Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 64 - Completing The Conquest

Aerion swiftly flew to Clegane's Keep... to kill the Mountain, of course. Ser Amory Lorch was going to be next after the Mountain. Aerion didn't know where he lived, though. He decided that he would simply order Kevan Lannister to bring his head to him since House Lorch resides in the Westerlands. It only took him thirty minutes to arrive at his destination since it was very close to Casterly Rock.

It was a small keep, but it was still a keep. There weren't many men guarding it, but it didn't matter to Aerion whether there were five or a thousand men garrisoned. He landed on the wall and looked at the nearest guard who seemed relatively bored.

"Where's the Mountain? I would like to see him."

"Huh? O... Who are you?"

"You don't need that information."

Aerion drew Sky Piercer and soon its sharp point found its way to the guard's neck, barely touching it. The guard took a few seconds to realise what happened and decided to resist. An unwise choice, which led to his inevitable death.

The guard moved away from Sky Piercer and drew his sword.

"HELP!"

*Slash*

Aerion closed the distance instantly and decapitated the guard with Sky Piercer's axe. A few of the other guards heard his plea for help and rushed to his help. Unfortunately, they were a bit too late.

"Where the bloody Mountain?"

The guards didn't seem too keen on answering that question. They would rather slay Aerion right there and there... but they don't have the ability to do so. Aerion released a ball of fire and burnt the guards, turning them into ash. The ball of fire just so happened to destroy some parts of the Keep which was something the Mountain couldn't ignore. Soon he came rushing up the stairs and onto the wall. By the time he reached Aerion, half the keep was razed by his flame.

"WHAT IN SEVEN HELLS!?"

Aerion saw the man before him. He was tall, extremely so. Aerion recognised him through his countless encounters in the dungeon. His helmet hid his fear pretty well, how could a single man cause this much destruction?

"I've awaited this moment for years... it seems that the wait is finally over."

"What?"

"I, Aerion Targaryen, have come here to avenge my mother, brother and sister. In simpler terms; you're a dead man."

"Oh? Aerion Targaryen... you're runt who managed to escape. I wonder what made you so confident to come here all alone?"

"You'll find out in a few moments."

Aerion's Sky Piercer met the Mountain's Claymore. Sky Piercer was clearly superior, shattering the inferior Claymore with visible ease. The Mountain stepped back in shock and considered running... but it was too late for him.

A Thousand Cuts.

Aerion enclosed the Mountain inside of his wind which began to severely slash him at every angle. Aerion increased the strength of the wind as the seconds passed, killing the Mountain in a very painful way. The clear wind was slowly being corrupted by the Mountain's blood, turning dark red. Then Aerion stopped, just when the Mountain was about to die. Blackfyre was drawn from its sheath, craving the blood of its enemy. Aerion gouged the Mountain's left eye, then the right. Then he grabbed the Mountain by his right arm and sent him flying high up into the sky with such strength that it made the clouds disperse.

Star God's Broken Shadow.

Aerion exploded upwards, above the Mountain and grabbed his head. Crimson energy began to concentrate at his palm, rapidly growing in strength. Then he slammed him right back down and released the Crimson Demon Wave.

BOOM.

His body disintegrated, leaving nothing behind. Where Clegane's Keep once stood, one could only see a monstrous crater. Aerion looked down at the destruction he had caused and realised that he slightly got carried away. But, then he justified his actions.

Hmph, they were the Mountain's men... they deserved it.

Aerion shortly went to Pyke with Rhaegal, the ageing Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands quickly bent the knee after seeing his dragon. Then he left Pyke and made his way to the Vale, taking his time.

~2 weeks later~

"So this is the Eyrie, the seat of House Arryn. Another seemingly impenetrable stronghold... though, this one seems to be the most fortified." Aerion stated.

"With all those mountains and gates, it must be a nightmare to siege the castle." Rhaegal agreed.

A nightmare without dragons or cultivation strength, to be specific.

"Rhaegal has been getting all the spotlight just because he's a dragon. Can I do something, for once?" Daemon asked.

"It's not my fault you're less intimidating than myself. My mere presence inspires fear into the people."

"Hmph, if I was as large as you I'd be able to do the same thing but a dozen times better."

Aerion sighed, he had been quite neglectful towards Daemon. So he put Rhaegal back into the Sky Poison Pearl, ending the argument. Aerion and Daemon landed near the main entrance and they were, surprisingly, warmly greeted by the guards. Daemon did get quite a few looks from the people, as much as Aerion (now that's saying something). His appearance confused them; was he a lion, goat, snake, eagle or all four in one!? Aerion understood the reactions, for he himself didn't know how Daemon came to be.

"We have been expecting your arrival, Your Grace. Fighting would be unnecessary, the Vale is ready to serve its new King."

"A wise decision," Aerion responded positively, showing his approval.

They made their way to the main hall where Robert Arryn, son of the late Jon Arryn, bent the knee to Aerion. There was no sign of resistance or hesitation.

"Can I touch him?" Robert asked.

Aerion looked at Daemon and shrugged. "You can try."

Robert's hand made contact with Daemon's fur and Daemon didn't seem to mind. Aerion took a closer look at the sickly child and felt sympathetic towards him. He was physically weak... it was made very clear through his small and thin frame. Aerion wondered how he would one day rule the Vale as his Lord Paramount... if he could manage to live long enough. After a few seconds, Daemon moved his hand away. Robert stepped back, frightened.

"He bites, but not too often," Aerion added and let Daemon into the Sky Poison Pearl.

"..."

Aerion laughed at Robert's reaction and left, he had no more business to settle with the Eyrie or the Vale for that matter. He set his eyes on King's Landing... at last.

~

The Crownlands accepted Aerion's rule, except for King's Landing where Joffrey Baratheon proclaimed himself King. His mother, Cersei Lannister, refused to hand over King's Landing. It was a city with high walls and good fortifications, so it wouldn't be easy to take even with a force as large as Aerion's. Then Aerion himself arrived at King's Landing, marking the end of Joffrey's defiance. The army probably would've taken King's Landing if he had arrived a week or so later.

He organised his army and made them all stand outside of the walls. Soon, around two hundred thousand armed men covered the entire field and they all looked like a blur of black from a large distance. Many banners swayed with the wind, most notably; House Stark, House Tully, House Tyrell, House Baratheon, House Lannister and lastly, House Targaryen. The military might of this army couldn't be questioned, it was one of the mightiest armies ever assembled in the history of the Known World.

At last, this day has come.

Aerion raised his sword and pointed towards the gate.

Crimson Demon Wave.

He released a weak Crimson Demon Wave, one that easily destroyed the gate without causing any further damage. Then, with a thunderous voice, he commanded;

"STORM THE CITY!"

The army charged forward, swarming King's Landing. Aerion led the men with Blackfyre firmly in his hand. The only resistance they faced were some gold cloaks and leftover men from the Crownlands... a laughable force compared to the two-hundred thousand. They practically walked over the gold cloaks and shortly, they either fell to their knees or faced death.

Aerion slowly made his way up to the Red Keep and nothing could stop him. All those who tried fell to his blade. King's Landing was his, now all he needed to do was kick Joffrey off the Iron Throne and sit upon it himself.

The gate of the Red Keep stood before him and he took a deep breath, it has been years since he last resided inside of its walls. Around fifteen years, to be exact. Aerion opened the gate and walked inside. The first thing he saw was the Iron Throne. It towered over everything in the hall, emitting an aura of dominance. This was where the King of the Seven Kingdoms would sit, from where he would rule. It was truly a sight like no other, a throne that was forged from over a thousand swords. It was made of swords of those who apposed Aegon The Conqueror.

Aerion looked up at the boy who sat on the Iron Throne in disapproval.

"KILL HIM!" Joffrey ordered.

He dares to take what is rightfully mine...

Aerion walked forward, five Kingsguard standing between him and Joffrey. Aerion simply released his profound energy and forced them all to bend. Blackfyre tasted Jamie Lannister's blood in the form of a slash, without killing him. Then Aerion waved Cersei Lannister away and made his way up the stairs of the Iron Throne... swiftly reaching the very top. Joffrey tensed and began to sweat, regretting his transgressions. Aerion grabbed him by the neck and stared into his eyes, making the blonde boy more horrified than ever before. Then, he coldly stated;

"You are unworthy."

He sent him tumbling down the stairs. Turning in the direction of the gate, Aerion sat upon the Iron Throne. His Lord Paramounts soon entered through the gates and kneeled. He remembered the first few memories of his childhood that he had spent as a prince. Those were the days when he didn't have to worry about a single thing. Resting in the gardens, reading books of the great Targaryens that ruled the realm throughout the centuries, spending time with his family... among many other things. He once saw himself sitting on the Iron Throne, as a King... that life long dream had become true... he was now the King, the King Of The Seven Kingdoms!
