Jenny looked at the giant squid that squirmed in the net. "This thing can feed hundreds of people alone."

When they checked the boats they could see one boat strangely shaking. Just then they realized it was a fishing boat that had its nets still open in the sea. As she asked them to pull it up as she was curious, they found straight away giant squid.

But as they pulled more, they found more sea creatures that hot caught up in nets. Strangely, they never tried to get out. They were so big they could have dragged the whole boat deep into water and escape.

"We need to check them on the zombie virus. There is something weird about it. How comes they are so motionless."

"I could see many fishes that swam slowly or in daze nearby. I think they were electrocuted by something." One of the workers pointed at a group of fishes nearby.

Jenny nodded. "Then let's use the equipment in the halls. Mike, let's capture all of these. Check each of the creatures on the virus. If they just evolved we can eat them. But if they have a virus we will just throw them away. I still think they just evolved.''

Luckily between newcomers were a couple of doctors and few medicinal technicians that will be very useful in this case. And there is that lab that they found in one of the buildings. This time, she planned to take the whole lab back. But looking at the current situation, maybe they should first check everything out.

Suddenly an idea came to her mind. ''Those grains. Maybe we could check them out as well. I can get out the line and gather a few strands to see is it possible.''

Mike came closer and started poking her head. ''No dangerous things! Do you think you are immortal? Stay put, one of my people will do that faster than you.''

She just rolled her eyes at him. ''I just say. You know we need to check the vegetables outside, the fruits as well. If they have better value than old strands we can have one side of the city planted with them as well. We need to think about the future.''

Mike sighed and then put his hand over her head. ''Jenny, I know you care, but too much care is not good as well. Stop worrying so much. Please.''

He understood her good intentions, but her pale complexion started worrying him already for a while. ''After we are done with gatherings tuff next few days lets rest for one day. I think we deserve it.''

Most people would think they just wanted to lase around, but those that had powers knew how exhausting this whole ordeal was. If they knew that all the shielding work was on her back the whole time, they would wonder about how strong her power actually is.

Jenny pouted lightly and mumbled lowly enough only for him to hear. ''I didn't want to go out in the first place...''

He chuckled and neared her ears. ''I know. How is your power intake? Do the power stones help you at least a little bit?''

She nodded. The gathered whole room filled with power stones from dead zombies. And protected it with their life as that was what she needed every time she felt faint. Then Mike and Mina would then come near her and help her regain the power as they held her hands and inside each hand, there was power stone.

It would literally dissolve completely into her system and she could regain power and spread her shield to become even stronger. But lately, she could feel changes in her system. It seems that she will grow her power again soon. She needs to tell Mike.

''Mina, Mike, can the two of you come with me tonight? I need to tell you something.'' She asked them with a whisper and they just nodded.

Of course, everyone was curious about what they spoke but no one asked. If they wanted to let everyone know, they wouldn't have whispered in the first place, right?

Jack looked at the three people whispering and sighed. No matter what, these three can't be without each other. He must protect them. As long as these three stay safe, everyone is safe as well.

Actually, everyone had the same thoughts. They all felt that all this protection came from these three people so they all felt a sense of overprotectiveness as well.

The fishes they pulled out were as big as tunas but actually were simple small fishes. Wait, if these are big, what happened then to tunas? No what about sharks and whales?

But the ocean is big... right???

Thinking how big the rest of the creatures might become she suddenly shook. Yes, humans are literally like ants now. She needs to become stronger. If these things are bigger than many other things will change as well.

Suddenly warm hands enveloped her and she stared ta Mina in astonishment. ''What is it?''

''You. Because your eyes again became like before for a short amount of time. The time when you felt too serious. Jenny, let others help us help them. We are not superhumans, well we are a bit, but you can't save everyone. Please stop overthinking things or you will get exhausted. Soon we will take a vacation and you can rest for a long time. I won't let you worry like before. Now you have a safe place. Home on your own. People that care about you. Why...'' Mina's face was filled with worry.

Jenny patted her hand and turned around to hug her. ''Mina, you are my best friend and family.'' Then she turned her eyes towards the rest of the people and glanced at people rushing around and smiled. ''I have no people I want to protect. We are just a handful left. I won't let anyone harm you. No matter human or something even more terrifying. Mina, the world changed. And yes, I do worry. But because now I really want to keep everyone alive. Safe. Happy. Is that wrong?''

Mina sighed and hugged her tighter while the two girls had tears in their eyes. Mike just coughed and turned around and started giving instructions while the two women looked at the open sea and slot descending sun.

Jenny sighed. ''Let's stay tonight here. I want to check anything. Send trucks back home. it's time.''

Mike just nodded and looked at the sea. ''The night will not be calm.'' And he was right.
