Chapter 720

“Cut! NG!”

Director Jonathan shouted.

The faces of Seo-jun, who turned his body back with a surprised expression, and Kirk Lawrence, who had a fierce expression with half of his face covered by a hat, relaxed.

“The scream was too early. A little later…”

The NG was not because of the two actors’ performances, but because of an extra actor.

Seo-jun, who was watching the extra actors being warned, turned his head and looked at Kirk Lawrence.

He was a good actor, even though he only filmed a short scene, as he was cast by Director Jonathan and Marinsa. Seo-jun was not too worried, as he had seen him act naturally in the works he had watched.

‘They were all similar characters, though.’

And seeing Kirk Lawrence getting off the bus without any change in his expression for the next shoot, he seemed to have a good personality, as Evan and Jonathan had said.

‘I want to be friends with him.’

Seo-jun, who was very generous to ‘actors’, sparkled his eyes.

But he couldn’t just talk to him without hesitation. He wanted to be friends, but Kirk Lawrence might feel differently.

‘He’s the type who only comes to work.’

Of course, Seo-jun also thought of acting as work.

The huge investment of the production company, the countless staff, the directors and actors, the set built for the work, the enormous publicity cost, etc.

Considering the money and people that depended on the success of the work, it would be strange not to think of it as work.

So he acted more responsibly, and worked hard on every scene.

But underneath that, there was a passion for acting.

It was the same for the people around Seo-jun.

They had different acting styles, but they were full of passion and love for acting.

They could talk excitedly for a day or two if they brought up the topic of acting.

‘What about Kirk Lawrence?’

He had never worked in a company, but he had seen some scripts and posts on the internet related to the company.

Work is only at work.

That seemed to be the sentence that the office workers agreed on.

‘Is Kirk Lawrence like that too?’

An actor without passion for acting.

Of course, Seo-jun didn’t think that every actor had a passion for acting. There were so many actors, and they would have different thoughts.

‘But I still want to talk to him…’

Seo-jun glanced at Kirk Lawrence with a cautious look. It would be uncomfortable if a new colleague came up to him.

Kirk Lawrence felt Seo-jun’s cautious look very well.

‘I heard it from Evan…’

Unlike Seo-jun, who had his first shoot today, Kirk Lawrence had filmed with Evan Block several times.

They sometimes talked, and the topic that never missed was Seo-jun.

Evan Block himself sometimes suffered from mannerism, but he said that Seo-jun was an actor who never lost his love for acting since he was young.

‘He likes actors a lot.’

He said that while smiling at him.

‘I see what he means.’

The occasional glimpses of Seo-jun’s eyes, which said he wanted to be friends, made Kirk Lawrence more nervous.

“We’re starting the shoot!”

The shoot resumed with the shout of Matthew, the assistant director.

Then, Seo-jun’s eyes that sometimes looked at Kirk Lawrence changed. So did the atmosphere. Anyone who saw him for the first time would exclaim, ‘Wow, that actor is really into acting!’

It was like seeing a person who loved his job shine brightly.

The love for acting.

Kirk Lawrence, who wore a hat and a hood, looked at Seo-jun. It was a part that he didn’t have, and he was curious.

“Ready,”

But now was the time to focus on work.

“Action!”

Kirk Lawrence was a person who did his job diligently.

***

The next shoot was a bust shot of the same scene.

That’s why the camera and lighting equipment were installed in the bus that was cut in half.

“We’re setting up the chroma key!”

There was a green chroma key there.

‘The Volume’, the large screen that surrounded the set, made the background outside the bus, but to make the battle between ‘William’s Shadow, Jay’ and ‘The Villain’s Green Liquid’ with CG, a small chroma key was necessary.

While the set was being prepared, the actors were sitting on chairs prepared a little away from the set, waiting for the work to finish.

Kirk Lawrence was one of them.

He sat on the chair and watched the staff busy moving around. If it was a scene with a lot of lines, he would have looked at the script, but there was no need to look at it since the only line was ‘…YOU…!’

His eyes naturally turned to the side.

He saw Seo-jun talking with the extra actors who were sitting together. Evan Block’s words, ‘He likes actors’, seemed to apply to the extra actors as well.

“Wouldn’t it be better to show more emotion there? If you listen to the description of the character…”

Some of the extra actors who came to greet the superstar Seo-jun, soon found themselves in ‘Actor Seo-jun’s Acting Class’.

“Oh. I see.”

“Lee! I’m also in an independent film this time…”

“Really? What’s the title? I’ll definitely watch it when it comes out.”

The teacher and the students who were learning had sparkling eyes and smiles on their lips. Even the other extras who had no interest in him, and Kirk Lawrence, who was listening in, were drawn to his words.

‘What’s so fun about it?’

Kirk Lawrence couldn’t hide his curious gaze.

Kirk Lawrence, 37 years old.

He became an actor seven years ago.

He didn’t have any particular desire to be an actor. He was just working as a waiter as usual, when a movie crew that came to shoot at a nearby restaurant urgently needed an extra. He ended up standing in front of the camera by chance, and that was the beginning.

He looked good on camera and acted well enough to get an okay sign soon.

He thought it was over, but thanks to the recommendation of that director, he got to appear in another director’s movie, and he started to get one or two lines of dialogue. And as time went by, he got to where he was now.

If someone asked him why he kept filming,

‘It’s because of the money.’

He earned much more than a restaurant waiter.

He didn’t want a lot of money, either. He had the same level of ambition as the average person who would write ‘because you pay well’ as their motivation for applying for a job on their resume.

So he didn’t think about changing his image or trying a new character role. He had no passion for acting, either. He just dug one well.

He kept acting the same type of characters, and he became good at playing those characters without learning anything.

‘To think I got this far…’

He never dreamed of appearing as a villain in [Shadow and Knight].

Anyway.

That’s why he was more curious about Seo Jun Lee.

He had been debuting for almost 20 years now. He must have been bored of it if he had been doing it since he was young, but anyone could see that he was still passionate.

“We’re starting the shoot!”

He was amazed by the expression of Seo Jun Lee, who was happy at that shout.

Throughout the filming with Seo Jun, he thought that he was a different species from himself.

***

“/…Wow. That’s crazy…/”

“It’s huge!”

[Over the Rainbow 2], which didn’t need much of a set, was Choi Tae Woo’s first Hollywood shoot, and even Seo Jun, who was used to the scale of the Marines, exclaimed in admiration.

Jonathan, the director, and Matthew, the assistant director, smiled at the sight of them.

“The art team worked hard.”

The new set of [Shadow and Knight].

Part of the lower part of a huge and old ship was moved into the studio.

Trash and boxes were scattered everywhere. And the rusty iron plates, which were like a wrecked ship, were bent and looked like they would have holes any minute.

“Of course, there’s no problem with safety.”

Matthew, the assistant director, answered before Choi Tae Woo, the manager, raised his hand to ask a question.

“They’re all heavy and sharp-looking props, but they’re made of materials that won’t hurt you if you bump into them. Of course, except for a few props, they’re all fixed, so you won’t bump into them anyway.”

He was used to the ‘very thorough’ manager for the actor’s safety, and he answered quickly as if he had prepared in advance. Choi Tae Woo, who had widened his eyes, nodded in relief.

Seo Jun and Jonathan, the director, smiled at the sight of them.

“But what’s that machine next to the ship? Is it for fixing it?”

There was a machine that seemed to be fixed on both sides of the ship. He felt like he had seen something similar somewhere.

“Heh. Just a moment.”

Jonathan, the director, who had a brief conversation with the staff, signaled, and soon the machine started to move with a small sound.

“…Oh!”

Seo Jun and Choi Tae Woo widened their eyes again.

The machines installed on both sides of the ship started to move sideways. The irregular movement was like a ship rocking on the waves.

Ah.

He wondered where he had seen it, and it was similar to the machine that shook the set when they filmed [Survivors].

“It would be more realistic if we used this in the battle scene.”

“Right?”

Jonathan, the director, smiled at Seo Jun’s words.

“I tried it on the battle scene on the ship, and it was really good. It added to the realism.”

He must have been talking about the battle scene between Shadowman and the villain, which Seo Jun filmed on his day off.

“And this water comes in, too. Look at this.”

“Wow!”

Jonathan, the director, who was excitedly explaining the set like a child showing off his new toy, and Seo Jun, who was looking around the set with sparkling eyes, matched each other.

“Hmm.”

Kirk Lawrence, who had come to work (he came earlier than Seo Jun because of the makeup), couldn’t understand the scene. It was amazing, but it was just a set. …Was it something to be so excited about?

Seo Jun and Jonathan, the director, who were excited, and Kirk Lawrence, who was looking at them with an incomprehensible expression, were watched by Evan Block, who chuckled.

A little later.

While Evan Block, Kirk Lawrence, and stuntman Kim Jae Yeon were rehearsing, Seo Jun appeared on the set after finishing his makeup. The shooting preparation soon began.

“How are you, Jun? Are you hurt anywhere?”

“No. I’m fine.”

The staff tied Seo Jun, who was supposed to be wrapped in the villain’s tentacles and hung from the ceiling in the movie, to the ceiling with ropes.

There was an air mat below, and the ropes were sturdy, and a wire safety device was connected to his waist, so there was no problem.

“It’s my first time hanging in the air like this…”

Of course, in this life.

In some previous life, he had spread his wings and flown in the sky.

He had no fear of heights at all (it wasn’t that high, either). Seo Jun moved his body lightly. His whole body shook from side to side.

Swing, swing.

He felt like a bead of a pendulum or a pendulum of a cuckoo clock.

“/Seo Jun! Don’t shake too much!/”

“Ahahaha.”

Seo Jun laughed at Choi Tae Woo’s startled shout.

“Except for being too bright, he looks like a prince who was kidnapped by a villain.”

“Haha. Jin Natra is a prince, after all.”

Evan Block’s words made Kim Jae Yeon, who was going to film some action scenes instead of Kirk Lawrence today, nod his head with a smile.

“We’re starting the shoot!”

With Seo Jun hanging in the air, the shooting began.

“Ready, action!”
