Seeing this supposed Gods irritation with this moment caused me to seethe. Despite this though I kept a straight face, because of something he said. It seemed he was here to explain something, so I decided I would at least hear him out before I kicked him out. Though might as well do something useful while he drones on. So I mentally sent a question to Chronos.

Chronos is there a way to strengthen the firewall protecting this space.

Turning my attention back to Cantos I quickly asked the question that had appeared in my mind after his rude and sudden interruption. "So Cantos, what are you here to explain exactly and why should I care".

It would seem my lack of respect had caused the man to lose his stride. Though he seemed to quickly recompose himself before he started.

"It is my job to congratulate you and welcome you to the path of divinity. While many believe Gods to be an invincible existence the title of Godhood is merely a single step in the process."

After that monotone introduction to godhood was finished the man took a long breath before he continued.

"We as Gods are so powerful that even a small argument is capable of wiping out cities. Thus in order to protect those below us, we have instituted a system known as the Divine game. We Gods will not act in direct confrontation rather we will determine arguments through our churches and appointed ones."

Looking at the arrogant man in front of me explain this political game, caused me to lose interest very quickly. I really wanted to kick him out of the virtual environment, but I'll save that till I'm sure I'm safe. Might as well ask my questions before he continues with this drool.

"So Cantos what exactly is preventing one from being a sore loser and actually fighting, and would breaking past all my defences not register as an attack".

Once again his face shifted from its calm and collected expression to one of extreme annoyance before he nearly screamed out the next part. "No, I was not attacking you this time, though it would normally count as an attack capable of retaliation, however, the other Gods have agreed that in order to deliver the rules to you it was necessary. As for why no one goes wantonly killing Gods, that's because everyone has an agreed upon alliance to help each other in those situations".

His expression turned smug as he finished, it almost reminded me of someone. that question stuck itself at the back of my mind. It reminded me of someone, but I didn't have any memories. Thinking on the question hurt like a flaming rod being stuck to your brain and spine. Despite the pain I continued pushing on, the question was important somehow I could tell. Who was it, who does he remind me of.

As that thought entered my mind everything seemed to shift. Looking up I saw a chalkboard filled with scribbles of equations and formulas. Looking down at my hands I saw the rough and calloused hands filled with a collection of both electrical and normal burns. Suddenly the memories came rushing back, fragmented and incomplete but they were there.

Looking up to the board once again I was filled with the boredom that covered the class like a fog. He wanted to make something, he wanted to do something, a twitch that he couldn't deny. He needed to build something, and this class was supposed to help but it only fueled his d.e.s.i.r.e to actually do something more.

The shift back into reality was just as sudden as the dream had been. The man before him was still talking about the same useless drivel he was before. I had pretty much-gotten everything I needed from him, I would deal with him later once he wasn't threatening me with an army of similar level beings attacking me.

For now getting him out of here was all that mattered, after that It was time to deal with the new twitch that seemed to follow him out of the dream. "Well Cantos I must thank you for introducing me to all this, however, I do believe you have slightly overstayed your welcome". As I said this I told Chronos to expel the virus and watched as the man standing before me disappeared with a shocked expression on his face.

Now, who are you Samuel Kingswell, your me but at the same time I am not you? Looking over the memories he had just inherited showed bits and pieces of discovery and construction they all seemed to be completely different but they all had one thing in common. All the memories big or small filled Samuel with a burning d.e.s.i.r.e to create something.

A large white marble cathedral rose from the dusty grey bricks of the surrounding mountainside. Within one of the high ranking bishops of the church was running towards the central chambers. He quickly passed by many priests and clergy members moving at a speed that turned him into a blur to the human eye. He very quickly arrived at a door decorated with gold and silver filigree. Opening the door he ran towards the old man within.

"Arch-Bishop Alexander I have received a divine vision from one of the seven regarding the newly recognized God".

Hearing the announcement of the bishop the old man quickly rose and walked towards him. He then began to speak with a voice that seemed to flow like honey. "Which of the seven has made the announcement child of Meth".

Hearing the sing-song voice of the old man caused the bishop to lower his head before continuing. "Cantos has made the announcement, he declared that we are to attempt to limit the envoy's growth in the surrounding area, though he also said not to directly attack the being".

Hearing the young bishops voice the man frowned before dismissing him with a wave of his sleave. "It seems this new Godling has made a point of annoying the great seven, we must make preparations at once".
