Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 36 - Reunion

"Robb...?"

Then he lost consciousness again.

~

Aerion regained and lost consciousness many times over the week. One day, he (finally) fully woke up. During the recovery stage, his Great Way Of The Buddha broke through to the second stage. Aerion looked at the young man who sat next to him... then he looked at his surroundings. A pretty large room.

"My Lord..."

Aerion smiled... it was really him. Words could not describe how he felt... Robb really survived.

"Yes, it's me... so much time has passed since that day... how did you end up here?"

"I was going to ask the same question, My Lord."

"You first, Robb."

~

So, to summarise, Robb joined a Sect and stayed there for a while. Then, when he was out exploring the woods, he found me on the grass. It's not every day you see a handsome prince like myself on the grass, half dead. He brought me to the local doctor who said that he couldn't do anything about my wounds (not like I needed his help anyway). Then, in a few days time, I woke up. Aerion told Robb of his own adventures. It took some time, but Robb was very keen so Aerion explained everything until he reached the point where Rotias speared his body.

"You've gone through so many trials and tribulations, you make my struggles look insignificant."

Trials and Tribulations... this world has influenced Robb as it has influenced me.

"Hahaha, you flatter me. So... I'm planning on returning to the Noble Rogue Sect, will you come with me?"

Robb looked at Aerion, unsure. But then he looked at his Lord and nodded.

"I've spent a whole year here but... for you, My Lord, I'll sail across the whole world!"

Aerion smiled, he was delighted to be reunited with his Vice-Captain.

"Goodman."

~

The master of Robb's sect looked at Aerion and nodded in approval.

"We have been very fortunate to guide Robb in his path of cultivation."

"Good, I thank you for your assistance, take this. This should cover your expenses."

Aerion dropped a hundred purple profound coins and left. The master looked at the money... and nodded. Aerion is truly a man of virtue.

The journey back to the Noble Rogue Sect was about three days, should've been two days but he was travelling with Robb. Still, his company was most welcome. The Dragon doesn't talk much and Jasmine has been very quiet, the only person Aerion could talk to was Robb. Daemon was getting stronger and stronger, Aerion estimated that a breakthrough to the true profound realm would take place sometime in the next two months. Robb's cultivation was Nascent Stage 4, which isn't exactly impressive.

~

"Well done, you've completed the mission with flying colours. You can keep whatever you retrieved, the client is feeling generous."

"Then what did the client have to gain?"

The General shrugged his shoulders. "Personally, I don't know. Here's your real reward."

He threw a ring towards Aerion and he caught it.

A ring...? What am I supposed to do with this?

Then the ring slipped into his right ring finger. Aerion tried to take it off but it was stuck to his finger! Eventually, Aerion gave up on trying to take it off. The General completely ignored Aerion's struggles and looked towards Robb.

"Now, who is this person you've brought with you?"

"Oh, Robb? He's my loyal follower."

"Is that so? Did you forget that non-Blades are apprehended on sight here?"

"No, I didn't. But if he becomes a Blade, then there shouldn't be a problem... right?"

The General sighed. "He's not even in the Noble Rogue Sect but, perhaps, it's possible. You must ask the Grandmaster first. If he approves, then Robb can become a Blade through invitation."

"Thank you, General."

Aerion left the General's quarters and moved down to the Library with Robb.

~

"So you want your friend to be allowed straight into the Blades division?" Tai Wentian coldly asked.

"Yes, that's why I've come here."

"Hmm... alright, he can join the Noble Rogue Sect and the Blades division. But he'll have to undergo intense training before he can participate in missions."

"That's to be expected."

As Aerion was about to leave, the Grandmaster stopped him.

"Wait, I wish to speak to you about something. Can your companion leave for a minute or two?"

"Of course."

Robb went outside of the Library, leaving Tai Wentian and Aerion all alone. It looked like the Library was closed since were no disciples, masters or elders around. The Grandmaster wants to tell something to me, privately no less. I wonder what...

"The Blue Wind Ranking tournament is in exactly 56 days. Will you participate? After all, it's one of the most important events in the Blue Wind Empire."

"Of course, the Noble Rogue Sect can only pick 3 disciples... I would be honoured to participate as one of them."

"Good... I have no doubt that you will shine in the tournament. One more thing before you go."

"What is it?"

"No, two things. First things first, I'll be personally training you for the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament."

The Grandmaster let it sink in for a few seconds, Aerion was shocked... to say the least. The Grandmaster himself, the only Emperor Profound cultivator in the Noble Rogue Sect... he's going to train me? I'll be stronger in no time!

"I would be honoured... what's the other thing?"

The Grandmaster coughed. "How do you feel about my daughter, Tai Xia?"

This question was so random, Aerion didn't know what to make of it. He answered honestly.

"She's very beautiful and our relationship is going well..."

"Would you... marry her? It would be a great union, the future strongest cultivator and my beautiful daughter... the Noble Rogue Sect's future would be truly bright."

Oh, that's why he asked the first question. I would, obviously. Is there even a need to ask the question?

"Of course, as long as she is willing."

The grandmaster's grey eyes brightened and a very small smile surfaced.

"Then it is a done deal... Xia asked beforehand."

~

There wasn't going to be an engagement party as Tai Wentian saw no point in one. Though, the wedding was planned to happen a month or two after the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament. This would allow Aerion to focus on more immediate matters such as preparing for the tournament.

~

The Grandmaster met with Aerion in the Training Pavillion. Obviously, they took one of the private rooms. The density and quality of profound air in this room was far superior to the other rooms, it was way better than the room he used with Liu Lei. This was probably meant for masters and above...

"We're starting today?"

"Of course, every day counts. Let's begin with this..."

Tai Wentian speed blitzed Aerion and gave him a good punch in the stomach. Then, before Aerion could even react, he kicked him in the face... this kick sent him flying to the wall. Tai Wentian shook his head in disappointment.

"I thought you were stronger than that... stop holding back. If this is all the power you have..."

He wanted Aerion to go all out, taunting him is one of the most efficient ways to do so. Aerion took a deep breath and activated Draconic Heart.

"You want me to go all out... very well."

Aerion brought out Sky Piercer and began to charge its tip. Then he released the profound energy in one condensed, more powerful wave.

CRIMSON DEMON WAVE.

Tai Wentian slapped the wave away with relative ease and he was only using the strength of a peak Earth Profound cultivator. Then he released his Emperor Profound strength... which caused Aerion to fall to the floor from the pressure even though he was quite a few meters away.

"This is true strength. What you wield is nothing compared to it... I can crush you just by looking at you. Do you want to be strong, stronger than everyone else?"

"Yes... of course."

"Then stand up and fight! Do you think that I reached Emperor Profound just by locking myself in a room and meditating? No... I trained and fought against those who were stronger than me. You can't push yourself when your meditating, you can only do that in battle!"

"I have to push myself... I understand now."

Aerion finally stood up... both of his eyes glowing red with 3 tomoes each. Tai Wentian went back down to the peak of the Earth Profound Realm. Tai Wentian briefly smiled, this kid is tough.

"Let's see how you handle this..."

The Grandmaster released an Earth Destroying Tornado in the direction of Aerion. Aerion stretched out his left hand, silver scales instantly appeared on his whole arm... Heaven absorbing Silver Claw! The entire Tornado is s.u.c.k.e.d into his left hand. Aerion smiled, his Sharingan copying the Tornado perfectly. He combined the Tornado's profound energy with his own and channelled it into his right hand.

"Is this how you do it?"

Earth Destroying Tornado!

Aerion released a Tornado of his own. The only difference was that this one was at least twice as powerful as Tai Wentian's! This was the power of his right hand, absurd destructive power! Of course, absorbing Tai Wentian's tornado and releasing it twice as strong does have some consequences.

"Impressive..."

Tai Wentian nodded in approval. He increased his strength to the lower stages of the Sky Profound Realm and waved the Tornado away with some difficulty. The training lasted about six hours with minimal resting periods. It wasn't that bad since Aerion has a really durable body and very quick regeneration capabilities. By the end of the training, he could feel the increase in strength. That was only one day, imagine what 50+ days would do to him?

~

After the training session, Aerion looked around for Tai Xia. Turns out she found him first.

"Looking for me?"

Aerion turned around. "Of course... I can't believ-"

"Shhh."

~

They spent a while smooching and talking. It has been a long time since Aerion last spoke to Xia, so this was the perfect time to catch up. Eventually, Aerion returned to the Mansion. While he was making his way up the floors to his room, he encountered Shun Zhi.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Jun Long."

"Thank you."

"Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm going to be training Robb."

"That's great, he'll make a lot of progress under you."

Aerion climbed up the stairs to his room. Once he unlocked his door, Robb came out of the neighbouring room.

"It seems that we'll be neighbours from now on. My Lord."

"That's good news indeed. How was your first day in the Sect?"

"It was pretty unique, everything is on a whole different level here compared to my previous Sect."

"That's good to hear."

Aerion came inside and closed the door. He went straight to sleep as there was nothing for him to do and he was tired, as usual.

~

"It's time for my gift to spring to life! Hahahaha, a reward that continues rewarding... isn't it splendid? Do you think you almost died just a stupid ring? I wouldn't be that cruel." He took a sip of his tea and continued "Eventually, you'll gain the ability that you truly wish for... as long as you work for it."

"Maybe you went a bit overboard this time..." The beautiful lady admitted

The Transcendent Being shrugged his shoulders. "I just wanted to spice things up a bit."

~

This time Aerion dreamt of the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament and his overwhelming strength. In this dream, Aerion bodied pretty much everyone. It was cut short when he fought a girl late into the tournament. It ended when her eyes turned crimson red... then the flames burnt everything away.

"ROAR!!!"

"Thanks again, Dragon."

"Your welcome, take a look at this."

"...?"

The Dragon pointed towards a gate.

A gate, in this realm of nothingness?

"You might want to explore, there's bound to be something special beyond."

"Very well."

Aerion walked towards the gate and took a closer look. A lock... but it's no ordinary lock. The outline of the lock is a ring. Aerion looked down at his right hand, the ring given to him to be more specific. Could this be the key? Aerion took the ring off his finger and placed it in the lock. In a few seconds, the gate opened.

A white light shined upon him... and a whole new world was revealed.
