Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 16 - Fated Encounter

"My dear father, I'm so very close to the spirit realm. Can I have some pills? Please... I really need it!"

Xiao Li looked unimpressed by his son's plea. This was like the fifth time this month his son came to him for resources. He eventually decided to make a deal. If his son breaks through to the spirit profound realm, he would get further resources. If he didn't, then he would have to break through on his own. His son, ecstatic to finally break through, immediately accepted the deal.

"Very well, let's go down to the vault to find you some resources..."

"Thank you, father!"

Everything was normal until they reached the vault. Xiao Li raised his eyebrow in confusion.

"Where's the guard? I told the elders to always assign at least one guard to the vault..."

"It could be that the guard is off duty... besides, it's sunny outside. No one would dare to trespass this sect during the day."

Xiao Li nodded, shrugging off his paranoia and suspicions. He unlocked the vault with one of his keys and pushed it open. The next second changed everything... he looked around. He saw... nothing, just the walls. There was a guard at the very end of the room with a note stuck to his forehead by a knife. Xiao Li quickly walked over to the dead guard, suppressing his anger. He hoped that this was all just a prank from one of the elders. Then he read the note... and then entire sect (and the lands surrounding it) heard a thundering ROAR.

"DAMN YOU JUN LONG! WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU AGAIN, THERE WON'T BE ANYTHING LEFT! NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL! I WILL BURN ALL OF YOUR SKIN, BONES, YOUR LIMBS AND FEED WHATEVER REMAINS TO THE RATS!"

"Father... we can always..."

"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH, BRAT."

Xiao Li's son instantly silenced himself and swiftly left the vault. He knew that whenever his father was this pissed it was best to leave the surrounding area as fast as possible.

The Infernal Demon Sect was never the same after that day, the guards were severely punished if they were caught slacking, many members of the sect were sent down to steal from the local towns (to refill the vault) and Xiao Li was vastly paranoid of Jun Long's return. He would even stay in the sect every day and check the vault every now and then. It was safe to say that Xiao Li's son wouldn't get his pills anytime soon.

~Meanwhile

Look at all of these storage rings! There's fifteen!

"Uhem, they're spatial rings."

The Dragon commentated, I was surprised by its voice.

"You can talk?"

"You've heard me talk before... no?"

"I thought that you could only speak to me when I was in that endless, dark plane..."

"That was true before... but you and I are stronger and closer than ever. Look at your arm... it's practically suppressed dragon scale. Unleash it, channel profound energy into your arm and witness the transformation."

Alright... let's see. I channel my profound energy into my left arm and then... crimson red scales instantly grow. Not only scales, but there was a black horn too... where my elbow was supposed to be!

"This... is... AMAZING!"

It took me a solid ten minutes to get over the fact that I had a cool dragon arm. Once the excitement faded, I got back to business. Fifteen spatial rings, ten silver, four yellow and one cyan. The cyan one could store as much as all ten silver rings... which meant that it was far more valuable. I decided to wear the cyan one and store everything inside of it, including the other rings.

Then I looked over the rewards that I reaped, using 'Observe' to learn about the things that I didn't know.

That's far more resources than I would've hoped... but the most appealing thing was the earth profound halberd. The aura it was giving off... it was so dominant. It was VERY long (200cm), extremely sharp and looked absolutely glorious (made of beautiful and luxurious materials). It was as if it was the king among halberds. How could I not pick it up and call it my own? It was a perfect weapon, for a King like myself!

The other weapons weren't as amazing but I still kept them for later. Maybe I could sell it to my fellow disciples at a cheaper price or to some merchant. Then there were the pills which I will use in my training. The last thing was the three books... they all sounded otherworldly, I couldn't wait to learn them.

"Demon King's Arts"

"Swift Wind Technique"

"Earth Golem Creation"

It's time to learn them and begin my training.

~a few days later

Right after stealing from the Infernal Demon Sect, Aerion went back to the wasteland of death to train. He knew that there were some beasts that were stronger than him and so, it was a good place to grow. Every morning he would consume a large number of pills... and after that, he would indiscriminately slay the beasts who inhabited the wasteland of death with his massive halberd. He learnt to take advantage of his left dragon-like arm by using the horn as an offensive weapon and the scales as a defensive option. He also used the superior strength of the dragon arm to help him swing the halberd more accurately and swiftly (it is a very heavy weapon).

Currently, he was napping after a good meal (another silverback wolf). But then he was awakened by some bandit's excitement. Which greatly angered Aerion and got him to his feet.

"I'll consider you smart!"

I open my eyes and see a giant sword being thrown at one of the bandits. He was too carefree and so, his entire arm (and c.h.e.s.t) was crushed by the pressure from the greatsword. The youth who threw the giant sword laughed coldly.

"Is my sword fun?"

"You...you..."

I violently stab my halberd into the ground, which created a loud noise. Now that I got their attention, I spoke loudly.

"OI, ALL OF YOU... PEOPLE. DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? NO? LET ME TELL YOU. I AM JUN LONG, OF THE NOBLE ROGUE SECT! YOU ALL HAVE COMMITTED A GRAVE OFFENSE, DISTURBING MY SLEEP! I DEMAND COMPENSATION IMMEDIATELY."

One of the bandits laughed and the rest of them joined in.

"Jun Long... who?"

My blood starts to boil, but then I calm myself down. If they do not wish to give my compensation, then... I'll just have to take from their dead bodies! I coldly state a fact.

"The man who killed you."

SHREE

The earth profound halberd, sky piercer (I named it some time ago), flew straight through the bandit's body... instantly taking his life. The strongest of the bandits quickly yelled a command.

"Everyone... Kill those two!"

So that boy with the giant sword was my ally in one way or another... interesting. I turned my eyes to the five bandits who were getting closer to me. I smiled arrogantly and started to dismantle them piece by piece.

The first of them lunged me with his sword.

Counter kill.

I step to the side, lock his head around my arms and snap his neck. There were four left. Using Swift Wind, a movement enhancing skill, I quickly recover my halberd. All four of them shuddered with fear... then they ran! I laughed for a second.

"How am I supposed to get my compensation if all of you run away?"

I use Swift Wind again to appear in front of the four bandits. Then I raise Sky Piercer and slash horizontally. The axe part of the Sky Piercer chopped off all four heads without any sort of issue. It was like cutting butter with a knife.

I dragged the bodies into one point to inspect my loot. The youth with the giant sword looked in my direction, with a face of suspicion. But not all of his attention was focused on me, he also looked at one of the disciples that the bandits were harassing.

"You... it was you who led them to me, no?"

The disciple was sweating bullets at this point.

"No...no... I... please, benefactor hear... me out. I... only wanted to protect... my dear junior... it was the only way. Luckily, you, benefactor exterminated these evil people... please let us go. We will remember this kindness for the rest of our lives if you... let us go!"

The young man looked suddenly put on a face of l.u.s.t and asked a simple question. "She is a v.i.r.g.i.n, right?"

"Yes... she is! In... in fact, if you... want her... you can have her. If that would make benefactor happy... of course."

I was disgusted by the words coming out of the senior disciple's mouth. Suddenly, Sky Piercer "accidentally" pierced his heart. The halberd kept him standing while buckets of blood painted the sand. Blood was coming out of his mouth and contaminating my holy weapon... I pulled Sky Piercer out of his c.h.e.s.t.

"G...gah! You... I thought..."

Those were his final words. I commentated on his death.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. You deserved it..."

The young man looked at me coldly.

"You stole my kill... but more importantly, who are you?"

"I was about to ask the same question... fancy a spar first, before introductions? I haven't had a good fight for a few days..."

It took the young man a few moments of silence to agree.

"Very well... let's spar."
