Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 70 - World-Shaking Events

"You can't be serious…"

"It's true, the Sun Moon Divine Hall was seized and put to the flame by a masked force."

The Sun Moon Divine Hall, one of the Four Great Sacred Grounds, defeated so easily and in a single day, no less! Has the world gone mad? For many, it has. Aerion saw this coming, but he didn't expect Rotias to go on the offensive so soon. Did he become impatient? No one knows, Rotias is quite unpredictable.

"So soon… we must be prepared to fend him off, if he is foolish enough to attack."

He must be using a strong host… someone beyond Sovereign Profound Ten, that is slightly worrying. I'll have to become even stronger. Those 3 Tyrant Profound Pills will play an important part, it seems. One problem that remains is his seemingly god-like ability to recover, the bastard doesn't die! I killed him twice, both times were with the Ghost Flame of Aerios… his supposed weakness. He merely left his host and moved to another. How do I permanently get rid off him?

He thought over it for a long time but no clear and reasonable solution came to him. Killing every person in the world would probably work… but it is (for obvious reasons) unreasonable and Aerion wouldn't bloody his hands with billions of lives to kill a single being. There must be another way, he thought. Trap his soul? How would I do that? Engulf him in extremely powerful flames? Perhaps. Freeze him? It would be worth trying.

~Almost 4 months later~

The name Jun Long was no more, in its stead was Aerion of the House Targaryen. It took awhile for people to get used to it, but they eventually did. Aerion spent most of the time improving his own cultivation strength, though he would sometimes share his wisdom with his disciples. He used a similar strategy to that of Tai Wentian… it was mainly a one-sided affair, to say the least, but they did see a lot of progress. Then news of the fall of the Supreme Ocean Palace came. The entire Profound Sky Continent shook once again. Only two of the Four Great Sacred Grounds remained. Then the Absolute Monarch Sanctuary's Saint Emperor declared himself the Emperor of the Sky Profound Continent. Only one true obstacle remained; The Mighty Heavenly Sword Region.

Aerion looked at the Sound Transmission Jade which Ling Kun had supplied him with after he won the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament. Aurion was excitedly rolling around the bed and almost rolled himself off it. Aerion stopped the little troublemaker and made him sit.

"Relax."

"No."

That was his favorite word, he rarely ever said 'yes'. He was picking up words quickly as Aerion spoke to Aurion as he would to anyone else. He was making great progress, but in no way was it comparable to what Aerion was doing at the same age.

He's willful, I'll give him that.

Aerion left him in the care of the nurse. Then he improved a few blades and reaped great rewards. He had a nearly infinite supply of money and was making his way to the very top in that regard. Powerful people from all over the continent came to him for his services after he made his return. He even had the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e of improving a Tyrant Profound spear. The man gave him an insane a sum of a hundred million for his work. The spear was on a realm of its own as no Tyrant Profound weapon could hope to match it. But it wasn't quite yet a Sovereign Profound weapon.

After making a few weapons better, he gathered his disciples. They looked nervous… Aerion then began to speak.

"You all heard the news, I assume?"

"Yeah, another Sacred Ground passed away." Sun Lin replied.

"You act like its nothing to be concerned about, as usual." Wei Ling glanced at him with disapproval.

"Who cares? If the Saint Emperor were to come here, our master would send him right back with his tail between his legs."

"Whatever the case, the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region is the last defence and I intend to foil the plans of this Saint Emperor. So, we are going to make our way there. Any objections?"

There were none, in fact, they welcomed the idea of travelling outside of the Dragon's Palace. Aerion bid farewell to Tai Xia and Izanami. He left the Heavenly Fire Demon to protect Oldtown, just in case. He made shocking strides in his cultivation, recently breaking through Sovereign Profound 7. Add on his battle power and he could fight Sovereign Profound 10 cultivators. Fen Juecheng requested to visit the Burning Heaven Clan and Aerion complied. The journey only took the group two days to complete.

The Sect was quite large when compared to the Noble Rogue Sect, but minuscule when put next to the Heavenly Sword Villa.

"Young m-master."

"It is I."

He walked forward and led the way. His father was glad to see him return and was taken by surprise by Fen Juecheng's strength.

"You are the person to thank, Jun… I mean, Aerion Targaryen."

"You can thank me with a grand feast."

"It will be arranged."

Aerion nodded. "Then get to it."

~

They spent three days in the Heaven Burning Clan, Aerion enjoyed his stay and even praised their hospitality. The wine was brilliant and so was the food. But all good times must come to an end.

"I thank you for your efforts, Fen Duanhun, I felt like I was at home during my stay."

"It pleases me to hear this, where are you going next?"

"The Mighty Heavenly Sword Region."

"You plan to join them? That would be most beneficial, I will be its protector and overlord. I will shield it from the Absolute Monarch Sanctuary and defeat the Saint Emperor. Then both will be forced to submit to me."

"Oh… those are some ambitious goals you have."

He doesn't believe it… which is understandable.

~

They rested near the Blue Wind Imperial City, in one of the larger inns. After a good night's sleep, Fen Juecheng confronted Aerion.

"What is it, Juecheng?"

"I would like to visit the Imperial Palace as well."

"What for?"

"I want to formally apologize to the Princess."

Aerion thought about it and agreed, there was no harm in an apology. Feb Juecheng sure has changed ever since he became my Dragonsguard… so much so that he is willing to apologize for his past deeds.

"Alright, go on."

"You won't be going?"

"No, it would seem less genuine if I went with you. The Emperor would think that I forced you. Besides, I might accidently charm the princess and ruin your chances."

"What… my chances? You are mistaken, master, I have no interest in Cang Yue, that chapter of my life has long passed. My sworn duty is to serve you."

Aerion laughed and sarcastically responded. "It is as you say."

Members of the Dragonsguard are allowed to have love interests and even marry, unlike the Kingsguard, as long as they fulfil their duties. A few hours later, Fen Juecheng returned. Aerion closed his book.

"So, how did it go?" He asked.

"The Emperor was confused for a long time… it was awkward, I must say. But I feel like a burden was lifted off my shoulders."

"Well done, you've come a long way."

"Thanks to you, master. It is getting late… I'll get some rest."

"You will need it."

Aerion opened the book, origins of the Heavenly Sword Villa. He found it quite interesting as it was slightly fictional, an interpretation of what truly happened. The author had a lot of freedom because of this and he used it well. As it is known, some trash from the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region built the strongest sect in the Blue Wind Empire with the support of the Blue Wind Empire… huh, something doesn't seem right. The Blue Wind Imperial Family should be concentrating on themselves as they are a laughing stock that can't even scratch the top 200 in its own empire! This is what you get when you feed someone more than yourself, they rise above you and grow distant.

"Jasmine, how strong do you think the Saint Emperor is?"

"Half-step Divine Origin, most likely."

"That's the best-case scenario… I would kill him instantly with the use of silver calamity. But if he's anything beyond that, I only see myself dying or barely scraping by."

"Don't be rash, you know that your death will lead to this princess' death, right?"

"I know that. But you should know that killing a mighty King like myself won't be an easy task."

~

"Everyone shush."

(I gotta make a call with this Jade which so happens to be one of the world's greatest mysteries… Ancient China's primitive hotline. How did they get this technology? Ah, no one cares. It just works.)

Aerion pulled out the Sound Transmission Jade and recorded himself, well his voice anyway.

"It is I, Aerion Targaryen, formerly known as Jun Long. I'm visiting to protect the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region from the dreadful future it is currently facing. Prepare a grand feast and bring out the Sword Master as I will need to speak to him."

He turned it off and continued forward.

"Man, I can't wait to fight some Sacred Ground disciples."

"They would embarrass you." Mo Yi replied.

"Even the trashy ones?" Sun Lin asked.

He nodded. "Even the trashy ones."

"In that case, maybe Fen Juecheng and Tai Shu can avenge me..."

"Don't act like I give a damn about you." Feb Juecheng coldly countered.

"Big bro Fen Juecheng is too cold… what about you, Tai Shu? Would you back me up?"

"I would, but only to show that the Dragonsguard are nothing to be trifled with."

"Now that's true comradery! Fen Juecheng should learn something from the great and wise Tai Shu."

"… Whatever."

~

Aerion was absorbed by the sight before him, a wide area of over a hundred kilometres filled with buildings. The people below seemed to be a little down, something was obviously disturbing them. As the days passed… the Saint Emperor drew closer and closer with his massive horde of loyal servants. They were the ultimate army. There was no need to worry about morale as they would be more than happy to die for their lord. Not only that, but they were all said to be Sovereigns. Every single one of them, according to a few rumours. It didn't seem too far fetched.

Aerion and his six Dragonsguard landed at the front entrance. It was opened and Aerion saw a familiar face.

"Ling Kun, it is good to see that you are alive and well. I did come a bit late, but it's better than never, eh?"
