The Alpha King's Mate

Paul's POV

When Alpha Ace had called me earlier, informing me about the tragic news that happen to their pack. I'm really pissed off at those rogues. Anger bubbling up inside me when i think of the unmated shewolfs they had taken. And it's stressing me out this morning. Deciding to immediately inform this matter to Alexander. I mean, Alpha King Alexander. Though he's like a brother to me and we're same age, i still respect him for his my Alpha King.

This lazy wolf of mine, still yawning at my head when i called him in my mind telling him that we need to report to Alexander. But he insist to tell it to him later and instead get some more sleep.

I really don't know what to do at the idleness of my wolf.

Not giving him a chance to go back to sleep, i went immediately at Alexander's room. Not minding if it's still early and the sun hasn't rise yet. Knocking on his door and told him that i have a report that he needs to know immediately. So, we went on his office to talk about it privately.

Inside the office, my wolf felt a bit bored while waiting for Alexander to arrive. He wants to get over this matter quickly so he can go back to sleep.

So when Alexander entered the office, he controled my mind and had questioned the Alpha King for taking too long to arrive.

At his actions, Alexander got furious at me for my wolfs behavior.

I scowl at my wolf for controlling my mind at a times like this.

"We need to be serious here wolf. For this is a serios one." Talking to him at my mind to stop being slothful and get his head up.

As i'm informing Alexander about all the detailed report of Alpha Ace, my wolf suddenly became focus. And it was good that i got his attention.

Upon hearing the news i've told him, Alexander was furious and the anger that coming out of him makes me and my wolf felt uneasy and frightened.

Alexander's wolf is powerful and hard to control. He needs to calm down or else he would break out again. Leaving me fixing the things he broke and settling everything back to normal.

Life of a Beta is really stressing and have a hard responsibility to serve, assist and be the right hand of the Alpha King. And having a wolf that's always likes to sleep in slumber.

How did i even got a wolf like this and be a Beta?

But even though my wolf is extra lazy, i must say at a times i needed him the most, i can count on him.

We may had opposite attittudes and different personalities, we do have one thing in common and that is we are ready to fight, protect and serve the people we love and who are important to us.

It's just that my wolf really love to sleep. And there's nothing i can do about it. Or maybe, if we found our mate he wouldn't be lazy anymore.

I'll just hope for it to happen.

After talking to Alexander, he ordered me to call and inform all the alphas that the Alpha King wants to speak to them. To resolve and put an end to those filthy rogues.

Closing the door from Alexanders office, i inwardly curse to myself practically to my wolf.

"What you did back there is very impolite" speaking to my wolf while walking out of Alexanders office.

"Chill mate" was his respond and chuckled.

"Chill? Tell me how to chill, when there's so much going on right now."

"You're so annoying with your worriedness."

I raised my eyebrows at my wolf at his behavior.

"And how can i not be bothered when you're acting like that, like you're not concern on what's happening." Upset by his way of manners at me.

"Ofcourse, i do care. But not like you, you're over reacting. Try to relax yourself sometimes and take it easy. I'm positive that we'll seize those rogues and rescue all the unmated shewolfs in no time." The guarantee on his voice is evident and clear.

"Speaking of relax, i'll leave you for a while and i'll just continue to take my nap for waking me up earlier."

Taking his 'me time' again at the back of my mind.

Shaking my head at the laziness of my wolf, i started walking on the hall heading my way to the security room.

Focusing now my attention at the task i was assign to do.

Upon entering the security room, one of the guards walked up to me. Bowing slightly at me, showing respect as the beta of the Alpha King.

Walking up inside, the lights here are a bit dim. The feel of the room is slightly humid.

The security room is a room here inside the castle where the surveillance cameras, alarms and detectors that is place around the whole castle, is where they all monitored and keeping an eye of the sorroundings.

A wide screen monitor is at the center of the room, where you can see all the cctv's footage.

In the corner of the room is where the computers, laptops, phones and other devices thats need for the added securities in the castle and for communicating to the alphas outside the kingdom.

When it comes to the security and safety around the castle, the security team are the one who's incharge of monitoring and making sure the castle is as secure as possible. And that they are always on guard and alert if anything unexpected occur.

Taking my seat at one of the chairs at the corner of the room where the phones for communicating are place, i started contacting one by one all the alphas, informing them about the meeting with the Alpha King.

After i've informed all the Alphas, i walked out of the room and immediately mindlink Alexander reporting to him that i've already done informing the Alphas of his meeting with them that will take place later this evening.

Now, i need to go check the conference room to set it up and ready for accomodating the Alphas along with their betas.

I don't want to mess something up, to be blame and criticize putting myself into humiliation.

There's no room for mistakes.

Every time Alexander entrust me to be incharge of something, i always guarantee that the task i'm assign to do would be all settled and done.

The conference room is where the private meetings, discussions, plans and forums are being held.

It is soundproof so no one can overheard or eavesdrop on whatever the meetings or plans that are being discuss inside.

Outside and inside the room have guards to watch over whom are coming in and out of it. There were no windows here, so that no one can easily burst inside and may intrude.

After checking the conference room, making sure that's everything is set for the meeting later. And that the guards are ready and alert for securing the room.

Now that everything is set and clear, i decided to go to my room to take a shower to freshen me up from all the task i've done today that made me exhausted.

After all, my wolf is right. I really need to loosen up a bit and take a rest.

Taking his advice at me, i lay down on my bed after taking a shower.

Sighing deeply as i close my eyes. Getting relax as i doze off into deep slumber.
