Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 139 - Beginning Of The Conferred God Battle

"What will you do in those three years?" Rotias asked.

Expand my land, of course, while also keeping an eye on the Star God Realm... I might even reach the level of a God-Emperor in those years. The peak of the Divine King Realm should be enough and I am only eight stages away. Three years should also be enough for me to also make a few connections with the Royal-Rank Star Realms and grow strong enough to rule one. Once I have a King Realm in my grasp, my vassals will join with me to form an unstoppable force.

Then I'll just sweep through the entire Eastern Divine Region. The Eternal Heaven Pearl is rather unnecessary for me... not only would I lose three thousand years of my youth, but I would also potentially lose Jasmine. That is the reason why I made the Seventh Heaven Pearl... something that suits my needs far better.

"It is more time-efficient, I suppose, and you wouldn't reach the True God Realm even after three thousand years in there. Here... perhaps, even a hundred years would do." Rotias stated.

A hundred years... the True God Realm... I should use this place more often, in fact, I should use it as often as I can!

The next day, Robb made two consecutive breakthroughs and reached the very peak of the Divine Tribulation Realm while Izanami broke through into the Divine King Realm. Aerion didn't make any breakthroughs since he kept his Time Wheel Pearl.

The Conferred God Battle was due to begin today.

"You two go ahead." Aerion casually said.

"Why?" Robb inquired.

"It isn't anything important. Just go ahead."

"Alright, we will."

Aerion watched the doors close. He swiftly changed out of his Ice Phoenix Snow Robes and into something he much preferred. Emperor-worthy Targaryen robes! Black, red and some truly outstanding gold... it was perfect, in his most humble opinion.

This is what a Targaryen King should wear... after this God Conferred Battle, I'll have to visit the Blue Pole Star and deal with some things. Aurion should be about eight years and six months old by then which should be old enough to start cultivating... maybe he has already started. Perhaps, the God Realm would be more suitable to his needs... Blue Pole Star lacks in profound energy, after all.

Moving everyone into the God Realm... Huan Caiyi would definitely reject such a thing since her Demon Empire is so important. Hmph, the Demon Empire wouldn't die with her absence. The Heavenly Demon and her own subjects would ensure that. I'd also be able to keep everyone closer so that none of my enemies could just swoop into the Blue Pole Star and do as they wished to my loved ones. Killing them, holding them as hostages... there are many possibilities.

The Snow Song Realm... under my half-step Divine Extinction Master, who would dare to do so?

Aerion thought about it and finally decided.

Yes, I'll do just that. That would leave me with far fewer weaknesses and make things far more convenient for me overall. Daeron and Aurion will also be able to cultivate at a far greater rate and their potential won't be limited. My wives will also profit greatly in their cultivation and I'll have more time to spend with them.

It is a necessary precaution with many benefits... why wouldn't I go through with it?

Aerion left his room in the Snow Song Realm's chosen palace and flew towards the God Conferred Stage. His expression is as calm as the smoothest of waters as if nothing in this Profound God Convention could faze him... he was correct, mostly. He joined with the Snow Song Realm's crowd.

"Targaryen colours, eh? I wish I had a house of my own..." Robb sighed.

"That is definitely possible." Aerion smiled. "But it isn't necessary as you do not have any lands or descendants yet."

"Indeed, I need some lands first!"

"In three years, you'll have your pick out of many star realms," Aerion promised. "It's the least I could do for you. However, for now, you should focus on growing as strong as possible..."

Suddenly, the adjudication profound formation finally decided the first-round matchups. They were well presented all over the Eastern Divine Region through the star god tablets. Since the tournament follows a double-elimination format, no one would be eliminated today. However, the losers will be dropped to the losers bracket while the winners proceed to the next winners round. Aerion stared at the first round match-up and couldn't help but laugh.

This is... interesting.

Battle 1: Flame God Realm's [Huo Poyun]——VS—— Snow Song Realm's [Robb]

"Oh... I remember him on our visit to the Flame God Realm." Robb smiled. "Seventh Stage of the Divine Spirit Realm along with the Golden Crow's inheritance, he truly is a worthy opponent!"

"Can you win?" Aerion inquired.

"Of course, I've already mastered the first stage of my inheritance. I should be around the Eighth Stage with just that."

"Good."

After some time, Honourable Qu Hui called out for Robb and Huo Poyun to step onto the Conferred God Stage. An invisible barrier was placed on the stage which would prevent any stray profound energy from harming the spectators.

"The Conferred God Battle's first-round, first match… begin!"

These long tournaments do tend to bore me... but when such a prominent match-up is presented before me, how could I not spectate?

Aerion narrowed in on the two figures as the match finally began.

~

Flame God Realm's Huo Poyun... he was only a Divine Tribulation Realm profound practitioner the last time I met him. The ancient horned dragon's body must have assisted him in this dramatic growth, no matter... I'll still defeat him.

Not only for Aerion, Feixue or the Snow Song Realm... I'm doing this for myself as well!

He tightly grasped his spear with both hands as his eyes glared into Huo Poyun's. His eyes had already started to burn with the fire of battle... Huo Poyun, on the other hand, seemed slightly hesitant. He didn't expect Robb to be this fierce since, in their previous encounters, he seemed rather tame.

BANG.

Robb was first to strike, his long spear smashing against the Conferred God Stage. Huo Poyun managed to escape its blade. Golden flames started to concentrate and grow in his hands. Within moments, Poyun sent a Raging Fire Rupture his way.

"Hmph."

Mighty Wind Slash.

Both profound skills clashed against each other but none could come out as the clear victor, ending with an explosion. Poyun used this opportunity to get Robb within the range of his Flame God Devil Destroying Sword. He slashed at him several times but every slash was met with the shaft of Robb's spear.

Robb eventually found the opportunity to counterattack and he used it well. His spear stabbed Huo Poyun's knee, he g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain but it wasn't over yet. Robb brutally punched him the face with his right hand while his left held the spear. He continued to punch him until Huo Poyun used Golden Annihilation to scuttle away.

"My Lord always told me patience wins battles... it looks like he was right." Robb spat out some blood which had come as a result of the Golden Annihilation.

"You're stronger than I... thought."

The battle continued, in Robb's favour. He managed to keep his distance and attack him from the perfect range, very rarely did Huo Poyun get close enough to use his sword properly. So he relied on the Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World which Robb had countered with the Wind God's Art. Granted, the Golden Crow's flames were stronger so there were a few times where he had to take some serious damage.

However, his body had inhuman regeneration speed so this wasn't much of an issue. After a couple of minutes, Robb drew the match to a close with one final spear strike. Huo Poyun was forced into a state of unconsciousness and so, Robb was declared the victor.

"Huo Poyun has entered a state of unconsciousness and so, he has been defeated. He will enter the Losers Group. Robb wins, and will enter the Conferred Gods Group!"

Robb flew to Aerion's side. "How did I do?"

"You did well. When you asked for a spear... I found it rather strange but now I understand, it truly suits you perfectly."

"Hmm, I just couldn't pick up a sword ever since I was 'reborn'. The spear was the only weapon I felt comfortable with... honestly, I found it strange as well."

Rotias chuckled. "It's not strange at all, mortal, Naeron only used spears and so, as his avatar, you have gained some of his tendencies."

You know, he can't hear you, right?

"Hmph, whatever."

Speaking of legacies, are you ever going to give me yours?

"No... there's no point, you would grow stronger but I'd grow weaker. Besides, do you want to be corrupted by my darkness energy?"

I'd rather not.

"Speaking of my strength, when are you going to use it?"

Maybe when I put on the mask of Justice... I'd rather Aerion Targaryen not be known as some devil who should be killed on sight. You'll come into use during the climax of my conquest... when the benefits truly outweigh the consequences.

"I see... you're up next in the Conferred God Battle."

Oh, I am? Who's unfortunate enough to be my opponent?

Battle 2: Divine Martial Realm's [Wu Guike]——VS—— Snow Song Realm's [Aerion Targaryen]

Oooh, my dearest of friends!

"Battle 2, Divine Martial Realm's Wu Guike, Snow Song Realm's Aerion Targaryen, enter the Conferred God Stage!"

BOOM.

Wu Guike jumped onto the Conferred God Stage while Aerion gracefully floated down. Wu Guike definitely felt something when he looked into Aerion's eyes. A strange order from some time ago... but since he couldn't put Justice and Aerion together, the order wasn't directly connected towards Aerion. In essence, it wasn't in effect.

"It is a great honour to face you, Aerion Targaryen, I hope to gain a few pointers from this battle even if victory is impossible. It would be a shame to come out empty-handed after facing someone of your strength."

Aerion smiled. "I'll provide you with a few pointers, don't you worry about that."

"The Conferred God Battle's first-round, second match… begin!"
