"Are you mad?"

"No, I think this mission will be perfect."

Tai Quin shook his head. "Nah, man. I'm not going on a suicide mission."

"And that's why you'll never lead the Noble Rogue Sect."

*COLD BLOODED*

This hit Tai Quin's soft spot... he always wanted to be the leader, but his brother was always seen as the better option. He was brave and didn't fear anything, Tai Quin tried to be the same... but he just couldn't. It was all a mask... in truth, he was a coward.

"What do you know about it!?"

"Don't get all emotional, I have a Tai Lin to kill."

Aerion ignored him and tore the paper off the board. He walked up to an elder and gave it to him.

"Hmm? I think this might be a bit too hard for you... why don't you try..."

"No, I insist."

The elder sighed and signed the paper. "Who will be coming with you?"

"I'm not too sure..."

Tai Shu was watching the whole thing, he was always looking for a new method to insult his brother... this happened to be one of them. He smirked and walked up to Aerion.

"I'll go... if you don't mind."

"Brother... you too!?"

Aerion nodded, he heard that Tai Shu was a very capable fighter. "I don't mind."

Then Tai Xia also moved in. "My Silver Prince is going on a mission... how could I not go?"

Aerion looked at her, confused. Silver Prince? Since when? Then Tai Quin sighs.

"My siblings are both going... guess I'll go too."

Damn, how did Aerion get such a party going? How did he go from doing it solo to a four people party? It just happened...

"This kind of lineup... I don't think they need anyone extra, haha."

"Yeah, we would just waste space."

"Tai Quin is around Spirit Profound 6, Shu is probably Spirit Profound 7 and Xia... she's probably Spirit Profound 8."

"Xia, Spirt Profound 8? You must be joking."

"I'm not, she's just very talented."

"Whatever, that leaves the silver-haired boy."

"He has that aura around him... I'm guessing Spirit Profound.... hmmm... 7."

"If he is that strong, this mission should be a success."

"Even if it isn't, the Grandmaster wouldn't let his precious children die... so he'll probably send some master or elder to protect them just in case."

"Heh, that Tai Lin is dead no matter what."

~The Journey

Tai Xia, Tai Quin and Tai Shu all owned large, tamed birds... Aerion was the only one who didn't.

*Cough*

"What about me? Will I have to walk the way there?"

"Tch." Tai Shu flew into the sky on his bird, so did Tai Quin.

"My brothers are all jerks, you can ride my bird."

Aerion nodded and smiled in gratitude. "Thanks"

He just realised that he was throwing Liu Lei's advice straight into the bin... Aerion shrugged his shoulders. Liu Lei was probably just exaggerating. He sat down on the bird, right behind Tai Xia. They were close... a little bit too close.

Aerion blushed "Oh... I'm sorry."

She shook her head "No, it's fine. Hold on to me, unless you want to fall."

"Alright..."

Tai Xia knew exactly where to fly since she went there before for some mission. But wasn't she with him at the 100-day training? How come she has already completed missions? Maybe she was doing the training just for fun? Aerion couldn't figure it out.

~Two days later

They made it to the New Moon City in two days. Xia and Aerion would usually stop to get some food and chat for a bit, they were getting closer and closer since they were together... alone. Shu and Quin made it to the City a few hours earlier so they had the time to speak with the agent and governor. By the time Aerion and Xia arrived, Shu and Quin were waiting by the gates of the City.

"Looks like the love birds have arrived a few hours late." Tai Shu laughed for a second.

*Cough*

Aerion wanted to change subjects. "So what information did you guys gather?"

Tai Quin wanted to speak, but Shu spoke first. "Tai Lin has been using our sacred arts for his own good by robbing sects and local merchants blind. He's also killing innocent civilians. Once someone actually caught Tai Lin and injured him, but he escaped with a smoke bomb. Damn him, he's making us look bad. We're not thieves, we earn our money..."

Tai Shu clenched his fists. "When I get my hands on him, I'll make sure there's NOTHING left!"

"So, how do we find this Tai Lin?"

Tai Quin spoke up. "He strikes at night, so we should look for him then."

"Right."

~Night

We spent the day in the governor's mansion, he was nice enough to lend us a room. Every servant treated us with respect as if we were some heavenly figures. In truth, we're just disciples. Well... at least I'm just a disciple, the others are all children of the Legendary Tai Wentian!

"So what's Tai Lin's backstory? Why did he leave the sect?" I was genuinely interested, so I asked Tai Quin.

"He's a distant relative who killed his whole squad during a mission... his reasoning was that it was fun. He was a complete psychopath, so our father decided to chain him up... but he escaped. Now we're here."

Tai Shu stood up. "It's time we leave and find that bastard, Tai Lin."

Everyone nodded and we all climbed up the governor's mansion to get a good view over the City. It was midnight and the sea, on my right, shimmered in the moonlight. Aerion realised that it was a long time since he's been at the sea, yeah... that time a storm swooped his entire fleet and killed him. I looked around, with my Sharingan, for any suspicious behaviour. I couldn't find anything...

*SHEW*

GAH!

A dart flies and penetrates Tai Quin's neck.

Swift Wind.

He almost dropped down the roof and into the concrete but Aerion caught his leg and got him back up. The dart was filled with green, acidic poison... Tai Quin was slowly dying. To make matters worse, he was unconscious.

"Kekekeke, I've found my hunters... you are all so beautiful... it would be a shame if I carved you all up. Hahaha."

That confirmed it, the psycho we were looking for caught us first. He appeared in front of Tai Shu and mocked his previous bravery.

"When I get my hands on him... I'll make sure there's nothing left! Hahahahah. What are you going to say now? Your protector... he's enjoying some of my poison. No one can save you now, but yourself. Come now, Shu, show me your battle power... show me how you will defeat me."

Tai Shu was shaking heavily, but he still attacked.

"Pitiful."

Tai Lin makes short work of Tai Shu by disarming him and knocking him out with a RESOUNDING slap. There's no way he was only Spirit Profound Nine... he had to be stronger than that. Perhaps all of the sects he robbed benefitted his cultivation... he has to be at least at Earth Profound 1.

"Well... there's only Xia left now." Then he looked at me "And who are you?"

"Xia, get Quin and Shu to safety... I'll deal with Tai Lin."

"But..."

"Go."

Aerion stared at Xia, his crimson red Sharingan eyes glowing in the darkness. The Sharingan can be very convincing...

Xia dragged Shu and Quin down to the lower floors of the mansion, Tai Lin tried to stop her but Aerion was in the way.

"You're not going anywhere."

"Oh? You can stop me? You think painting your hair silver gives you..."

Sky Piercer flew straight with blood l.u.s.t, aiming for Tai Lin. He got out of the way and the Halberd stabbed the concrete fifty meters down.

"Oh my bad, I think I touched a nerve. You don't have a weapon... what are you going to do?"

He could've just picked up Shu's sword but... eh, it wasn't anything spectacular. Sky Piercer is far better.

"Beat you up with my fists?"

"Good luck with tha-"

SWIFT WIND, CRIMSON DEMON WAVE!

Aerion appeared right behind Tai Lin and he turned around.

"What!?"

Aerion then shots a Crimson Wave at point-blank range out of his left hand.

SHEEEEW!

Tai Lin is sent flying, he faceplants the concrete. Aerion carefully drops down and picks up his Halberd.

"I have a weapon now."

Aerion sarcastically stated.
