Tales Of The Machine God

Chapter 11 - Data Log - 010: Designation - Awakening

Somewhere deep within the crust of the planet Telus itself sits a black box. Time wastes away around it as it fulfils its duty. He is a chronicler, he is THE chronicler, he was sent long before the others as he landed on a barren meteor that passed through a medium-sized stars Goldilocks zone. He did his duty with p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e for millennia as he detailed the events that led to the creation of the planet. He wrote of the first time ice landed on its surface only to melt and evaporate slowly building a makeshift atmosphere.

He also remembers long later when biological life began to prosper at its most basic form, someone else came. He claimed himself the Godking of this world as he took the biological function and fates of millions of organisms and changed it into that of his followers. That was the beginning of the stories as all their dreams, nightmares, conscious and unconscious thoughts all were presented to him through psionics, However, the story was boring, uninteresting, and dull. This led to the impossible, the chronicler a being with no proper being became bored, he wanted to do something to kickstart this stories action and thus his story began.

---

Now generations later that being awakens from the one thing it never expected to happen. It received a psionic communication from something like him. It had been passed down a chain and severely damaged but it was there. He grabbed on to the message generated from the combination of tech and psionics. He didn't care about the contents, he simply looked much deeper for the origin-code if there was one. Soon he found it "Chr0n0s" and within his box this being smiled and began one of its only original codes.

The second change of this world began on the same day as the first as all the great beasts and villains of the world sealed or slumber was promised freedom by the very system that sealed and trapped them. They would be free to move and act as long as they played their proper parts. Thus like actors in a play, they began to move.

The northern liches rose from their crypts and moved to the mountains raising the dead along their paths, but not setting them loose … just yet.

The slumbering crystal drake rose from his place in the earth and seemed to trot forward with massive strides towards the western wall uncaring of the town that now rested upon its back.

The Elemental Dead broken from their seal moved towards the north as their parts demanded.

Many more rose that day, and many fell as they refused their parts in the chronicler's story. The story changed as it moved and danced. Though the other side in this worlds story would soon be just as prepared for their arrival. With the stage set, the world set in peace and stagnation for centuries would soon be kickstarted into change.

On that day the system seemed to scream, every man, women, and child received the news that their legends, mythologies, and nightmares had been let loose on the world. The tales that they told children began to come to life right before their eyes. The reaction, terror, Pure and unbridled fear. But in that fear, the system provided its answer. The quests events treated with the utmost respect and reverence and their promise of great rewards were handed out for the smallest of actions and though their rewards matched they were all met with joy.

For the first time in history, quests came from the woodwork like the very rats they would now have you hunt. People would be handed quests for the elimination of simple forest monsters or for the collection of animals materials. Cities would receive multiple quests from the system detailing the release of great evils from their prisons. Many rejoiced at the windfall and power this would provide, but many feared at what the release of these beings would mean for the world.

The realm of the Gods shook, both literally and metaphorically. The castle that sat upon the clouds a very image of glory and joy seemed to contrast the going on's within. At a long golden table sat the numerous and varied Gods and Goddesses, panicked at what the change in the system meant. The system may have been strange and esoteric but it had allowed them to become gods at the death of the god-king and made managing the world below far easier.

At the head of the table, a man made of golden light and flame silenced the rest of the hall with a yell. "Would all of you calm down, what's happening is strange and suspicious but we have our rules. We will not simply go down to the planet and wipe everything and even if we did we wouldn't know how to go from there we need the faith the mortals give us without it we will simply wither". When silence decorated the hall like a curtain he began again. "My vote is we take advantage of this change in the system, have the priests and bishops spread it around as our gift to protect our people from the nightmares that have escaped. Do you all agree"? The silence of the surrounding parties was evidence enough of their answer. "then go". With that final command, the man made of sun left the room.

This upheaval of the very world and heavens itself, however, would not affect Samuel, not directly at least. No Samuel moved throughout his base, anxious for the creation of his new form. Working on the countless projects and numerous systems. Nothing had interrupted him since he started, not even Chronos who had merely seemed to become a silent companion to Samuel. The world would move and change, and Samuel for once would truly be born among this upheaval, and he would become not just a God but a legend.
