The Alpha King's Mate

Alexander's POV

It took everything in me to control my beast not to rip Samuel's head off! When I saw him get closer to my mate and I felt her inside all riled up and scared, I had to contain the anger that bubbled up in me. I don't want her to fear me and see me rip someone's head off!

I couldn't stop myself to go over protective to her when I saw Samuel the way he look at my mate.

She was wearing the dress I had ordered out from the human territory. Seeing her wearing it, made the hunger in me burn up. Looking at her with her hair cascade down in her shoulder which was blocking the view of her neck. That's when I removed her hair away from her neck, for all to see my mark on her.

That she was mine!

I wanted to cage her in my arms. I wanted to be closer to her all the time. When I had left her in the bedroom earlier and went out to discuss some important things from her pack, I was itching to finish it all off so I could get back to her immediately.

I need to feel her now so I cornered her on the wall and buried my face to her neck. Her scent was the only thing that could calm my raging beast. But then I can't stop the need to touch her, to feel her against my skin. I was growing more and more obsessed to her and the need to claim her was pushing me to the edge.

But I can't. I have to be patient with her. I need her to trust me and give her self to me willingly. For now, kissing her is all that I could do.

We're having our dinner with my parents now so, we're heading our way to them and I'm sure they are now waiting for us.

As we walk our way towards the dining area, my mate kept her head down whenever we come across at someone here in the castle with the guards and servants that stops and bowed down to us. She just kept her eyes down. I felt she was nervous and anxious to the wolves around here, I held her hand tightly against mine, making her feel that she don't have to feel tensed to the wolves in the castle.

And I know, she's still not use to this kind of treatment but eventually I know she will soon get used to this and be comfortable one day.

Arriving at the double doors of the dining area here in the castle, I felt her nervous and worried. Before ordering at the guards to open the door, I look at my mate. Her eye's felt like she's going to cry for the fear that's settling on her.

"You'll do just fine. Don't be so nervous now love. They will like you especially my mother and besides my mother had already spoken to you?"

She just nod her head in response.

"So don't be too worried. Relax and just be yourself, okay love?"

I pressed a kiss to her head then nudge towards the guards to open the door.

Entering inside, I saw my parents were already sat at the dining table. When my mother saw us entered, she stood up from her chair and walk up to us.

I thought she would greet me first and peck me on the cheek but then I was surprised when she go straight to my mate pulling her in a tight embrace making her hands tear away from me. On the other hand my mate was startled at what my mother did.

"Oh! My gracious! How are you dear? Are you alright now? Are you still in pain? What happened to you?" She hold my mate's hand and inspect her up and down as if something harm had done to her.

"Here she goes again" grumbled my wolf.

I look at my mate to see what is her reaction towards my not so annoying mother. But she couldn't speak and didn't know how to answer back.

My lips quirk up into a smile and shake my head and rescued her to my mother.

"Mother" my voice came out somewhat authorative and putting a little serious tone in it to my mother to let go of my mate.

My mother back away at my mate and turn to me with a look of annoyance.

"Son! Don't you dare use that tone on me! I am still your mother!" She huffs, her hands at her waist while her face turning red.

"Oh-ooh, looks like you had rattled her wolf!" Mockingly said my wolf.

I threw my hands in the air, stiffling a laugh.

"Honey, why don't you let them sit first and we'll talk over dinner."

My father came up behind her and urdge my mother to sat back on her chair.

She huffs at me but smile towards my mate and go back at her chair.

I raised my eyebrows at the gesture of my mother towards my mate but I was happy that she likes her. And I feel like she likes my mate now more than me!

But it was fine to me, I appreciate the importance she was showing towards my mate.

I put my hands at the back of my mate and she look up to me with a buffled look on her face. I just smiled back to her and ushered her towards the dining table.

Pulling out a chair for her, she sat nervously and then I sat comfortably beside her.

At the head of the table, sat my father beside her is my mother.

Then we start to eat.

Silence settled first in the first few minutes or so. I felt my mate trembled beside me. I reach at the top of her hand and pressed it lightly. She turn to look at me with a tight smile and lowered her eyes.

My father clears his throat before speaking.

"Son, I heard what happened to your mate last night and to the rogues. Care to explain to me what exactly happen?" Said my father setting down the fork and knife and wipe his mouth lightly with the napkin.

Before I respond to my father's question, I glanced my mate whose taken back at what my father said. Then she turn to me, her eyes looking at me questioningly. Clearly, she had no idea what happen to her again after what she did last night down the dungeon.

"I was with her, honey" said my mother looking at her mate "I was about to take her out in the gardens to lighten her up but then something happen to her which I don't know. She was screaming and in pain! Then I left her to call for help but when I came back she was not in the room anymore" then her eyes turn to me feeling guilty "I'm sorry son and I'm sorry dear."

I felt my mate's heart beat quicken up and abruptly lowered her head towards my mother.

"Oh no, please don't say sorry.. I mean don't feel sorry at what happen to me. You didn't do anything wrong infact I was greatful for your kindness to me." She kept her head down again.

"My mate is right mother. You don't have to feel guilty at what happened to her. I am thankful mother that you had given your time to her" then I glance at my mate again which was just looking at her plate. I grabbed her hands on her l.a.p to entertwined it against mine.

"Ofcourse, my son! I am your mother and so your mate is now also my child."

My mate hastily lift her eyes to my mother and was surprised at what she had heard. Abruptly tears welled up in her eyes.

"And so as I" added my father and look at his mate "Your mother and I had wish to have a daughter after you were born. Unluckily, the Moon Goddess didn't bless us to bear a second child. But now that you found your mate, I am glad that she's now also my daughter."

I sensed her intake of air before turning to my father and I tighten her hands in mine. Her heart was beating faster from the happiness she was feeling. She couldn't hold back anymore and then her tears pour down from her cheeks.

"I-I don't know what to say.." the happiness in her heart was overwhelming.

"Thank you father" I look at him then to my mother "Thank you. You don't know how happy you had made her. This means a lot to me."

My father reached his hand and pat me on the back.

"Okay, as what I was saying" he then said changing the topic "I wanted to know what happened down there."

"About that.. I don't know how will I explain it all father.."

My mother settled down her fork and leaned closely at the table, listening attentively.

"My mate had done something I can't explain but it was..." I stop to glance at my mate who was now wiping her tears "It was the most unbelievable thing that I had ever seen. I don't know how she did it but she really had done something to the rogues that only she can do."

They both look at my mate in wonder and waiting for her explanation.

My mate glance at them with a confusion written on her face.

"But she had no idea what she had done to the rogues, father."

Then I told them what happen as how I had witnessed what she did to the rogues.

After she passed out, I had put her to bed and went back to the cells. When I got back, the rogues had shifted back to their human form and I was surprised to see them all kneeled down to me upon entering their cell. I sensed something had changed to them and to their wolf. Their scent wasn't like before that has the scent of a rabid wolf but it turn into a something new and different. I felt their hearts beating calmly and purely? But that's the way I had sensed towards them. They're not the wild rogues anymore that they used to but now they were all just silent and when you look at them you would see their eyes gleaming with happiness. It's like they had never been a rogue. Everything I ordered them and all what I said they would obey willingly without hesitation. I had asked them questions and they answered me truthfully without a hint of lies in their hearts. They had vowed to served and protect the kingdom especially their loyalty to their Luna Queen.

After I finished telling them what happen, my parents were both in awe in amazement and they both look at my mate in amus.e.m.e.nt.

"If that's what truly happened then it was truly unbeyond to the werewolf society. This had never ever been happen before" my father said "Son, the Moon Goddess has blessed you with a mate that's powerful. I know the both of you will rule the werewolf kingdom with great power."

My mate beside me shivered upon hearing all of it. I can feel her that she was confused at all of this. Her head is full of questions and wonder towards her own self. I will make sure that all of  it will be answered soon. I would be here for her to guide her and be with her through whatever she will face. I will be with her until my last breath.

"Well, I'm now excited for you to formerly introduce her as your mate to the werewolf kingdom and crown her as the Luna Queen! Then your mating ceremony! I can't wait!" Squeeled my mother, squirming at her chair. While my father was laughing heartily towards his mate.

On the other hand, my mate beside me look at my mother in bewilderment. Her face was now burning in embarrassment.

"Honey, you need to stop now" said my father "You're making her uncomfortable" then he chuckled "But then your right honey, we must present and introduce her to the werewolf society" he turn serious now and glance at me "Before that, we have to inform her pack first and her parents ofcourse. What pack does she belong to, son?"

At the last words my father had said, my mate turn stiff beside me. She was suddenly sad upon hearing her parents and her pack.

"Oh no, your father had triggered something very s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to our mate" said my wolf worriedly.

I cleared my throat first before responding to my father.

"Father, I would tell it you privately about her family and her pack, if it's okay to you. Just not in here.." I pressed my mates hand against mine then continue "It's very s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to her when talking about her family especially her pack."

My father nod his head in respect towards my mate.

"Okay, son. I under--"

"No.. it's alright" suddenly said my mate beside me "I will tell them personally about my family" she turn to look at me with her eyes showing her sadness and hurt but then she smiled at me weakly and lightly pressed my hand "It's okay.." she said through our bond.

She was now opening up to me and to my parents. And that is a good thing and a good start to us. Especially for her. That she was now slowly opening up and sharing something very important to her. And I couldn't be more happier with it.

I gently leaned down to her and laid a gentle kiss on her lips before I let her begin her story.
