Chapter 337

The [Survivors] team was busy with editing work after finishing the filming.

They thought they would need more time because of the unplanned director’s cut, but thanks to the effects of the two sets and the actors who filmed without much NG, they managed to keep up with the schedule.

The planning team leader of Bearound went to see Jeffrey, the director who was stuck in the editing room as usual.

As expected, he saw Jeffrey inside the [Survivors] editing room, not taking his eyes off the monitor.

It looked like he was working on the theatrical version, not the director’s cut.

‘I thought he would do the director’s cut first…’

It was a relief for Bearound, who was waiting for the theatrical version of [Survivors].

The planning team leader, who was standing quietly so as not to disturb him, spoke to Jeffrey when he saw him take his eyes off the monitor and stretch his back.

“Director, how about taking a break?”

“Ah. Should I?”

Jeffrey didn’t seem surprised by the familiar situation and rotated his stiff shoulders. The planning team leader pulled a chair nearby and sat down.

“Is the editing going well?”

“Yes. It’s been a while since I had so much fun editing.”

“When are you planning to do the director’s cut?”

“I’m going to finish the theatrical version first and then edit the director’s cut. There is an internal preview scheduled, but I can re-edit the director’s cut after that.”

The planning team leader nodded and said.

“We’ll have to request new music for the director’s cut.”

Jeffrey thought for a moment and opened his mouth.

“How about arranging the music from the theatrical version?”

The planning team leader rolled his eyes.

Other movies’ director’s cuts also used the music from the theatrical versions, but after reading [Survivors Director’s Cut_Edit7_8_Final_Final2_End_Real End_Completed], he thought they should make new music for it.

“Wouldn’t it be better to request new ones?”

“No. I think arranging would be better.”

The planning team leader was used to Jeffrey’s stubborn eyes.

He wondered how people could change so much from such a small cause.

“Okay. Then I’ll tell that to the music director. Should I send him the script for the director’s cut?”

There were two ways to work on movie music.

The first was to read the script and make music according to the director’s direction, and then insert it into the video.

The second was to watch the edited movie and make music with reference to the director’s intention.

The script for [Survivors] theatrical version had already been sent to the music director.

Jeffrey, who had been rubbing his chin for a while, opened his mouth.

“Let’s send him the video for the director’s cut.”

“Okay. I got it.”

The planning team leader nodded.

Unlike the filming that had some accidents, the post-production was smooth and he felt relieved.

Jeffrey, who was about to focus on editing again, turned his head and looked at the planning team leader who was about to leave the editing room.

“Oh. By the way, this week is the premiere, right?”

“Huh? Oh. Yes.”

The planning team leader paused for a moment at Jeffrey’s words and answered.

There was only one movie that premiered this week.

“You mean Assemble4. Yes. It premieres this Saturday.”

April.

[Assemble4], which concluded season 1 of Marine Hero movies, premiered.

***

In front of a crowded movie theater.

“It’s over.”

Park Jio, who had been running around outside until yesterday because of soccer practice, looked up at Assemble4 posters that covered the theater.

His twin brother Park Jihu, who was sitting next to him, was studying English words.

“It’s about time.”

“But I thought Seo-jun would be in Assemble at least once.”

“He can’t be in it because he’s not a hero. They say Shadowman isn’t even in Assemble4.”

“I’m just saying it’s a shame.”

Jio took his eyes off Assemble4 posters and looked around.

It had been two weeks since Assemble4 premiered.

There were still many audiences because it was a Marine movie.

“We first watched Marine movies with Shadowman1, right?”

Jihu nodded at Jio’s words.

“We watched it because Seo-jun was in it. Was it when we were 8 or 7?”

“It was when Shadowman 2 came out.”

They couldn’t watch it when it premiered because they were too young and thought they wouldn’t understand it even if they watched it. They watched it later at home.

“Yeah. We watched it at Seo-jun’s house…”

They remembered crying with their childhood friends at Seo-jun’s house.

Since then, they had been following Marine movies.

“We’re here!”

They saw Mina Owen and Kim Jiyoon running towards them.

They ran over thinking everyone was there, but they didn’t see Seo-jun.

“Seo-jun hasn’t arrived yet, I guess.”

Jiyoon lowered her voice and said. Jihu and Mina smiled at that.

“Yeah. He hasn’t arrived yet.”

“Nobody would care if you say Seo-jun here. They would think it’s a common name.”

“But you never know.”

Jio rolled his eyes, feeling embarrassed. They had already talked about Seo-jun without caring about other people’s ears.

“Did they hear?”

“Don’t be scared, you dummy.”

Jihu said and Jio pouted. Jiyoon and Mina giggled at the twins who hadn’t changed a bit.

“Jihu, are you studying English words?”

“Yeah. They said they would test me at the academy.”

“Ugh. I hate it.”

“You have to learn a foreign language too if you want to go to Europe like Sihyuk oppa.”

“…I guess so?”

Jio nodded his head with a sullen face, thinking of Jung Sihyuk, a soccer player who was active in Europe.

“Let’s talk to Seo-jun in English when we see him.”

“It would be better than learning from books. I’ll help you too.”

Jio crossed his arms and pondered at Jiyoon and Mina’s words.

“…I don’t think I can say a word?”

They imagined Jio trying to talk in English and then communicating with gestures after a moment of silence.

“But Seo-jun would understand, right?”

“Yeah.”

They laughed, thinking of Seo-jun who would understand Jio’s crappy body language. Mina also smiled and tapped her phone.

<Seo-jun, where are you?

Jihu: Everyone is here except you

Seo-jun: ;;;Why are you guys here so early?

Seo-jun: I’m almost there! Wait a bit!

“Seo-jun said he’s almost here.”

“Did you buy the tickets?”

“Yeah. I have them here.”

As they chatted about what to do after watching the movie, they saw a conspicuous person from afar. A student with a black hat and a slime badge.

“Oh. It’s Seo-jun.”

They had a knack for it, as childhood friends.

Even though he tried to hide his presence from others, the four kids spotted Seo-jun right away.

Seo-jun smiled brightly when he met their eyes.

The kids’ faces also brightened.

“It’s amazing every time.”

“Yeah. No one recognizes him.”

He covered his face with a hat, but it was still surprising that people didn’t recognize him.

“But Seo-jun in movies and dramas seems like a different person.”

“That’s true.”

“He’s really good at acting, after all.”

The reason was simple.

The childhood friends knew Seo-jun as a person, not as a superstar.

“Hi!”

Seo-jun, who wore a black hat, arrived last.

The four kids, who had been friends with him since they were babies, greeted him with bright smiles.

***

They talked about this and that, and soon it was time for [Assemble4] to start.

“It’s time. Let’s go watch the movie.”

“We’re going to have lunch, right?”

“Yeah. But I also want popcorn.”

They couldn’t miss popcorn, even though they were going to have lunch.

They laughed and bought snacks according to their preferences and entered the theater.

As they always did when they were young, they sat in the middle of the five seats so that others wouldn’t notice them.

Seo-jun waited for [Assemble4] to start while eating caramel popcorn.

“The ads are long.”

“Yeah. Jio, do you want nachos?”

“Sure.”

“Me too, just one.”

The long and tedious movie ads passed by and finally the logo of Marine appeared on the screen.

[Assemble4]

It was the beginning of the last story.

***

“It was really fun!”

“They must have worked hard for the finale. The CG was insane.”

Seo-jun agreed with Jiyoon’s words.

[Assemble4] was really fun.

He watched his acting in [Survivors] and then saw Davis Garrett of Redbone. It felt fresh.

He also wondered what kind of improvisation he had shown in [Assemble 4].

‘But they wouldn’t have changed the whole second half like Survivors.’

He still laughed when he thought about it.

It was a hilarious filming.

He felt like there wouldn’t be such a filming again.

“4D would be fun too.”

“Yeah. Should we go see it later?”

Not only Seo-jun and the kids, but also the people who came to see Assemble4 were talking with bright faces as if they were satisfied.

There were also people who had watched it several times.

“Let’s go have lunch. I have a place that my friends recommended.”

“If it’s recommended by Jori’s student, we have to try it!”

Mina’s words made the kids’ eyes sparkle.

Mina’s friend recommended a place that sold steak and pasta.

It wasn’t too far from the theater. It was on the third floor of a building in an alley and it seemed not very famous yet because it hadn’t been open for long.

They sat down at their seats with the guidance of the staff and looked around the inside of the store.

The space between the tables was quite spacious and the interior was clean.

“How did you find this place?”

“My friends’ hobby is making a map of restaurants. They go to see new places as soon as they open.”

The kids exclaimed at Mina’s words.

They looked at the menu and ordered various dishes.

“Jihu, are you studying English words?”

“Yeah. They said they would test me at the academy.”

“Ugh. I hate it.”

“You have to learn a foreign language too if you want to go to Europe like Sihyuk oppa.”
