Talents Beyond Talents

Chapter 2 - I can make things fly! (Part 1)

"Wake up! It's time to go to school!"

"Ah~"

Red sighed as she rolled over.

(Why does the paper have to be so early...)

She quietly sat up, then slowly made her way to the already lit dining room.

"Morning~"

"Good morning."

Red slumped over at the desk, before nibbling into the bun.

"Have you packed everything? Pen, pencil, ruler..."

Red nodded without really listening. After all, this wasn't her first paper and so she doubted that she would've left something at home.

After finishing her meal, she made her way to school, dragging her feet along the way.

---

"Hi Red!"

"Hi~"

Red greeted in the cutest manner she could muster. She was used to acting cute in front of her friends, and she was currently talking to her best friend, Ying Ze, outside the exam hall where the shelves were put for them to place their bags.

"So, did you actually finish studying?"

"Uh... haha..."

"Come on, it's the FINALS, could you treat this any more seriously?"

"Ahaha..."

Red blushed, embarrassed. Her friend always cared so much for her, but she frequently didn't listen.

Ying Ze sighed and began picking up his writing materials and his calculator, preparing to enter the exam hall.

Red, still flushed from just reaching school, fumbled with her bag in a hurry.

(I still need to go use the restroom so that I don't waste time in the exam)

(Um... calculator... where are you...)

Suddenly, her hand slipped, causing her bag to fall off the shelf she had just put it on.

(Oh no!)

She gasped as she saw her only calculator fall out of her bag onto the ground.

(Please stop!)

She squeezed her eyes shut as she prepared to hear the crack of the fragile plastic falling on the concrete floor.

(What?)

She felt as if something were in her hand, despite knowing that she couldn't have caught it.

Opening her eyes, she saw the calculator floating.
