Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 190 - Nameless Manual

"No? We went through so many things just to see you again..."

"Impossible... he wouldn't... do this to me." Aerion grit his teeth and drew Blackfyre. With a single strike, all twelve guards collapsed to the floor... as dead men. He moved his sword to her throat.

However, try as he might, Aerion could never slay his own kin. Instead, he placed her in a state of unconsciousness through the use of his Rinne Sharingan. With a conflicted sigh, he sheathed Blackfyre and absorbed the guards with his silver claw. He lifted his supposed sister and carried her away from the Red Keep.

'You have some explaining to do.'

Aerion sat on his hill where he had set up a fire for some light. This night was especially dark, after all. The ruins of Bloodstone laid ahead which wasn't a pleasant sight in the slightest. Before he could see dozens of sh.i.p.s docked at the port but now there wasn't a single one.

Eventually, Rhaenys awakened.

"Is the rest of Primal Chaos a ruin as well?" Aerion inquired.

He already knew the answer through his divine sense but he wished to hear it from her.

"Yes, only the subjects of the Transcendent Being remain."

"Did He send you and Aegon here to irk me?"

"No, he did so to reunite us. Once everyone dies... we can all be together. Death is so much more wonderful than life and so, he was kind enough to instruct us to grant this mercy to everyone. Please... you should end it here and make it easier for all of us."

Aerion resisted the urge to cut her head. "You are not the Rhaenys I knew. You might think that death is more wonderful but some people would very much prefer to continue living. The Transcendent Being thinks he can decide for everyone... hmph. Do you know why I want to continue living? To ensure that the Targaryen Dynasty and the Valyrian Empire live on."

Aerion stood up and finished his glass of wine. "You have no such wish... in fact, your wish is both childish and selfish. If everyone is dead, nothing will ever change. The joy will fade with time. If nothing changes and we live the same years over and over again... what kind of life is that? A life of boredom, hmph, I would kill myself after a thousand or so years."

"This will not stand, not on my watch at least. You and Aegon can do as you wish for now... just know at all of your efforts will be reversed once I become the Transcendent Being." Aerion smiled. "We will be together... but not in this nightmare. Also, be sure to tell Aegon that Big Brother still loves him even though he wishes to dump him into a pit of wildfire."

Aerion turned around and closed his eyes. "It will be farewell for now, Rhaenys."

Then he teleported away.

"..."

'I must keep moving forward... this is only a distraction set by Him and nothing more. Staying here for much longer would only mean playing into his hands.'

Aerion entered the ninth floor and opened the entrance to the Divine Palace once more. Upon entering the dimension, he was met with the Cloaked Man who sat at the side of the real entrance. Aerion couldn't tell if he was awake or not due to the fog that covered his face.

"It has been quite some time, hasn't it?"

"Indeed, it has been."

"You were wise to avoid the past and continue towards your real goal." The Cloaked Man stated. "I'm proud of you, Aerion Targaryen... you have m.a.t.u.r.ed and grown over all of these years. Seeing your progress first hand was a true blessing, a blessing that I was unworthy of."

"I wonder who lays beyond that mist..."

"You don't need to know, hahaha." The Cloaked Man extended his arm. "What do you think about one final trade? I assure you, this will increase your chances of success by a great margin."

"Then it is agreed." Aerion gave him the Dungeon ring which had a near-infinite amount of gold.

"Ah, this is good." He nodded and withdrew an ordinary-looking manual along with a pill. His Eternal Heaven Pearl also regained all of its power. "This is the greatest reward I can give you... and, fortunately enough, you meet the requirements to acquire it."

Aerion observed the manual and saw that it did not have a name tied to it. It was nameless... along with that, its contents seemed to be empty. "I hope that it's not how it seems."

"Comprehending the sacred text will be up to you, although the pill will certainly make it easier. Now that my duty is complete, there is no longer a reason for me to stay here. Do keep in mind that the future lays on your shoulders... if you are to fail, Primal Chaos will be erased completely. It would be best if that does not happen, or all of your struggles will mean nothing in the end."

With that, the Cloaked Man disappeared from his sight. Aerion took the pill but didn't notice a single change even after he refined it completely. He activated his Rinne Sharingan and read through the manual. Each word was written in a weird language he did not recognise but, for reasons unknown, he understood every word after some comprehension.

'The Universe began with darkness... then came fire and ice. Fire and ice brought forth life along with the earth, ocean and sky. There was great beauty in this creation as peace and art followed. With darkness, came the ambition of man... leading to war and war led to death, leading to a world of darkness once more.'

'Then fire came anew... continuing the eternal cycle.'

Aerion stood up after finishing the manual. 'That was quite short.'

"Ah, but it took you days to finish comprehending it." Rotias chuckled. "Have you gained any insight from it?"

'I have thought of something... what if the Transcendent Being has searched for a worthy combatant throughout countless other dimensions and time periods. Maybe this isn't the first Primal Chaos or, perhaps, He isn't even the first Transcendent Being.'

"That does sound quite intriguing. His power is boundless so he is certainly capable of doing as he wishes. The eternal cycle... huh, maybe us Ancestral Gods are even more insignificant than first thought."

'We will find out.' Aerion replied, putting away the manual and opening the main entrance to the Divine Palace. The massive hall was empty except for a few janitors cleaning away the blood.

'Is that really necessary?'

"Not at all." Rotias laughed.

The World Teleportation Portal was ineffective in the Divine Palace on its own. However, it was usable once more with the assistance of Izanagi's naginata. It rejected reality and the space laws present, allowing the World Teleportation Portal to pierce space as if it were any other dimension.

'You will lead me to my fellow Ancestral Gods.'

"As you command, milord."

Aerion appeared in an even greater hall, one that resembled the entrance to a throne room. No one guarded the throne room as it was unnecessary. The barrier protecting it was impenetrable even for a peak Ancestral God. The others all sat around the hall, gathering the divine profound energy around them and increasing their cultivation strength.

Aerion's heavy aura was difficult to ignore, however. They all awakened within moments of his appearance.

"Have I missed anything?" Aerion inquired.

"Some bloodshed," Robb replied. "But, other than that, you have not missed much."

"I can see that all of you have grown stronger which is brilliant, however, it is still lackl.u.s.tre. To even have a chance, we must all be at the peak of the Ancestral God Realm."

"Which is why we are still here," Izanami replied. "That, and because we needed you to return. The little barrier itself is child's play... hmph, I could have removed it a long time ago."

"I'm afraid that we will not be returning to the Primal Chaos Dimension anytime soon. However, it is the sacrifice we have made for greater power." Qianye Ying'er stated.

Aerion sighed. "This is my battle yet I have dragged you all into it... I do feel slightly guilty, hahaha."

"Your battle is our battle, My Lord," Robb replied. "That is the purpose of a subject, no?"

"I will follow until the very end. After all, it is the duty of a wife to serve her husband anyway she can." Mu Xuanyin stated. "I wonder, where did the Mirror of Samsara lead you?"

"Hmm, it led me to Hell," Aerion replied. "It was easily the least pleasant place I've visited yet."

...

Aerion realised that the others did not know what happened to Primal Chaos. That was when he decided to reveal the truth, in order to strengthen their resolve in defeating the Transcendent Being. He swiftly explained his journey in the Seventh Hell and they repaid the favour by telling him of their own trials.

The greater hall could be considered a palace on its own, with nearly an endless number of rooms and services. Aerion was surprised that there were a thousand or so servants of the Transcendent Being who did not attack him straight away. Shockingly enough, they were created to serve the avatars of the Ancestral Gods.

'A slight p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e, I suppose. It would be wise to get more comfortable now because I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Patience and ambition... I will need to exercise them well if I am to reach the peak of the Ancestral God Realm without going mad.'

Aerion sighed. 'The end is so close yet it's so far away at the same time.'
