Chapter 92 - Don't unlock

He lays her down gently on the bed. She seems to be asleep, but he knows well that she's watching his memories. His brother could see memories, feel the emotions, and kill people with a touch. Wakana has all the abilities that his brother had.

Choi Minho sits beside her, holding her warm hand. Her warmth is a sign that she's alive. He takes a glance at the window. In the distant, the mountains are covered with the mists. The moonlight filters through the window and brightens the room slightly. The mountain breeze enters the room, softly c.a.r.e.s.sing his cheek as if something is trying to comfort him.

"It's cold." He squeezes her hand. "Don't hate me too much after seeing everything."

And he's ashamed of showing himself to her.

She's not the only victim. He has tried to pay all the victims' family. But nothing can replace the people who are gone. Helping them with money or making a small miracle in their lives might make their lives a little better. However, they have always missed their lost ones whenever something important was happening.

When it comes to Wakana, he doesn't know how to pay on his brother's behalf.

Suppressing her abilities to give her a chance to live a normal life was the only choice that he had. He has been always afraid that she would become something like his brother or the Monarch would find her.

Choi Minho covers her with the blanket. He stares at her face for a long time. Cupping her face with his palm, he leans down and kisses her forehead. "Please wake up soon."

He walks out of the room and closes the door. Feeling tired, he sits down and leans against the wall. Closing his eyes, he lets out a sigh. She's going to find out everything.

He's been trying to hide it for so long. After she finds out that she got those abilities because of his brother, she will hate him forever.

"I thought that I was fine if she hated me." He whispers. His c.h.e.s.t tightens at the thought of her looking at him for being the reason why she became what she is today. If he could stop his brother, his brother might not have left. Isn't this partly his fault?

He was been so scared to confront his brother again. That's why he never chased his brother when his brother was on a killing spree. If his brother had never met her, she could have been living a normal life. Receiving his brother's abilities did heal her body, but it gave her a disease that was worse than any physical disease that she had in the past. Everything is his fault.

"I was wrong. I don't want to be hated by her."

He can't endure it anymore.

"I wish I could go back in time."

But the time god is gone. Even if he was here, the god of time would have never agreed to turn back time again. He looks at his hand. "Would you despise me after finding out everything?"

Things won't be the same between them. If only there was some way to turn her back the way she was…

Minami Sei opens his eyes, turning his head slightly toward the person sitting beside the bed. The bright light from the light bulb on the wall blinds him for a moment. He furrows his brows as the faint scent of disinfectant enters his nose. He turns his head away and looks at the opened window, letting the sound of traffic transmit into the room. It's already dark. This is not his room or the bas.e.m.e.nt. Is he in a hospital? "Wakana…"

His voice stirs her awake. She blinks her eyes rapidly, gripping the edge of the bed. "You are awake."

This is not Wakana's voice. Who? He widens his eyes. "Sayuri?"

"Yes, your wife's sister." Sayuri sneers at him. The only reason why she's here is that he's Wakana's husband. Otherwise, she would have thrown him out of the window. There's no sign of Wakana and he was brought here in a half-dead state. "Where's Wakana? You told me that you would find her. That's why I didn't say anything to Elder Sister. I am going to get killed if Elder Sister finds out that I hid it from her."

Thankfully, her elder sister is busy trying to find out about the house that Sayuri drew. She hasn't called her yet.

"I saw her." Minami Sei sits up. His body has a dull ache, especially in the centre of his c.h.e.s.t. Choi Minho was there with Wakana. Then, where is she now?

"Where?" Sayuri leans closer, resting her arms on the bed. "Is she alright? Did that asshole do something to her?"

Minami Sei glances at her. He hasn't expected her to curse out loud. "She looked fine physically."

And he hasn't forgotten how she wanted to kill him. Her intent was clear as the day. Why did she do it? He strips off the IV and climbs off the bed, only to stagger forward as he realizes that his body doesn't have any strength to walk.

Sayuri coils his arm around him and pushes him back on the bed. "Look, I don't want my sister to become a widow. You are in no position to leave the hospital ward. Tell me where she is. I will look for her by myself."

"She was probably taken away by somebody." Minami Sei looks for his phone. He finds it on the table beside the bed. Is Wakana alright? What if that man harms her again?

"Somebody?" Sayuri frowns at him. So, Wakana isn't with that perverted dead man. Did her sister get kidnapped again? She puts her hands on his shoulders and looks into his eyes. "Minami-kun, can you tell me what is going on? She's my sister. I need to know if I must tell my Elder Sister or not."
