The Akuma

Chapter 1 - Life 1: What, A System?

Itsuka Furuichi was a second year at Kurama High. And after half a month of school, he finally waited for his girlfriend Takamiya Sakura to call.

Standing on the playground in the school, Furuichi smiled and pressed the answer button of his antique mobile phone.

"Hey, Sakura, is your filming done?" At the end of the last semester, Sakura was one of the four major school flowers. She was fortunate enough to star in the movie of the famous director Ken Takisha. Furuichi didn't give Sakura trouble, so he rarely called her, as she said she needed focus and not distractions.

"I'm coming to see you Furuichi." The voice came from Sakura.

"Well, where are we going?"

"I'll arrive at school in half an hour."

"Well, I am waiting for you here..." Furuichi still had something to say, but the other party had already hung up the phone.

Furuichi stared at the phone, slightly locked his eyebrows, but then could not help but smile. Sakura had been busy filming, causing the two to not see each other for more than three months. This can be said to be the longest separation since the two years of love they shared.

....

30 Minutes Later:

It was already afternoon, and the scenery in the sunset was somewhat beautiful. There were few people on the playground. Furuichi and Sakura were walking around the playground.

Sakura besides him had used a scarf to cover her mouth with big sunglasses covering her facial features.

"There are few people on the playground. Isn't it better to take the headscarf off?" Furuichi said.

"no need."

Furuichi listened to her words and saw that she seemed to be somewhat unhappy. So he said. "Look, what is this?"

She glanced at the puppy doll in his hand and then looked away.

"It's a doll again." She didn't reach for the puppy doll.

"What you don't like it? Didn't you like it before?" Furuichi was surprised and slowly retracted his hand.

"I don't like it now." She had been slightly lowering her head. From the time she met him to the present, she didn't look at Furuichi.

After a long time, Sakura stood still and said

"Furuichi, let's break up."

Listening to this, Furuichi also stood still, and his heart sank. He turned and stared at her saying only, "Why?" The two were always together and he thought it would last this way but it seems he was wrong.

"Since we are familiar with each other, I will say it straight. You also saw that I am different from the past. We are not in the same league Furuichi. You can't give me the life I want."

"But I'm still a student, after that..." Furuichi's words were not finished, as he was interrupted by Sakura, she said

"What I want is now, not in the future. No one can say anything about the future."

"Is me being with you, bad?"

Furuichi pressed his palm and said

"Well, if you want to then sure, let's break up." On this part, Furuichi felt that he didn't have to say anything more.

"Furuichi, society is like this. If you don't change, then eventually you will be eliminated by society."

"I don't want to go with the flow of society - no wonder you moved your things away at the end of the semester. At that time, you planned to break up with me?"

"Yes!" Sakura said firmly.

"After breaking up, we can still be friends."

Furuichi took a few steps and Sakura stopped him.

"Furuichi."

Furuichi however didn't look back, and Sakura opened her mouth.

"Before we break up, at least walk me home Furu-."

"Walk on your own, God gave you feet for a reason."

After that, Furuichi drifted away.

....

While walking he felt annoyed that he didn't see this earlier, he was blinded by his emotions and failed to see the distance growing between them.

Furuichi, who's mind was out of this world, accidentally bumped into a female student and she had fallen to the ground.

Once this bump was made, his mind jogged back to normal as he saw the girl he bumped into was one of the Four school flowers, it was Tachibana Aoi-san.

He saw that because of his careless bump towards her she had hurt her ankle, as she sat on the ground in pain her curves were further accentuated.

Seeing this scene Furuichi bent down in order to help her get up however Aoi said, "No need" as she painfully got up, before looking at Furuichi and saying, "Next time make sure to look in front, if this was a road you would surely be killed by Truck-Kun, I'm sure you wouldn't want that."

Surprisingly Aoi-san didn't shout at him but merely reminded him to keep watch of his surroundings in case he injures himself. "Sorry.." Furuichi replied, but Aoi-san merely smiled before waving goodbye as she left.

....

After an hour:

Furuichi had arrived home, he was an orphan so he had no one to welcome him in, which further depressed him as he was already angry about getting dumped. The fact that he had no family further emphasised his sorrow. And as soon as he had took off his shoes he leapt up the stairs before falling face first on his bed.

He thought about all the memories he shared with Sakura, yet they made him even more angry remembering these memories. And like this he closed his eyes as he laid in bed.

At this time, it was already dark, and a blue light descended from the sky. Through the window opened by Furuichi, an inexplicable object fell into the floor of his bedroom, but the floor wasn't damaged.

Furuichi violently shook his head. He thought it was an illusion, but when he looked at the floor, he saw a transparent sphere that was slowly dissipating. And in fright he didn't touch it however as if a sentient being it launched itself straight at Furuichi, and seemingly merged with him.
