Tales Of Pristinia

Chapter 28 - Leviuqse (1)

After stuffing ourselves with fruits from the trees of the mystic marsh, we continued on our way to Leviuqse. The sun was starting to fall out of the sky and the further we pressed onward the faster the sun seems to set.

"We are almost at Leviuqse, I feel it," Drey pressed on forward.

"If that is what you say, then let us go on forward," Marze followed him.

I silently continued on. All I have been seeing for the past few days were trees and marsh, trees and marsh, trees and marsh in a never ending cycle. The temple was the only thing that broke that cycle. And now the cycle is back and the only thing that is keeping us from seeing Leviuqse is the barrage and density of trees.

"Don't you have roads here?" I asked.

"We don't," Drey answered. "Faries usually travelling through flying and I haven't been outside the capital much so I haven't really travelled to other places that much."

"Do elves build roads?" Marze asked.

"No we don't," I replied. "But the path we take are marked so we don't really much get lost."

"How do you know we are on the right direction Drey, if you haven't travelled that much?" I asked.

"I memorized the Aenian map. When I am going to be king, I'm going to make sure that my people even in the edgest part of my kingdom will share the bounties of the fairies."

"You'll make a fine king," Marze praised him.

"You will be Drey," I accoladed too.

"Thanks, let us just keep going for now."

And so we hastened our pace only to find more trees and marsh. The sun was setting down as quickly as it could. I didn't feel any fatigue from our exploration, much less I slept most of the way. After a barrage of trees and marsh, we found more trees and marsh on the way. And after trees and marsh, trees and marsh soon came after. Like a never ending cycle, the mystic marsh kept us like prisoners. Now the time came when I felt like we were lost.

"Are you sure we are going in the right direction?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm certain."

"We haven't reached Leviuqse yet, shouldn't we stop for the meantime and reconnaissance?"

"Don't worry Lance, I know where we are going."

"But we all have been seeing are trees and marsh, trees and marsh for the last few hours."

"Trust me on this one!" He turned to me.

"I trust you completely Drey," Marze continued onward and patted my shoulder.

"Okay," I followed. "I trust you, let's keep going on for now."

With doubt in my heart but trust for my friend, I pushed on. It was dusk, the sun was about to set.

"Guys," Drey suddenly stopped. "I think we're lost. I'm...I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about it Drey," Marze said. "I would rather trust and regret than doubt and regret."

"I'm sorry Lance!" He turned to me.

"Look," I patted his shoulder. "We've come all this far because of you. It is thanks to you that we are able to push this far in Aenia. There is no need for you to apologize, instead I should be the one who needs to say sorry."

"Don't worry Drey, as long as we're together we will overcome this adversary," Marze reassured him.

Suddenly I heard a shout of joy coming from a distance. Elven hearing is sharper than any other races' except for some demi-humans and vampires.

"Guys do you hear that?" I said to them.

"Hear what?" Drey replied.

"It sounds like people rejoicing," I answered.

"Are you sure you are still sane, Lance?" Marze tapped my back.

"I'm sure I'm not imagining things, I hear it!"

Then the night came and from a distance we saw lights thay glowed from a distance, behind the trees and beyond the marsh. It was Leviuqse!
