Talents Beyond Talents

Chapter 6 - The world as you knew it

"Okay, then how long have I been asleep?"

"It's about 8 in the morning now, so a little over 9 hours."

"Wait doesn't that mean I'm late for school?!"

"You don't go to school..."

Shadow looked at her dubiously.

"But-"

Red bit her tongue. She didn't know how Shadow would react if she mentioned what happened, so she decided to ignore it. Shaking her head, Red wanted to ask something else when a growling sound resounded in the room.

Shadow giggled as she gazed lovingly at Red.

"I'll prepare breakfast for you."

Shadow said, as she excused herself.

Red, now all alone in the room, began doubting herself while also feeling vaguely lightheaded off of all the confusion going on around her. Reaching into her pocket for her phone, she was surprised to find that it was still there, and it was still her phone. She quickly accessed a map application and found that she was nearby her school, and then quickly checked her messages.

(What?)

She looked through all her chat groups and found that she was not in any.

(Oh no...)

A worry arose in her heart.

She tried dialing her family and friends and even any acquaintances, but to no avail.

She was cut off from the people she knew.

Desperate, she tried calling the police, but the sound of footsteps sent Red into a panic and she quickly hid her phone back into her pocket. If she was going to get out of this alive, she would need to have it with her.

(Though it could have been tampered with, blocking my phone services and also tracking me, but I can check that later)

"Your favorite, fried bee hoon for breakfast."

Red looked at it curiously. She didn't know how Shadow knew, but it really WAS her favorite. The scent was heavenly, and when she picked up the chopsticks to eat the bee hoon, she realized it was very flavorful and was cooked really well.

She began to wonder what was going on.

Whether whatever she had experienced was a dream, and this was reality.

"Are you okay?"

Shadow asked again, concern displayed clearly on her features.

Red realized her expression had been quite obvious how confused and tense she was.

Out of the blue, a well-dressed man in a white suit waltzed into the room.

He had piercing green eyes and orange locks.

"So this is the talent I've been told about... " His eyes narrowed as he looked her once over.
