Surviving Zombies One Day At Time

Chapter 63 - 63. Mine, all mine...

As she watched them with a smile, Jacob came and held her hand. "Mother, I promise to be a good son. You don't have to worry to be ever alone."

Jenny looked at him in wonder. "What are you talking about?"

He pointed at the two elders that slowly walked and she chuckled. "Son, I just found their love quite amazing. But I don't feel lonely. I have you, Kala, Steven and now Meira. When do I have time to become lonely?"

Jacob started laughing. "We won't let you feel lonely. By the way, Meira sleeps."

Jenny's face became serious. "Let her. She wasted precious energy. Let her sleep until we don't find a source of blood and give her the first potion. She deserves it."

Just as they planned to ho to RV, the chief of the place came rushing to her and sighed. "I went to give them all their accommodations. Please let me buy a few things as well."

She then realized he was really gone to check the buildings with a group of his people. She turned screens for them and mentioned the senior pair. "Could you give them safe housing? They are older. Give them a lower level but from the lighter side. They can't walk ten levels up. Or a house on their own."

He shook his head. "All houses are gone. But, no one wants lower levels. Good, I'll give them the whole level for them only in my building. No one will dare to bother them. Or touch their plants. Don't worry."

He understood her worry and gained a big smile from her. "Find a satellite phone and I'll leave you my number and my city number. The King of Save Heaven City is a good man. After some time he will be able to make a trading route for everyone. I cleaned the street up to here. Your duty is to clean your city and surroundings from leftover zombies so you can all live safely."

He could hear the concern in her voice and smile. "I'll do so. What is his name?"

"Mike. Tell him... wait, I'll call him. How do you plan to name your settlement?" She used the satellite phone and called the office. It was still not late so they are in the office surely.

"New Hope. Yes, we will call ourselves New Hope Village." They had not enough people to call themselves a city. "My name... Ian..."

Jenny just nodded as he spoke. From the other side, a happy voice could be heard. "Jenny!"

"Mike, calm down. And stop screaming. I'm in The C city right now. Unfortunately, not many survivors are left. Some of them chose to stay and I gave a shield for them. Ian, the head of New Hope Village will contact you later." She spoke in a rush as she could see the battery on the phone being low. "Need to recharge this thing. Later when I settle down I'll call you. Take the satellite phone with your home. And do not dare to overwork yourself."

"Hey, sister you are worse than Mina. Fine. Going home soon. She will be happy to hear from you. Call later." His voice softened.

"I will. Later." Just then the phone lost the rest of the energy and she chuckled. "Oh well."

Ian saw her just waving her hand at him and in wonder saw everyone getting on the car, as she entered her RV. She opened her window and smiled at her. "Don't worry. Nothing can penetrate the shield. Except for humans. So be warier about people, than about monsters. OK?"

He just nodded and saw her smiling face as she closed the window. Jenny smiled as she murmured. "Village? I'll give you a city if you learn how to handle people. Let's go now."

Coming yo the highway they realized that there were seriously too many cars. Jenny sighed. She stopped the RV, climbed on one of the trucks and looked at the long line of scrambled cars in front of them.

Luckily trucks were driving to the left side so it won't be a problem pushing cars away. She concentrated and just spread her shield to push one big truck away that was standing square on the highway.

Few people came out and walked to her. "Can we help in any way?"

Among them were the five young men that were looking like they were ready to do anything she said. She just st shook her head and pointed at ten or so tracks. "Gather gasoline and food. You can exchange it later in the city."

But the young men suddenly had a better idea and checked the trucks. Most of them had full tanks. "Can't we just take them with us?"

Jenny shrugged. "Sure. But chose wisely. Look what is inside trucks and first share with others. On our way, we might find more food trucks. Then take them. OK?"

They happily nodded. "Yes. Well, we will do that."

Jenny looked at the sky and sighed. "Let's camp here. It will take time until everyone gets enough stuff. We can sleep here. Don't worry about zombies or stuff, I covered everyone with a shield. As long they don't leave the shield, they are safe. Let them know."

She pushed the button and her RV became bigger on sides and so did Stevens parents do. Everyone heard that they will stop and sleep here, so they came out and started searching for cars and trucks for food and gasoline

Just as Jenny wanted to cook something, she heard an argument outside. With a sigh, she came out and yelled. "What is it now? Can't you handle things calmly?"

One of the young men came running to her and rubbed his head. "We found there a full truck with instant noodles and wanted to share evenly, but one of the guys proclaimed it as his own. He is standing there with a gun and threatening us."

She just rolled her eyes and walked forward. A man with long, dirty hair stood there with a gun and pointed at the pale-looking man that stubbornly shook his head.

"I said is mine, then its mine. Now move!" He waved with a gan at his face but saw him refusing to move.

"Boss said we have to share all the food now and later we can all take trucks on our way as our own. People are hungry, everyone became eds dome food."

"I said its mine." He pushed the young man aside and wanted to close the big doors when he heard an icy voice.

"If we want to talk whose it is, I have first right to proclaim all the food on our way as my own. So its mine. And if I say we share, that means we SHARE!" Jenny came closer and pushed him away. Then she looked at the pale looking guy and patted his shoulder.

"I need your names, I can't call you ''hey you''." She waved her hand and looked closely at them and realized why they were all together. Siblings or related to each other.

Red hair in different shades, blue eyes, freckles all over the face and lean bodies. But they had honest expressions and knew she could trust them.

"We are Roy, Alex, Clarence, Florian and Stuart. Our family's name is Green." They smiled at her brightly and she realized they all had pretty, straight, white teeth. Nice.

"I won't be able to remember your names right away. I'll just call you Green until I don't get who is who. I'm seriously bad with names." She was not really, but they just looked too similar.

They just agreed on it. It is not the first time for them to have such a situation.

She pointed at the truck and then at the people. "Count how many people came. Each gets the same amount. I'm going to cook something. Everyone share evenly and if I hear such ridiculous argument again I'll just let you outside shield. Trust me, then you are on your own."

They all shuddered. Actually, since they stopped, zombies started appearing from everywhere and only the shield is protecting them. If she gets angry they will be eaten alive.

Looking at the growling faces but not hearing them meant that Jenny wanted to have some peace. So they calmly unpacked the few trucks and filled their vehicles. Some found bigger cars and few happily found RV's as well.

One of the RV's was driven by the Green brothers. They all chose to move cars by hand as a side so they could re-park their new vehicles. Only two young women chose to keep their Jeep.

They came out armed with guns they bought in Jenny's store and started shooting. Jenny turned automatic gathering option so the people could gather their own stones alone.

She stood outside and nodded. "Well done. Smart girls."

Actually no one dated to come near them as they always worked together. From all the people, these two had most of the privately gathered stones.

Zombies were moving to that place as they heard loud sounds and more and more of them started going their way. No one dared to go to their position and Jenny spread the shield do much that they could slowly climb the growing mountain of bodies.

One if they gratefully winked at her and then continued to shoot.

Jenny was curious. These two are interesting.
