Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 191 - The Blood-Soaked Throneroom

After a billion years of meditation, duelling, slaughtering Creation Gods and dual-cultivation, Aerion still found himself at the late stages of the Ancestral God Realm. He realised that a breakthrough wasn't going to occur through normal means after everyone else had broken through to the peak long ago. In terms of battle strength, however, he had a far higher ceiling than the rest... as usual.

Everything else had become a fading memory as he focused only on cultivation. It was a strange feeling... in truth, a massive majority of his life had been spent in the Divine Palace yet it did not feel like that was the case. Most of his greater memories came from his first hundred years, after all. After reuniting with everyone else, the rest of his memories just blurred together from a distance. Though, if he truly tried, he could remember everything in great detail due to being an Ancestral God.

There was a forge just as impressive as the one in his inner world so he made good use of it. Blackfyre and Sky Piercer had been reforged by Aerion himself as he prepared himself for the last trial that awaited him.

"You have almost sacrificed everything for this single victory." Rotias chuckled.

'It will be the greatest victory... or the worst defeat.' Aerion smiled. 'This Dragon God does not intend to lose, however.'

'Even if everything falls... I will only continue to rise.'

"Feeling overly confident, eh?"

'I do not doubt my abilities.' Aerion replied as he left the forge.

He cut through space with a wave of the hand, appearing at the entrance to the throne room of the Divine Palace. Aerion had grown accustomed to making his own clothes through the Law of Nothingness which he had mastered like the Fire Dragon God before him. He styled himself with mainly black and silver divine robes now, resembling the almighty Star Flame.

With a single glance, he could tell that everyone was prepared. They all longed for this endless cycle of cultivation to end and return to the Primal Chaos Dimension, or at the very least regain their freedom to do so. He felt the same way.

Aerion withdrew the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword. "The end is near! If we fall, then the Primal Chaos Dimension and everything that used to reside in it will be lost forever. Homes, friends, wives, children, siblings, great subjects... the countless people who were unjustly sent to their deaths by the Transcendent Being will remain dead. Primal Chaos itself will be erased in due time... if it has not already been erased."

"There is far too much at stake... which is why we will not falter!" Aerion's violet eyes glowed as he slashed through the gate with ease. "We will overthrow the Transcendent Being and emerge victorious in this final battle!"

A thunderous round of roars resounded across the hall as all seven avatars stormed into the throne room. Surprisingly enough, they were met with no resistance upon entering the very core of the Divine Palace. It was dead silent except for a round of applause from above.

"Welcome, my dear avatars. How kind of you all to come and visit me at this time. I was beginning to feel bored… you should know that, despite my old age, I do not have the best patience."

The realm they had entered was relatively small. The Transcendent Being leisurely sat on a throne which shined in all the bright colours one could imagine… some of them couldn't even be imagined, let alone seen by a mortal. A glistening carpet of pure white led to his throne. The rest of the realm was quite dark in comparison, however.

'It is most certainly an overwhelming place for the eyes.' Aerion observed.

"You will not need to concern yourself with the poor fate of being bored for much longer, " Daeron announced.

"Oh... yes, you will do well to amuse this God. That arrogant confidence is why I grew so fond of your father. Well... it was that along with his ability to support this confidence. Can you do the same, I wonder?"

He flicked his fingers and Daeron was warped away in an instant. A large screen appeared at the very middle of the room which reflected another location. It was plainly a wasteland with nothing in it except for Daeron and another being.

It rose from the endless field of sand, piercing the sky itself with its height. Aerion observed and realised that the giant who stood before Daeron was an Ancestral God.

The Transcendent Being recognized Aerion's unworried expression. "Are you not afraid of what could happen to your poor...oh, so very poor son? He is your last surviving child, after all... hahaha."

"He is not a child." Aerion shook his head slightly. "Daeron is a Dragon who has m.a.t.u.r.ed long ago. The being that you so kindly created over there will not last very long, I'm afraid."

"Ah, I can safely presume that you are correct... and, indeed, you are!"

"What do w-" Robb was going to ask on what they should do next as the circ.u.mstances were quite strange but he was interrupted.

"How irritating." He flicked his fingers and the rest joined Daeron, except for Aerion and Izanami. Five more giants appeared in the wasteland, resulting in the warped avatars being narrowly outnumbered.

"Now that the less relevant avatars are out of the way, we may proceed."

"Proceed... with what?" Izanami inquired.

"The final trial." The Transcendent Being smiled, rising from his throne and descending to the ground. He stopped a few meters away from the two. Then, with a sudden wave of his hand, the space around Aerion started to act in a chaotic manner.

Aerion raised the Heaven Punishing Anecstral Sword and cut through space like an ordinary pair of strings. "And so it begins... on my terms, not yours."

Aerion withdrew his naginata

Izanagi.

They all returned to the throne room, much to the Transcendent Being's distaste. He rolled his eyes. "Very well... we'll do it your way!"

His figure disappeared completely, leaving no visible traces.

BOOM.

"AHH..."

"He Lin!"

The Transcendent Being had propelled He Lin through the wall with a single tap of his finger, thoroughly wounding him in the process. He followed that up with a trail of terrifying black lighting.

'Divine Rebirth... Star Annihilation!'

Aerion moved as swiftly as lighting, intercepting the black lighting with a mighty profound skill of his own. The lightning dispersed upon meeting the wave of star flames as Aerion looked down on the Transcendent Being. His long hair was purely silver while his aura was much of the same, except for the fact that it burned with even greater ferocity.

"Your strength is extraordinary, even for an Ancestral God." The Transcendent Being smiled. "Good... I expected no less from you, Aerion Targaryen."

Aerion ignored him and flew to He Lin who was floating outside of the throne room. The realm seemed to be an empty void of light except for the throne room itself, of course. Aerion wished to heal He Lin's severe wounds but his left hand was moved to the side.

"Master..."

"What are you doing?" Aerion frowned. "These wounds are quite severe and yet you show no effort in tending to them... no, you are forcing yourself into an even worse state."

"Indeed... Master you do know that I was not a fighter, to begin with. Even after your mentoring, I was clearly weaker than the rest because I... am a wood spirit in the end."

"Pure strength is not all that matters in battle..."

"While you, my Master... you are the greatest warrior who ever lived. You are the Dragon among dragons... something I could never be." He Lin smiled. "Only you can utilise my strength to the fullest extent and so, this is something that will greater the odds in our favour."

He Lin closed his eyes as he drew out his divine inheritance.

"No, we can still defeat him together. Besides... I can only be the avatar of a single Ancestral God."

"Yes, Master, my spirit will be there to...see you prevail. Forgive me for placing such a heavy burden on you... Master."

"I... you fool! Do you have any idea what you're doing? Return it at once and I'll heal you."

He Lin chuckled as he forced his inheritance upon Aerion. "This is the one time I will have to disobey you... farewell..."

A neon green light surrounded Aerion as it faded from He Lin. He had given everything to Aerion with the belief that his Master would emerge victorious in the end.

Meanwhile, Aerion had the great duty of merging Nexus' divine inheritance with his own. As he focused on this task, the image of the Silver Dragon appeared in his mind. They both roared simultaneously as if they were one.

"There is nothing in existence that I cannot dominate and make my own!"

In the void of darkness, the radiant silver-crimson light trapped the green aura and absorbed it in its entirety. That was when a drastic change occurred within his body as he started to transcend even further. The backlash from this change was enough to keep him from moving anywhere as he began to transform.

Eventually, he opened his eyes and realised that there was not a single trace of He Lin's existence left... except for himself.

'The Transcendent Calamity Dragon Veins... He Lin's final gift.'

"The other avatars are not doing well in your absence. In truth, most of them are already dead." Rotias stated.

BOOM.

Aerion landed in the throne room, breaking what was left of the roof. Qianye Ying'er, Mu Xuanyin and Robb were scattered across the bloody-soaked ground while Izanami was chained to the wall. The Transcendent Being held Daeron by the neck as he was preparing to end his life.

"Royal... father... we... failed you."

"Oh, your poor soul."

Bang.

The Transcendent Being crushed Daeron's neck with some effort, instantly killing him. An enormous wave of fury overcame Aerion as he disappeared in a trail of eight afterimages, rushing towards him.

ROOAAAAAARRRR.

BOOOM.

The Transcendent Being waved his hand, blocking the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword. He then exerted more of his strength and propelled Aerion away with his other hand before he could strike again.

The Transcendent Being observed his arm and noticed a small cut along with a relatively large bruise. It was where the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword had been slammed into his hand by Aerion previously.

"You made me bleed... most impressive."

"I'll do far more than that soon enough." Aerion coldly replied.
