The Alpha King's Mate

Camryn's POV

I stretched my arms above my head and curled back again in the softness of the bed. I felt like I never want to rose up and just lay in here all day.

"Wake up now sleepy head!" Said my wolf "We have something to do today, aren't we? Remember?"

"Give me a minute more" groaning at her. I still feel so sleepy and just wanted to sleep more.

"No! Camryn get up now! We need to help the pup now!" She angrily yelled. Her annoyed anger sending electricity to my body that I instantly jolted up from the bed with my hair sticking everywhere.

My eyes went wide realizing that I was sleeping with my mate.

He shouldn't see me like this!

My eyes abruptly traveled down beside me but then found it empty.

'Thank the Moon Goddess!"

I sighed knowing he's out of the bed but my heart ache seeing that he's no longer in bed.

I shrugged the feeling of emptiness in my heart and rose up from the bed. Convincing my heart that never to expect anything and besides my mate is the Alpha King. He has a lot to take care of and a responsibility to do for the kingdom. I should get used to this.

Standing up from the bed while I stretched again then made my way to the bathroom.

Walking up to the bathroom my eyes landed on the table at the center of the room. I approached the table and saw a neatly folded dress with a card on top of it. I picked up the card. It's a white small square shape card with flowers in the side of it and at the center of it there's a gold crown beautifully engrave.

I was curious to see what the card is so I slowly open it and my jaw dropped to see what's inside.

My Mate, My Love,

I'm sorry if you woke up without me by your side. I didn't wake you up for you were sleeping tenderly and I don't want to ruin your sleep. Seeing you sleeping beside me still feels like a dream. It's a dream come true, Love.

I wish I had this whole day with you but I hope you understand. I will make it up to you mate. I promise.

My heart skipped a bit reading at the last words written on the card. I released a deep sighed knowing that he had leaved me a note showing how important I was to him. That he even bothered to write a note just to informed me. It was just a simple note but it means a lot to my heart.

It was so thoughtful of him.

"He always thinks about us Camryn even how busy he was" my wolf giggled towards the gesture of our mate.

He truly cared for me and always cares for what I feel.

I hold the card closed to my c.h.e.s.t and smiled sheepishly while my heart danced with joy then I walk back to the bed and pulled the drawer at the bedside table and put the card inside then gently push back the drawer.

I'll keep it here, for now. I still haven't got some things here or even clothes. When I get back at the pack, I need to get some of my things there.

If it's still there or if they did not yet get rid of it. I only own few things and clothes not that much but it was a decent clothes for me but maybe for others my things are all just a thrash.

Turning around I walk back again at the table to pick up the dress and head to the bathroom to take a shower.

Once I had finish fixing myself, I walk out of the bathroom when suddenly there's a soft knock on the door.

I took a deep breath before opening the door.

I wonder who is it.

Opening the door, a servant holding a tray greeted me and bowed at me.

"My Luna Que--"

"No, please. You don't have to call me like that" I abruptly stop her addressing me as the Luna Queen. I don't feel to be called like that. I felt like it doesn't suit me to be a Luna and a Queen.

Her eyes widen and quickly spoke.

"But it's the Alpha King's order and you are his mate. I don't want to get punish, my Luna Queen. My appologies my Queen but I'm just following an order."

I sighed to myself taking in of my guilty conscience. It was rude of me to tell it to her like that when she was just strictly following an order from his King.

I really should get used to this.

"Alright" was I only said. I look at her with understanding and let out a small smile. I felt relief wash over her and she smiled back at me then bowed down again.

"I'm here to serve your breakfast my Luna Queen."

I look at the tray of food she was carrying and I handed out my hand to get it to her.

"Thank you. Here let me--"

"Oh! No! My Queen! You don't have to! You shouldn't!" Her eyes were frantic and shook her head at me.

"You are no longer a servant nor a peasant or a lowly wolf that you used to. You are now the Luna Queen, Camryn."

My heart thumped fast at what my wolf said. My hands were frozen in place between us.

I awkwardly pulled my hands back.

"Serving you and giving what you need is what I do, my Queen" then she kept her head down, not looking straight to my eyes.

I felt sad towards her. I see myself in her. I was once been like her. A servant. A poor lowly servant from my pack who's doing all what they wish and giving all what they need.

"Alright then. Come in."

I stepped back at the door and gestured her to come in. Once she was inside the room I gently closed the door while she set the tray at the table.

"If you need anything my Luna queen please don't hesitate to call me. Just press the button beside the door and immediately I will come for you."

She pointed towards the door. Just beside the door there's a green small button. I nod my head in response.

"Is there anything you want?"

"No, nothing. Ah-I'm good." I hesitately said.

She bowed down to me then was about to walk towards the door when I remembered that I have something important to do and I need her.

"Wait!" I abruptly said halting her. She turn to face me and waited for me to speak.

"I just remembered. I have something to do and that I might need your help."

"Anything you need, My Luna Queen" she sincerely responded.

"I need you to please kindly bring me the pup whose in the next room."

Her eyebrows rose in confusion but abruptly look down at the floor.

"As you wish, My Queen" then she bowed down and turn her back to walk towards the room and opened the door and was about to go out when I stopped her again.

"Oh! One more thing!"

She turn around again to face me and waited patiently.

"Before you go. May I know what's your name?"

Then she smiled at me.

"Helga. My name is Helga, my Queen."

"Thank you, Helga."

With that, she bowed once again and turn to leaved the room and closed the door.

I think she's nice. She has a kind looking face that you can easily read her expression. She's been patient to me and good. Respected me as the equal of her Alpha King.

I hope the other's would be like Helga.

I sighed to myself and walk at the table to eat what Helga had brought me for breakfast.

Once I had finish eating my breakfast, Helga came back just in time. Along with her was the pup.

The pup was quietly looking at me with his wonderful eyes.

I walk to him and bent down to his level.

"Hi!" I softly said but he didn't responded. He hold the hem of his shirt tightly with his hands while staring back at me.

I cleared my throat before talking to him once again.

"What's your name?"

I sensed Helga was peeking down at the pup, curiously waiting for him to say something.

I patiently waited for his response. I heard him take in a deep breathed before he finally utter a word.

"My mommy told me not to talk to strangers" came his cute soft voice.

My eyes widen at his response but then I smiled to him and gently reach my hand to him to pat him lightly on his head while at the corner of my eyes I saw Helga was shocked from the pup's way of speaking to me.

"You are one clever pup. You're mommy had tought you well."

He frown at me, his eyes staring curiously at me.

"He's so cute Camryn!" Said my wolf "If we could have a pup I wish it would be like him! A smart clever little pup!" Giggled my wolf.

My heart felt a pinch of ache from what my wolf had said. Her mentioning of us having a pup was a lot to take in. The responsibility that you have to commit to be a good mother.

I look at the pup tenderly. Knowing that he doesn't get to have a complete family.

Like I was.

But then she still have his mother. And that's why I am going to make things right for him. For him to be with his mother and to be happy.

"Do you want to see your mommy?"

His eyes abruptly lit up mentioning his mother. He do really miss her.

"Do you know my mommy? You know where she is?" His eyes started to trembled and a tear instantly form in his eyes and is now threatening to fall.

I just nod my head at him.

"Ca-Can you take me to her?" He stuttered. I can feel the excitement in his voice "Please?"

My heart melt the way his eyes pleaded just to see his mother. The tear that was threatening to fall were now streaming down his cheeks. I abruptly wipe his tears away and hold his little face between my hands.

"Don't cry now. You're going to see your mommy, okay?"

He instantly nod his head and wiped the remaining tears on his face and scrunched up his nose.

"Promise?" He then said with hope filled his face.

"I promise" I said looking at him intently.

"But first, you need to stay with Helga while I go to your mommy and bring him to you. Is that okay?"

He stared at me looking unsure and look back behind him to see Helga smiling at him then turn back to me.

"Okay."

I stood up and face Helga.

"Helga, would you please stay for a while with him on his room and wait for me there."

"Yes, my Queen."
