Sword Monarch

Han arrived at the Tianya Mountain Range.

It was night time by the time he reach the forest that was within the mountain range.

There was no light, it was pitch black. Scary sounds like the wind blowing in the background and the occasional howling of wolves would sound out, chilling a person to their bones. It was creepy and eerie.

Han could be considered a brave kid, but he still felt some fear nonetheless. He could not help but think that a reaper would appear behind him and swing its scythe down at his neck to end his life before dragging it down to the underworld.

It is dark now, its better for me to set camp and wait till day breaks.

Han decided.

He walked to a huge tree and sat underneath it, trying to weaken the sound of his breathing, afraid to attract anything ghostly that was lurking in the darkness.

Saaa...

It was eerily silent, only the slight rustlings of leaves that were being blown about could be heard.

A pair of eyes that had a red glint to it was staring at the unaware young boy that was about to fall asleep.

Ba-dum Ba-dum

Han's eyes which were drooping suddenly snapped wide open, his heart raced all of a sudden and uneasiness took over him.

Han tried to strain his ears and looked around him.

With his 6th stage Qi Refining body working at its maximum capacity, Han managed to catch onto a low growl and heavy breathing that belonged to a creature that was hiding somewhere.

It was near.

Han pulled out his sword, his grip tightening around the handle.

Whatever you are, if you dare come, I will kill you!

The creature which had been hiding and observing its prey began to move.

Its hunting time.

All demonic beasts had a certain amount of intelligence, they were ordinary beasts who had managed to break free of their mortal shackles and transcended into a higher being, evolving into a demonic being. After observing Han for awhile, it came to a conclusion that this was a free dinner.

No one would refuse free delicious food.

It began to enter into a crouching position and moved forward slowly, step by step. When it determined that it was close enough, its blood flow increased, hind legs muscles tightened and suddenly, it pounced forward fiercely.

BAM!

Han was thrown onto the tree after being clawed at by the creature, the clothes on his back were ripped and claw wounds were visible, blood started flowing. As the creature smelled blood, it became excited and saliva started dripping uncontrollably from its maw.

'Ding, host has managed to unlock the mini map mode. The system will now prepare to install and implement it into the host's conscious.'

A wave of notifications came up, but Han was in no mood to care about them. He was strewn across the floor like a dead mutt, suffering in pain and struggling to get up to his feet.

As the creature slowly strode forward, under the moonlight, its appearance was finally revealed.

It was as big as 2 cows, with a horse-like tail, four rugged and powerful legs, razor sharp claws and had teeth which seemed like it could shred anything apart, it looked like a panther from the front.

As Han slowly rose to his feet and had a good look at the panther, a stream of information slowly lodged itself into his brain.

'Moonshadow panther : A nocturnal creature which prefers to hunt its prey at night. It has a bloodthirsty nature and is very savage. During a full moon, the capabilities that it can unleash will be multiplied by two fold of its original abilities.'

Han didn't care what creature it was, he was enraged.

All he wanted to do and care about was to slay the damnable creature in front of him.

He was not only enraged, he was scared. It was the first time in his life coming across such a dangerous situation. He know that this world follow a natural law.

'The strong preys on the weak'

But he had never considered it deeply, where he had to come across such dangers just to become strong.

Naive.

Was what he felt about himself right now, he felt that all his previous thoughts about the world were laughable.

His eyes gradually became bloodshot.

He took a step backwards, picked up his sword and entered a battle ready position.
