Sweet Surrender: The CEO's Second Wife

John and Catherine were inspecting the house and lot they bought for Caroline, the house was fully equipped with brand new appliances and expensive furniture. There's also a brand new car in the garage waiting for its owner.

"Do you think your sister will like the house?" John asked his wife.

"I dunno about my sister but if you ask me, I like the house and everything that comes with it, for me it's perfect already," Catherine commented.

John smiled at his wife. "Really—? Do you like the house? Just say it I will buy you a new house in a subdivision that's still on its first phase of construction, just a two hours drive from the Infinity Jade Tower," he offered.

Catherine looked at his husband grinning. "So buy me one then—?" she jokingly said, challenging him.

"Okay wifey, I will have Romeo get a brochure so that you can choose which type of house you want me to buy for you," John added.

Catherine walked toward her husband and kissed his lips. "Hey, I'm just joking. The Jade tower is enough for me, you don't have to buy a new house for us," she earnestly said.

"Okay as you say so," John hugged his wife. "How about the car, do you think Caroline will like the color and brand of the car which I bought for her?"

Catherine looked at her husband. "Hubby, don't worry much if Caroline will like the house and the car or not. As you can see, I and my sister are very much used to the hard life, we grow up in a poor family in the province...remember? All these luxury will be too much for her, I'm sure she will definitely like this house that's look perfect for me already. But just in case she won't like everything that we bought and chose for her, don't worry, I will slap her ten times so that she will wake up from her fantasy and face reality and refrain from playing like a high and mighty princess," she blurted out, something flashes in her eyes and was gone in sixty seconds.

John watched the anger flashes on her wife's face for a brief second, he sighed a bit. He was wondering what's gonna happen when the sisters met? He was hoping there will be no World War 3 going on between the sisters 'coz they have not talked even once~since Catherine had come back from captivity. Caroline refused to do a video chat with her sister, and Catherine has yet to confront her sister about Caroline's l.e.w.d intention to seduce him. For a while, he was not thinking about those things because his sister-in-law was residing in another country, but now that she's coming back in their lives—the ugly head of the past will surely hunt them all.

"Cath, what's gonna happen if you and Caroline will come face to face?" John asked apprehensively. "Are you still angry at your sister—?"

Catherine gritted her teeth in response.

"Fireworks will fly for sure! As much as I wanted to forget everything that happens, but, some things won't let go unless I can't talk to her face to face. I need closure, my sister and I need closure. We just can't act as nothing happens. I still want to give her a face slap a few times just to sate my anger, that's my way of reconciling with her," Catherine stated.

John finally saw the hidden hatred now resurfacing in Catherine's face. Her wife may look happy and radiant on the outside but deep inside she was still harboring negative feelings towards her sister. He was just hoping that after the two ladies see each other and settled their differences they can be close again and forget their grievances to each other. Too much negativity, hatred, and anger can only make people's relationship deteriorates, he learned it the hard way based on what happened to him and his late brother, Joseph.

John embraced his wife. "Cath, promise me that no matter what happens between you and your sister it won't affect us? Okay—?"

Catherine looked into her husband's eyes. "I promised to you that no matter what my sister is going to say to me, it won't affect our relationship," she concluded.

"Thank you, wifey, I don't want any more drama and misunderstanding between us, we've been through a lot—it's about time we will enjoy what we have right now. Let's leave the past behind, okay?" John planted a gentle kiss on his wife's forehead.

"Don't worry, my sister did something wrong way back, she has to know her place so that she won't attempt to do something stupid again in the future. No matter what— she's still my sister and you are my husband, I will try to keep an open mind when it comes to the unpleasant situation in which we are all involved with," she breathed deeply.

John hugged her wife. "Okay— enough of that topic, let's go upstairs so that you can inspect the rooms. There are three bedrooms on the second floor, each room had their bathrooms."

The couple climbs the stairs and inspected the three bedrooms upstairs, there was also a nice terrace with one table and two cozy chairs.

The couple sits down on the chair and stays there for a few moments admiring the view of the nice sleepy neighborhood.

Catherine grows quiet staring at the garden in front of the house. Her twin sister Caroline achieved something epic which she did not expect in the first place. Who would even think that a poor girl from a province could one day own a house and lot and a brand new car in her name with one hundred thousand pesos monthly allowance top-up. Her sister already paid the heavy price in advance for all these properties, she could very well say that all these luxury she had seen today—her sister paid with her life and her body. Fair enough, in this world that not everyone has been given a chance to rise from poverty her sister's sudden fortune and good luck were so unexpected. She was wondering if all these can satisfy her sister? But she was hoping it will tame her sister's thirst for wealth and fortune. She was aware that her sister was envious of her marrying a wealthy guy like John. Now that Caroline almost got everything she needed in life, hope, she will be satisfied and won't be clamoring for more.

But why is it that she has a feeling that Caroline won't be satisfied with all these? Hope she is wrong.
