Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 71 - The Rains Of The Sword Region

"It gladdens me that you came at last but your reasons for doing so are… different. What is this dreadful future you speak of?"

"The Saint Emperor will burn this entire region once he arrives, as he did to the other Sacred Grounds."

"Perhaps, he might. But those who did not oppose him survived. The Sword Master intends to pledge his loyalty when he does come. Surely, the Saint Emperor will be pleased by this and all the bloodshed would be avoided."

"… I see. Then there is no point in staying here, I simply can not help those who have already surrendered to him."

Aerion turned around and started walking in the opposite direction… then he noticed a few dots in the sky. Then he saw fire.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Thousands of explosions descended from the sky, bombarding everything below. The entire Heavenly Sword Region was in complete chaos the moment the first wave struck. After mere seconds, the land became a burning hell… a nightmare. Nothing could escape the flames, it had already engulfed everything in sight… everything but the area shielded by the mighty barrier of wind created by Aerion.

"This is the Saint Emperor's mercy?" Aerion questioned.

"… I… no… impossible! How… could…"

"Let me explain it to you. The Saint Emperor is no saint, he is the very opposite. A god who loves to see people bleed and buildings burn, that is who he is now."

Aerion looked at his Dragonsguard.

"What do we do now?"

I didn't expect Rotias to strike this soon… damn him. My Dragonsguard would only slow me down at this point. If only I had a bit more time to prepare, then I could have simply made a powerful formation and put them inside. Alas, there's no point in dwelling in the past… the present is now.

"Gather around me."

They did so and Aerion intently gazed at the dungeon ring's gem.

"Where do you want to go? Tell me and I shall make it so."

Take these Dragonsguard back to the Dragon's Palace.

"I'll meet you all there, hopefully. If I don't… then make sure to get everyone out of Oldtown. If that scenario comes to pass, make use of this."

Aerion threw a storage ring filled with Heavenly Cultivation pills.

"What!?"

"Master, thi-"

They all vanished into thin air, Ling Kun looked at Aerion in disbelief. "Teleportation? All the way to Oldtown… what about myself?"

"Oh, I suggest you start running."

He did as Aerion suggested, though his flight looked a bit clumsy at first. He made steady progress and Aerion turned to the burning entrance of the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region. He was saddened by the sight before him, he accepted the feeling and turned it into something else… rage. Pure and unrestrained rage.

Draconic Heart.

Aerion exploded upwards and cleaved the first person in sight with Sky Piercer. Then another victim fell to a slash of his blade. The surrounding sovereigns hesitated… Stormcaller shined and called upon the wind. A thousand cuts sent a hundred of them to the ground, most died and a few were lucky enough to survive. A burst of wild and thunderous laughter filled the entire region.

"HAHAHA… IT'S MY DEAREST FRIEND, AERION TARGARYEN! HEAVENLY MONARCH, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, WHAT ARE YOU TWO FOOLS LOOKING AT? I WANT HIS HEAD… DON'T MAKE ME HAVE TO GET IT MYSELF!"

So that one is Rotias.

Two figures flew towards Aerion… Aerion pointed Sky Piercer in their direction. Black and red flames formed and concentrated around the tip of the halberd. The two split, one going left and the other right. Aerion decided to strike the one on his right.

Purgatory, Crimson Demon Wave!

The flames exploded forth, destroying everything in its path. They incinerated an unfortunate woman, who was previously known as the Sovereign of the Seas, along with over a dozen monarchs. Aerion blocked the incoming strike from the Heavenly Monarch. His eyes glowed red with fire and a pattern manifested from his three tomoe.

"You are stronger than the lass." Aerion coldly stated.

He formed flames on his free hand and let them fly towards Aerion. No flame could harm him… it was a foolish attack. But, can you blame the monarch? His arts revolve around fire.

Aerion absorbed the flames and quickly finished the Heavenly Monarch.

Star God's Broken Shadow.

Slash.

His head fell all the way down, swiftly followed by his body. Killing two beings who were at the very pinnacle of the Profound Sky Continent seemed easier than he expected. He remembered when he first started cultivation… that was some time ago.

This is my strength at Tyrant Profound 4… heh, imagine if I were a sovereign! I would be able to snap Rotias like a twig.

"So damn useless. Makes me wonder why I even bothered converting those weaklings… oh well."

One step was all it took. Rotias blitzed towards Aerion and forced him down to the ground with a fierce punch to the gut.

BOOM.

Aerion crashed into the very center of the region, a burning ruin to be exact. He looked up and found a wave of… darkness coming towards him. This wave turned into dozens of spears which impaled Aerion. Ah, they didn't quite hit him… the barrage was blocked by a crimson figure, his Susanoo!

An arrogant smirk surfaced on Aerion's face. "You'll have to try harder than that."

He put both Stormcaller and Sky Piercer away and replaced them with Blackfyre. The Boundless Sword art only worked with one blade, unfortunately. But Blackfyre was far stronger than the other two anyway.

"That look on your face will be gone in a few minutes, Aerion, I will make you despair and regret coming here."

Aerion laughed. "Go ahead, I'd like to see how you accomplish such a feat!"

"You are nothing but a mere avatar… I'll kill you."

He spoke no more and flew down, Aerion stood up. He removed the armor of the Susanoo but kept its sword arms for more offensive options, some defence and higher mobility. Rotias' first strike was easily evaded and so was his second, third, fourth, fifth… his attacks became faster but Aerion blocked and dodged them all. Once, Rotias didn't miss. He struck Aerion a glancing blow, a small cut to the arm. Aerion retaliated as if he were some demon from the depths of hell.

SILVER CALAMITY, BOUNDLESS COUNTER.

SLASH.

All of Rotias' fury and wasted energy was put to use, combining with Aerion's sudden and brutal rage. A giant gash lay where Aerion cut him. It covered most of his c.h.e.s.t and blood poured out of him like a fountain. Aerion thought that might have been the finishing blow… but it was not. He stood still and did not fall.

"Hahaha… HAHAHAHA, OH MY… YOU'VE GROWN STRONG."

Aerion took a step back, temporarily powering down to Draconic Heart. Even though he used Silver Calamity for a moment, the side effects we're still present even though they were minor. He also used Purgatory for a while, longer than he wanted to.

"If only I had that body of yours… what a combination we would make! But, I don't think you'd agree to such an arrangement. Which is unfortunate. We could return the era of true gods and then… the major gods, as well. Only difference being you and I will rule this world instead of Aerios.."

Go on, keep talking, I need to recover. "True Gods, Major Gods, what is the difference?"

"True Gods came after I poisoned the world… they came from Celia. She also gracefully left eight fragments which led to eight slightly stronger true gods. In essence, these true gods are inferior. They call Celia the ancestral god but do not know that there were nine of us. I don't blame the ignorant fools… we became weak and distanced ourselves from everyday life. That is, until Aerios gave you everything that remained of him. Blood, soul, flames… everything. Although we were weak, none of us would dare to even think of giving a mere mortal our sacred blood. "

"Ah… I see."

The remaining sovereigns fell to the ground, bleeding from the inside. Rotias laughed as their blood came to him. The blood of his countless victims soon followed.

"Now, I shall end this little battle of ours."

"What in Seven Hells is this!?"

"A sacrifice all my followers and enemies have made…"

Aerion couldn't do anything… the blood was like an impenetrable barrier. He spoke some gibberish language and began to chant. He consumed all of the blood when he was done, which was more than enough to flood an entire city.

"I am the Lord of Destruction and Blood, King of the Underworld and I shall show you the power of a God!"

Aerion observed his current strength and compared it to Rotias.

Silver Calamity: Divine Origin 1

Rotias: Divine Origin 1 (before), Divine Origin 6 (now).

Aerion wanted to start digging his grave but he didn't, it's better to die fighting rather than yielding into death's arms.

"That Devil Sovereign left a few gifts… oh yes, he did. I feel my divine power slowly returning to me... what will you do, little Dragon?"

But it's better to live than die to him… or worse. Damn it all… I hate this, but I have no other choice. I have to live to fight another day.

IZANAGI.

The dungeon ring recovered its glow and Aerion teleported to Oldtown, the Dragon's Palace. Rotias looked around, confused. Did he just vanish?

"What? I made it a damn spectacle and you leave!? DAMN YOU!!!"

Rotias released his anger on the surrounding area. Though, there wasn't anyone left alive… every member of the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region was dead. The disciples, masters, elders, sword attendant and the sword master himself all died gruesome deaths. Except for Ling Kun, he got away just fine.

"Master, you've returned!"

"Never mind that, gather every one of importance here. Also, tell everyone to leave the City unless they want to meet the Saint Emperor's wrath."

"You lost…?" Fen Juecheng asked.

"I didn't lose, it was a tactical retreat… go."

Six Dragonsguard, the Heavenly Fire Demon, Izanami, Tai Xia and Aurion. Those were the people he decided to take with him to Westeros. His left eye was blind and so, he used his right.

Izanagi.

"You are abusing my abilities to the very limit... hmph, where to?"

My bedchamber in King's Landing.

He fell into his bed and rested, nothing else seemed to matter. His thoughts didn't make it easy to sleep… he failed to defeat Rotias and the consequences will be shown the next time he steps into the Profound Sky Continent. Not only that, but he will also have to explain a few things. A wife, son and a fiancée... explaining that will be fun, to say the least.
