hurting her. More. More. More. Until she breaks under him.

With a loud growl, he comes inside her. Taking deep breaths, his eyes become clear. He looks at her with a frown. Why is she bleeding? They have already done it before. She shouldn't be bleeding like this? And how did she get those bruises? Did he do it to her? He pulls his c.o.c.k out of her. The sight of blood sends cold jolts in his body. His heart drums against his c.h.e.s.t. He shakes his head, swallowing his saliva. He takes her in his arms and c.a.r.e.s.ses her cheek. "Wakana, wake up."

Her eyes flutter. The mist is cleared away by his shouts. The pain in her body makes her wince. What just happened? She was going to explain that she didn't have any feelings for Choi Minho. "Sei?"

"Thank goodness!" He takes a breath of relief. "I thought that I killed you."

She bites her lip when she sees the blood. For some reasons, the soothing coolness is back in her body. The pain is disappearing. Her wounds are healing. Whatever Choi Minho did to her, the effect is still here. "What happened? You weren't acting like yourself."

"I am sorry." Sei looks at her apologetically. "Let's go to the hospital."

Wakana furrows her brows slightly, shaking her head.

Why did she act like that? It was wrong. She should have asked him to stop.

Something inside her is intertwined into itself. How did her simple feelings have small knots now?

And she's not in pain because of that person.

"I am fine. It doesn't hurt anymore."

He releases his breath, relieved. "Let's get you cleaned up."

Wakana gives him a nod. After taking a bath again, she comes back to the bedroom. Sei has cleaned up the bed. She watches him making space in the wardrobe for her clothes. She hasn't brought all of her stuff here. What should she do with her apartment? Maybe she should keep it? But Sei might feel that she hasn't accepted the marriage completely. Then again, what does it mean to be married? Living together? Companionship? It feels too empty.

He looks over his shoulder and smiles at her. She smiles back. Her muscles feel stiff to continue smiling. Did she do the right thing? Sei opens her bag and takes out her clothes. After folding them neatly, he puts them in the empty space in the wardrobe. He doesn't seem uneasy about this. Then, why is she uneasy? She knows this person. She grew up observing him, learning about him, and loving him in secret. She even became a police officer to accompany him. Then, she reached a limit. However, they met again. She's no longer a police officer now.

So many things have happened in this week.

The angel also showed himself. She has new memories that feel old. In the last seven years, she was never alone. When she wanted to know about that man, he was with her; and she knows him now, but he's not with her anymore. She wanted to be with Minami Sei so much once. Sei is with her now, but she can't feel the happiness that she expected to feel.

Love.

Her one-sided love tasted bitter, challenging, and exhausting with occasional rain of happiness that kept her from moving on. That day, when Sei asked her to stay away from him… or the day when he sounded like he was annoyed with her… it felt like heartbreaks. However, those were not heartbreaks. A heartbreak is rather soundless. Someone's silence can feel like a twisting knife. The unspoken words can hurt more than the spoken ones. The forced kiss could taste like poison, destroying everything between two people.

So, he loves her. But he would rather erase her memories than… It's strange. Why are there people like him? It was better if she had never received her memories back. Then, she wouldn't feel this way now.

She's trying to untie the knots in her heart. But it's not working. The more she tries to untie the knots, messier it becomes. She can't figure out the source.

Sei studies her quiet frame. Her head is low, strands of her bangs covering her eyes. The dark shirt only reaches up to her t.h.i.g.h. She seems lost, drowning in melancholy. At this moment, she appears to be too far away from him. Even if he reaches for her, she won't take his hand.

Your wife is thinking about another man.

The whispers come back to taunt him. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. Did he lose his temper? Is that why he did that to her? He shouldn't have done that. He trusts her. She wouldn't have married him if she didn't love him. No, she has always been in love with him, although he can't tell when she fell for him. She's been watching him for so long and he's been aware of her gaze following his back. When he's in front of her, her head is lowered. Why is that?

He's been too slow. If he had realized it earlier, nobody else would have gotten a chance to influence her. That man has been protecting Wakana when he wasn't even aware of her world.

A world that is full of unknown variables.

She looks so lonely when he's right there. Even if she's like this, he's going to hold her hand. Her heart might waver, but she belongs to him now. He won't let her go. Ever.

Minami Sei takes her hand and pulls her suddenly. She stands up, falling in his embrace. In a daze, she looks up at him with a slight frown.

"I am starving." He beams at her. "I am sure that you also need energy after intense physical activities."

She blushes, lowering her gaze. "Don't say it like that."

"I am stating facts." He chuckles, holding her tightly. "I am truly sorry. I won't do that to you again."

Not knowing what to say, she puts her arm around his waist. But why did he act like that? For a moment, it felt like it wasn't him at all. "Why did you say that about Choi Minho?"

His arms tighten around her. Relationsh.i.p.s are so fragile, easily broken by a word. He shouldn't have said that. "I was jealous."

That's unexpected. She used to be jealous of the girl who could talk to him when they were in school. She sighs.  Things are different now. She shouldn't be hiding things from him. He's her husband now. "You don't have to be jealous of him. He's…" Why does she feel guilty? "He was that man who saved me all those years ago. He is not bad."

"He did that to you." He says with a low voice, "You still think that he's a good man."

"He wanted to prove something." And she knows the reason now. He's been trying hard to keep her abilities in a dormant state. Why is that? Is he doing this because he loves her or there's another reason? "I am indebted to him for…" She won't be able to let Sei hold her like this if her abilities ever wake up fully. "Keeping me normal." enough to love someone.

Gratitude.

Maybe that's all there is. However, she wants to know the reason why she isn't even allowed to feel gratitude for that person.

The atmosphere is too heavy. Sei pulls her cheeks and grins widely. She yelps. "Sei, don't do this…"

"They aren't chubby anymore." He pinches her nose, looking into her eyes. "I miss your chubby body from middle school."

"I lost all the weight because of you." She scowls at him. "If I had known that you would be missing it now, I would have never run like dogs were on my tail."

"You should have just asked me." He snorts at her.

"You didn't like me back then," She grumbles. This man is too much. He even threw away her precious snacks in the trash.

"I didn't know that I liked you back then." He scratches his chin, puckering his lips. "And you were a little creepy stalker. I thought that you needed therapy."

He didn't know that the supernatural world is real. "In addition to that, your elder sister hated me. It was clear that she didn't want me to get closer to you."

Her elder sister. Wakana releases her breath. Will she survive the meeting? They are still siblings. She won't be killed.

And Choi Minho... She's not going to let him manipulate her anymore. She has every right to know why he's helping her. No, it's not exactly helping. He's trying to keep something from happening. If he couldn't tell her the reasons in seven long years, he will never tell her.

She will find it out. Whether she's a part of supernatural investigation agency or not, she's going to investigate Choi Minho and her connection with him.
